This is the irrelevant part. Most (probably 90%+ of those buying Epic version is doing so for the mounts and pets and transmogs etc.)
And if you tooke the early access off that version of the game it would cost the same.
I’ll be buying the normal version most likely. I don’t care that much about some mogs and mounts.
I won’t even be playing this on launch night. I’ll go to bed at my usual time and play the next day at my usual time.
Most players who want early access just want to be first to explore the zone.
A tiny number will want it for gold making reasons. And good luck to them. If they want to spend their lives earning gold in a video game good luck to them. I’d rather get a good night’s sleep than be farming a virtual currency in a video game that doesn’t really matter all that much. Anyone wanting in game gold can simply buy a wow token from blizz for $20 or whatever and have more than enough to do anything.
I stated mine. There for all to read. I proved my points.
You, want to argue, it seems. And then you even start shouting at me.
Oh, wait. I am sorry. Using caps is supposed to emphasize the words, right? Like the words take on a special meaning just because you are makng the words larger.
You have over 8k posts. You know what using caps is.
You stated them yes, but they were disproved.
Weird that you’d say you’ve proven them.
Indeed. Athough it’s more about making reading them, bring across the message I’m trying to convey. Sometimes I use caps to emphasize a word, sometimes I use italic.
I still don’t see ANY issue with it unless I’d write all of my replies in caps.
I would agree that that would be pretty obnoxious.
I do. I have several thousands more posts on my main.
Are we demonizing forum usage now?
The problem isn’t early access, the problem is having a beta. Obviously you need testing but just don’t make a public beta or invite any of the players to beta. Just hire people to test it etc.
That is irrelevant to you. To people who make real life money off of this game that advantage is certainly welcome and desired. To me its the fact that this advantage exists in the first place that is offensive.
I like you dont care about a lot of stuff like pets and mounts so i techinically dont give a crap that some peole are reaching content faster than me. But it is the fact that i can have this if i paid more money.
There is a two tiered system being made here and it could lead to other undesitable consequences such as other things being paif for as well.
Who is to say that on next launch they wont include dungeon runs in their laucnhes, now that they have conditioned the playerbase to pay more for early access?
Why is that an issue?
It’s a handy tool for Blizzard to, for instance, test server loads and such. A smaller selected group of people can’t convey such information.
I want to agree with you but I cant. I think you overlooking the advantage here of how many possible bug reports they can and would get. The only limitation would be how quickly they can work through all of them before launch without breaking anything else in the process.
Some of the things that won’t be available until reset include the best items from rare spawn creatures, Mythic Zero dungeons, Mythic Plus, weekly profession cooldowns and profession specialization points, Hazzikostas said.
Early Access players can not gate keep any content from you.
I’m interested as to know how long you usually take to get to Max Level.
‘Offensive’ is THE most misused and abused term in today’s society.
As if being offended suddenly grants you some overruling power or right.
Being offended is entirely a ‘you’ thing. If you’re offended, that is your problem and yours alone.
Sorry for the tangent. Don’t take it too personal; it’s meant as a general dislike of people saying they’re ‘offended’ and then expecting someone else to do something about that.
EA players access content earlier, therefore are in a position to exclude others from runs.
As in, they will only take other equally high leveled and geared individuals, as opposed to using the unwashed ,stinky feral , horde cats that are not geared well but can do the content.
I’m not a fan of slippery slope arguments.
Aspirin is the slippery slope to forced mercy killing.
Pong is the slippery slope to Skynet taking over the world.
Because the hype and excitement you get from everyone joining into the unknown at the same time is extremely important for community building and making the player ↔ game connection stronger. I think FF14 never had beta tests IIRC. Just look how people liked that there was no beta test for the rune base wow classic + thing (forgot the name, you know what I mean).
As you say, it’s a handy tool for Blizzard to save money and earn money by selling access but the cost is the excitement you’d have if no one knew jack about it and everyone joined at the same time. You’d tell your grand children about it.
Blizzard is a company that lost its “why” (google Simon Sinek if you are curious about the concept of “why” of a company) and is just dying because you can feel it. While there is no direct monetary benefit of having no beta, you could even say you loose money (opportunity cost kinda thing), you have a long term benefit: That’s the whole reason why Blizzard got big.
Their why was: We want to make great games. (And they only hired gamers. They hired their secretary because she had a Xbox. Her own. She owned it. That was the reason they hired her.)
What you end up with is great games. They lost the why. Now you have shiat games. Simple.
Edit: I am right, no point in discussing with me. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it.
No one can exclude you from ANY dungeon run. You have the ability to queue or create any dungeon run you want to.
What they may choose to do is not take you to their runs. That isnt an EA thing thats a WOW thing.
I did not think that drones would be used in warfare like that but look what is happening in ukraine right now? At least i did not. I may have thought about it but never really entertained the thought seriously, as the tech is just not there. I was wrong.
Terminator 2 days without the alien tech but warfare capable AI, is here.
