Why Early Access Ruins the Fun for Everyone

It is possible (I’ve checked with several Scientists and Lawyers) to not watch streamer for up a Week (experiments have been done with up to a month but the results weren’t so clear).

I know it will be difficult but I have faith in you. You can do it! Just try hard enough. We’re all on you side in this battle to avoid streamers for 3 days.

Together we can avoid spoiler!!

Early access is only beneficial in a meaningful way to rwf players and gold makers. That’s pretty much it. You’re not missing on anything.

Rubbish. Fast no lifer levelers could have several characters at max by tha ttime. Just think of the gear you could get just by finishing the main stroy. You will be ready for HC dungeons if not already doign them the second the rest of us even start.

These are not meaningful enough for you for simply paying more than others?

This EA release is frankly a slap in the face to people who play this game and it shows where blizzards prioritites are. It is not the players for sure. It is their bank account. Money means more to them than the players. That is obvious. That is obvious with the token sales and the constant AI made cosmentics that cost more than several months worth of subs.

In those 3 days you have less competition to bank on gathering materials, if you have enough good to invest you can even brute force the prices consumables to your liking already setting up the market to your preferences.

That sounds awesome… Think im going to give that a go this expansion. Try to make some money before the rest of the players get in.

68.7 Billion they paid. Think about that for a second. 68.7 Billion.

I can see micro transactions being pushed hard. And we can pretty much thank the counter strike boys for that with their damn loot boxes who started this whole madness.

But what gets me is this fostering of FOMO attitude. Buy into the game early or be left behind. People are saying you wont get left behind. You most certainly will.

Crafting mat markets will be set by EA access people. Early bought gear markets will be set by EA access people. Early gatekeepers of content will be EA access people. And this is what they want to be seen as? A s a company that sells its player base down the river for a few bucks?

How does an EA person stop you from doing content?

If i need to explain that, then you clearly do not even play this game at all. Or at least not on a semi competitive level in either raids or mythic plus where these gates exist.

Well good luck to you. I would suggest level first your character with alchemy and cooking.

After I would say tailoring to capitalize on new bags (if there are)

So how does 3 days early access prevent you from creating a Mythic+ group or a Raid or doing any other bit of content in the game? Please explain how you are prevented from doing these things.

Gathering mats are turned off it seems.

However, this still puts the EA people in the lead when it comes to setting prices or even setting the market. EA people with finished story line gear can access places where the herbs are that the rest of us cant reach tilll we are that level. That gives them the same amount of time to gather mats and that is however long the EA was.

So, gather like mad for however long the EA axxess was and by the time you have set the price on the market the laggers will just be starting to pick herbs/ores/mats while you are posting your load on the AH, thereby setting the market.

THis EA players do not get crafting mats is a red herring. Dont go down that rabbit hole.

Read my comment. End of story.

I did, it doesnt mention how me having 3 days early access prevents you from queueing for a dungeon. And bearing in mind that no one can do Mythic+ or raids until the 10th September, im really struggling to see the connection between 3 days EA and you being stopped from doing content…
Alternatively you could just admit that you got carried away in your initial statement and just started spouting rubbish.

There is an actually blue post that confirms this?

I have not ready many blue notes because I will no longer buy expansions from now.

It does!

I think ‘a few players’ is seriously underestimating the amount of people that’ll be there on the 22nd of august. I get it though; being spoiled sucks. But realistically, there’s already all kinds of spoiling going on since alpha went live and it’s only increasing with beta now. 3 days with limited accessibility to the expansion’s features isn’t going to add much to that.

I just can’t relate to this. I’ve never had that feeling except for vanilla launch when me and a group of RL friends started playing together. WoW has been WoW ever since; so you’re not really discovering a new game there. Just new places and content; which is cool, but I don’t feel the need to share that with anyone else.

There’s an ‘unfair gap’ no matter what. Some people will play 20 hours a day, some will only be able to log in for an hour or two. It happens in games with lots of different people playing in different ways with different schedules. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I cant seem to find evidence to support this though. I reckon you will be able to gather it just wont count towards your profession levelling till after the 3 days EA. If it is turned off then its a good thing in my opinion.

I am sort of following the thread so if it is the no gathering clauses built into the EA then i would have to say that i am quoting peole who posted above us who said this.

I am not privy to the conditions of the EA release but i am sure they can be found. I will have a look and edit this post if i find anything.

But even with a no gathering clause it is only lip service. Those with EA access will be max level and ready to do gathering runs for a while before the rest of us get to a position to be geared enought to follow them. They can access places that we cant due to not owning the gear nor knowledge of where stuff is. So until we get to that point where we can do this ourselves they will have an advantage.

A paid for advantage in a game where peole are making real life money. Real life money in terms of millions, some of them. So yeah. Buy an advantage can net you real life money in this game. Among other things

My bet is that flowers will be on the in physical form just not outlines. So you could in theory have an addon in place that marks positions of flowers not picked. EA over…go do those rounds.

You can still level and gather at the same time. This has not changed. So there is no “advantage” to anyone who reaches level 80 before you because they have EA.

There’s ALWAYS been people who have an advantage over others and it’s never been a problem, but now all of a sudden it is? Sorry, but I just can’t take the ‘advantage’ argument seriously in a game where some people play basically the entire day while others can only manage short sessions every day or even only once or twice per week.

This bring me back to a comment I made on another thread long ago. There are players who are trying to make their limited game play time the community and blizzards problem. You only get out of the game what you can put in with or without EA.
