I do both pve and pvp. That means every week it’s 100g minimum. If I wanna farm as well, 150g. I missclicked wtf? 200g. I wanna try out something new, 250g. Nah, wasn’t worth it, 300g. Trying a new class? Better google best talents for leveling.
Every week juggling this back and forth. Cost vs benefit. Fun vs grind. Can’t have one without the other. More than 1 raid night a week? Just shoot me already.
With all the time I spent farming it’s like I died and went to purgatory but realising I’m not going to heaven, I’m already in hell. It’s like paying a respec cost every time you change weapons in a shooter game.
If this restriction is removed it would make me way more active.
No more declining invites because I’m in the wrong spec.
No more forcing myself to play a certain way because I happen to be in that spec atm.
No more planning the week like it’s work.
No more choosing not to play until next raid night because I rather save the gold. Towards the end it happened so often I didn’t even realise I had already quit playing.
Remove respec cost and add dual spec (or even better, tripple spec) and I’m happy to play all day every day with a smile on my face. Give me the freedom to play the game. Now make me able to copy my characters to fresh era and tbc era as well and my motivation will skyrocket.
I love classic and I want so bad to come back instead of being on the fence.
And btw, the announced changes for fresh are great!
Or maybe just get used to not farm on your main character.
I will play a fury warrior with engineer and one other profession. My farmchar is probably going to be a protection paladin and i will need a third character on lvl 45 (or 35? idk anymore) for alchemy as well.
bc the people asking for it dont actually want to play they game, they just want to raid log and occasionaly swap to dueling spec so they never have to leave org/sw
RP should take a back seat to “game”. What part of the roleplay involves spending 50 gold so you can completely change your skillset/role and do other content? These kind of arguments are nonsensical.
If you want to argue against dual spec, this isn’t it.
no “i want to change my spec for free whenever i want to because i cant be arsed putting any effort into my character or the world” and trying to change a game that was made for ppl who like the game how it already is, is nonsensical. go play retail or sod u can change ur spec as much as u want with no consequence. oh wait. nobody likes either of those games.
Exactly where is anyone saying this? How is paying 50g “putting effort into your character”. The effort you put in is levelling, gearing and enchanting it, levelling professions, grinding out reps, earning PvP ranks, clearing raids. The effort isn’t arbitrary points on a talent tree or the 50g you spend to reset them.
Dual spec isn’t changing your spec for free whenever either, it’s 2 current specs so you can do 2 roles like dps/tank or raid/pvp. I can 100% guarantee you that there are people who unsubbed who probably would have kept playing if they didn’t have to face the harsh reality of having to spend 50g just to swap roles every time they want to do something.
Retail is far, far more popular than any version of Classic or all of them combined, you have no idea.

You guys make zero sense and have zero logical reasons for not having dual spec, i have yet to see one at least.
Lol the lies. Maybe they dont want to do it with you. I had no problems finding groups in retail to suit my needs. On era however people reserve items in dungeons and then wonder why they cant find people for a run. And if you tought retail has no players wait for AQ40 for tank and healer to drop the game cause they are a walking free honor and cant do a thing by themself. But thats the thing you probably cant kill anyone in open world PvP if they are not speced for heals so you are hard against dual spec or lowered respec prices.
Thats the #nochanges crew only argument. Go play retail or go play SoD. Everyone who has two braincells doesnt take your arguments seriously cause there are no arguments to begin with. I will play retail, SoD and classic, and advocate for the best possible version of every game, and making changes that are welcoming to both new and old players, because i want this community to grow. You seem like you want to play with 1000 sweats from private servers and exclude everyone else. Only you know whats good for the game. Everyone else is bad and their opinion sucks. People like you make casuals quit the game by gatekeeping a 20 year old game. Again waiting for some logical arguments, if you know what logic is.
