Exactly they verify that something has gone on. They can also provide all that data to police.
If you are happy to ignore people behaving badly then good for you.
Personally I report rule breaking.
absolutely everything with their ticket system is automated, there isn’t any human oversight unless its something on reddit or a streamer with 1000 of views. They fired almost all their support staff.
You doing that is fine just be aware wow won’t exist after the next 2 expansions if you keep this stupid path. It resembles ideologies i’d rather not put in chat here.
Good for you I am sure everyone else posts their passport in there also .
Especially those guys that sell botting services , or those that sell arena boosts , or the bg premade mafia that will report everyone for anything possible .
But hey I can put my date of birth in 1945 and tell my grand kid used my account and got abused by some rando on chat and ban them for it .
Go prove it . Should I send pictures of my grandson playing ? I can generate you 1000 of them on Chat GBT in 3 seconds .
But than again it is pointless to argue with “green” posts on stuff that contradicts blizzard .
This should be named abusive behavior . Not child abuse . Period .
That is the daftest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
Being able to report other players has been around along as I have been playing, so at least since TBC. Allowing everyone to behave badly is what turns people off. Blizzard has done much over the years to improve reporting.
Having more categories for reporting wont change anything to make the game unplayable. I can’t even imagine being in a situation where a minor could report me for anything that would qualify. I just don’t have those kinds of conversations with players.
I have had to provide a passport as a document for name change. And driver’s licence etc.
My account has the right details on it so I can always get it back.
Can you tell me exactly what imposing chat restrictions on anyone accomplishes?? no one is hurt by words, maybe they are emotionally (which objectively are irrelevant) but if you guys just make an account wide ignore feature this is solved.
And if you dont realize this yet, this “child abuse” report feature will be abused to the max because it probably counts 10 fold what other reports count as.
Because in reality when people report anyone in this game they do it 99% out of spite not because of actual real honest intentions.
All it does is bleed your playerbase, game wont exist in a few years if you continue this horrible customer support.
You seem to imagine every complaint is not investigated.
Someone would still have to be trying to groom you. Blizzard would need to see that in the conversations that you reported. They can see all the chat logs.
So you can report yourself for it after crushing a DH or rogue in pvp
People are hurt by words. People are abused, bullied and even driven to suicide by words. I don’t believe anyone is that naiive that they think words can’t cause harm.
Personally I have zero interest in playing a game that has no rules. I want a pleasant gaming environment. I’m not into abusive anarchy where everyone can behave as badly as possible.
However this isn’t going to achieve anything. No amount of logic will make you see that this is nothing more than a reporting category that will be investigated like any other.
Give me tangible evidence anyone in this game has ever commited suicide as a direct consequence of words written in world of warcraft.
Nothing is investigated in this game, but you know that, everything is handled by AI. most tickets right now is only overturned if you got 1000+ likes in a subreddit or it has political vibe that can give a bad opinion about blizzard or you are a prominent streamer.
On avg in a appeal thread you’ll have to go through 15 copy pastas before any human interaction occur i suppose that is the brilliant state of the art customer support that will help world of warcrafts player base increase. /lol
I actually care about this game but you (blizzard) are actively killing it with politics and for whatever reason you dont seem to grasp what will happen in the long run.
I’m laughing my keister off.
Not at the fact that we now have a child abuse option in reporting, but that people being pathetically facetious.
“Oh no we can’t type bad things at minors now!! Boo Blizzard boo!”
No that’s NOT what the option is for and you know it.
And then we get to some of the more idiotic replies.
People won’t use this option but anything but spite it’s guaranteed. On a side note, the category is horribly named, rename it verbal child abuse, not child abuse.
“Child abuse” requires a proven (physical) sexual/violent context but that won’t ever be the case here is faulty design.
This game is an MMORPG, but right now, it’s like a single-player game. If you ask most players, it’s simply not worth uttering a word, given that horrible customer support, an automated ticket system, and automated bans now make interacting with anyone regardless of content not worth chatting to. Is this the game you guys want?
Weird to have all these options when by the end of the day a chatgpt bot is programmed to decline everything and automate everything
Out right rubbish , i have been abused and reported the player and i know for a fact there was action so please do not speak of something you know nothing about.
You receiving an automated ingame mailbox message isn’t investigating they do this without banning anybody.
No i actually spoke to a GM please stop assuming things as it really is making you look pretty foolish.
You wouldn’t have to report anything if an account wide ignore feature existed in the first place. GM’s right now isn’t even GM’s either its automated AI templates.
Please stop embarrassing yourself, people like my abuser had several accounts and got around ignore.
You are just trolling cringe and going on ignore you have nothing of worth to say.
