Why i am being force to do pvp?

Hey i am playing in a raiding guild which targetting cutting edge. I dont like pvp in wow and just having fun at dungeons and raids with my friends so first new gear system announced i didnt bother that much. I said “whatever let the pvp guys have their gear too. I dont wanna do pvp and i ll farm my gear from raids.” But after a while my friends who like pvp got geared as lightspeed my rogue friend and warlock guildi is 223 ilvl atm. I asked how he does it because i was still 215 ilvl (bought 2 boe by the way) He told me he is getting x2 226 ilvl gear weekly !!!. 1 is from weekly vault and other from weekly conquest cap. How is it fair for pve players who doesnt like pvp. I wont do pvp and i dont like it at all but while i am not doing it i am ungeared and people ll have spot at raid because they have more have pvp gear than me which they farmed from pvp not pve ???. Can you explain me the idea why forcing us to do something we dont enjoy !!!

Cool story :grinning:
Weekly cap is 550, you can buy items like 1 wrists or 1 clock for that…

2H weapon for example is 1800 conquest, so its 550+550+550+150 = 4 weeks min.
Plus farming honour and reaching CR to upgrade.

So its not as accessible as you claim.

He is at 2100 pvp point so he told me he has 1 226 ilvl gear from conquest cap i dont know how he doing it

I presume he bought some cheap item from conquest vendor like wrists 200 ilvl and upgraded it with honour currency to 226 cause he is a duelist ( 2100 )

Its fair because he put the time and effort it. He wouldn’t be getting 2 items weekly all the time due to that same cap not allowing it.

Ignore ilvl as for a lot of classes that verse heavy pvp gear wouldnt actually so you much good in cutting edge raiding… a few specs like it. Most don’t.

If your raid leader is taking higher ilvl people than you who could potentially pull lower dps due to bad stats then he’s thick as a door knob.

If you’ve been benched because they out dps you with their gear, well tough one sunshine they put the effort into optimising their gearing process and you didn’t.

Choice 》consequence

First of all ,ilvl and main stat would be a huge diffrent and why i should do the thing i dont like to able to keep doing content i enjoy ? Its like doing prostitution to able to go to cinema. I dont like new gearing sytem at all i am doing full hc clear+mythic 3 boss and all i got is 213 ilvl brlt for it . And he is getting 226 item because he like pvp and i dont.

Items which are most suited towards pvp. Most are verse heavy which isn’t that good for most non tank specs. Yes it has higher mainstat but that probably won’t make up for the lack of secondaries suited to most specs. Might break even and be on par with ideally weighted 213 items.

No one is forcing you. But cutting edge raiders usually min max to get the most out of progression.

If ya clearing 3 mythic bosses weekly and getting a 226 from GV from m+ to. Youll have some.opyions atleast. id bet you’ll catch up eventually when some good RNG plus uneeded gear is rolled for.

Wow has been this way for 10 years, just on the other foot. Pvpers have been forced into raiding for years to remain competitive at the top. Suck it up

Its a choice simple either you do or you dont. I can not see a problem here, if you friend lvls quicker he/she is using the system to gear. In relation it may be a bug where they cap, spent the conquest do pvp again and gain conquest thats the only way really. Also when a new char level it may show the conquest cap at 3300 like this week and so grind as much conquest as they like and get 2 226 pieces as well. You can get 218 in a day if you complete covenant questline gear wise and pvp. Its much easier then grinding mythic plus really.

You are not “forced” to do anything really. But it is only logical that the most skilled players (aka higher ratings arena players) get more rewards than players who can’t succeed in Arena.

I understand you do not like pvp, but this is where the skill is along mythic raiding. So you will often find the same players doing both.

The gearing system atm is more rewarding in pvp (where you have guaranteed progression) than pve (few loots and rng ruled).
So I guess any hardcore progression raider should force himself into arena tbh. It is if you are cutting edge guild ofc. That is because if you are hardcore you min max. There is no more “choice”. It is your job.

Because he is also decent at PvP, it’s not easy getting 2100+ for someone who PvEs and hav e 0 vers.

And how is it fair for pvp players that dont like pve ? If u wanna have the best gear, which rn is around 225-8 u simply have to do everything, mythic raid and pvp on high level.

Its pretty balanced to me, u can do just one and be perfectly fine, or u can do both and have advantage, which is justified by effort put in and probably skill too.

I would suggest you to look in secondary stats values. They are literaly few % againts each othet thats why they barely mattet compared to primary stats. And versa is actuly bis stat for many classes.

not gonna lie its so funny to see and im so happy to see this bcz in bfa there was millions of post same title but instead of pvp, it was “why i am being force to do pve” and pve players just came and “just do pve 4head” so afterall, thanks for this post, made my day, i like watching dragonslayers getting punished.

PvE is just a mini game. :man_shrugging:

How is it not fair? He does two types of content at high level, and you do one, therefore he has higher ilevel.

Whether you like the content or not is irrelevant.

Similarly people who only do PvP will have lower ilevel too, as conquest arm only allows for 3.7k worth of items which is we take out wep Costs which most people went for is about 3 additional items. If we assume their GV never duped they’re still 5 items short of a full set and those leftover items are capped at 197 which brings their ilevel down to about the same as yours, assuming they’re at the req rating for 226. Seems fair to me.

Getting 2100 in the first half of the season requires skill closer to mythic raiding tier. Skill is rewarded. All is fair.

I think it’s time for a Blue response on this issue.

Hey mate, it seems that you want to reach the higher ilvl fatser, getting caught up with ilvl race can be daunting. But is there a necessity to have higher ilvl in your guild right now? Is your spot endangered? Because if you do not enjoy PvP you could just gear up with raids, after all PvP players max cap in ilvl isnt close to what PvE offers and at some point you will replace those items got with sweat and blood from PvP.

Unless you think its important to get the edge now, you could do cap for conquest with is couple of arenas (not sure about how many) and BG, in process you will master your class like you haven’t before, which will be useful even in Raids and high M+, even if you decide to never look back at PvP after you have achieved your milestone.

Any way you choose your invested time won’t go to waste in some way. There is no mandatory requirement in game though to be required to do both, just what are you looking for specifically.

GL.

If you are at the cutting edge of pve but don’t do any pvp, you have more or less the same itemlevel as someone who’s at the elite level in pvp but does no pve. It’s perfectly fair.
