No âweâ did not ask for it at all not by a majority anyway a few asked for it but most rather paye a fee per char to fly at max level back then.
Your title is misleading and click bait as its not and never will be atm removed from game .

Like I said to Puny⌠I could have worded that differently. No need to get hung up on the ââWeââ part. It was a very popular opinion at the time that had allot of support. Blizzard wouldnât have gone trough with it if people where massively opposed to it at as a majority.

Cant say it was in my view alot of people were happy as it was.
Maybe on the RP servers it could have been a thing but it was far from huge or a majority.
After all WoD lost alot of subs due to lack of flying .

Sadly i think its going to be deep hidden with renown and time gated badly probably level 70 or something .

I remember reading news about it first then checking out the topics about it later.
At the time I was not an avid forum goer. That being said, Its not like it was all rain and thunder outside and evil Blizzard just did this against our outcries on the behest of a tiny not so popular opinion as you say. If so I think allot more people would have spoken about it allot more in that regard.
Iâm expecting at least a few weeks of renown grinding, but itâll still be 9.1. 
I am not going to argue with you but 3.3 million leaving at the start of WoD had alot to do with being told no flying and other things .
I have been on forums since 2005 and never on general did i see any mass posts asking for gated or removed flying .

So you say the majority spoke on forums alot about no flying yet you missed the thousands of threads in WOD about people leaveing in milllions for no flying okay i am done with your posts . If you can not debate without insults then do not post and i have flagged you good day.

Ya, it would have been a very small minority of people as it is usually. The type who tell people to put on chill music, walk around, stop, take screenshots and emote pose while between world quests. Usually theyâre RPers.
Definitely was not any mass demand for flying removal âbecause people want to exploreâ.

I have to say I donât actually agree that it was a majority/popular opinion, but I do think you firmly believe that. I think itâs one of those things that the player base is split on, similarly to the fly/no fly opposites.
For all the people that unsubbed when they tried to remove flying there will have been people cheering that they finally got what they wanted, a no flying game going forwards. Obviously Blizz had to u-turn on that one but it was the same kind of thing.
There is no need to keep hurling insults though. You two see things differently.

Gameplay is what happens when you are playing your character.
Travelling from [Gameplay Spot 1] to [Gameplay Spot 2] doesnâf affect gameplay at all, whether you travel on a horse, or a flying horse - or through a portal.
Back in the days when A FEW people advocated no-flying on the forums, the vast majority - like 90% - of their arguments were based on restoring World PvP. (So disable flying in War Mode. Done. Easy!)
The other argument was social - meeting people as you travel. How much of that have you noticed going on in Shadowlands?
There was a third argument, but made by the devs rather than of the players: if you have to kill Bossman, you can fly straight to him instead of cutting your way through his Minions. It took just a few minutes for the correct response to that, IIRC: make the quest require you to kill 5 Minions as well.

No it does not ruin the game Yupie at all they could make flying not work in WM or give you things to catch flyers like there is in game already ,
Except that it does because you are purposely avoiding large swaths of terrain and any associated gameplay by using your flying mount to get from point A to B. It completely removes even the potential for gameplay between these two points whether that be pvp, pve or even social interactions.
And just to be clear, Iâm not against flying per se but rather flying as it exists in this game right now where there is no danger, no restrictions, no penalties or cost attached to it.
I think we often perceive things we support as popular. I really donât think it matters either way in the discussion, if the suggestion was to hold off flying to encourage exploring more, they still went wildly overboard at holding it back.
Personally I find I do plenty of exploring while levelling as Iâm grounded, I like to discover things and places and take screenshots as I go. At least on my main on my first run through.
