And witch mount would you buy? with that gold?they where rep locked with the factions brainiac.
The basic wyvern which had no rep requirement. Or griffon depending on your faction. In fact even the epic version didn’t have a rep requirement, as far as I recall, just costed more gold.

Read apon it.The wyerins where 1k gold for 60%,5200 gold for the epix version.Netherdrakes,Hypos took you to get to exalted and also pay 1600 gold.(if you already unlocked the 5k gold artisan riding)
So good luck coming up with 7k gold back in tbc for any meaningful mount back then. And you had to redo it if you dare to have an alt…all of it.
He was talking about something different. The current Rep-Rate is 75 while it was the same for “small task”-quests, 125 for the normal quests and 250 for the blue ones in Legion.
They literally have halved the reputation-gaining so you will spend even more time.
Hmm. How about we go back to vanilla rep gathering then. You know maybe like the winterspring timbermaw rep. 1 rep per kill, chance to get beads or feathers on a kill 0.5%. 5 feathers/beads gets you 5 rep.
Now with the old spawn rate system, which I would assume they would put in for such a system, even if you wanted to sit there and grind 21,000 + 12,000 + 6,000 = 39,000 kills (assuming you even got to neutral)
You would run out of mobs to kill with in 10 minutes, I remember that to be the case, possibly even less, given that there would be others after the same mobs. (no multi-tag, no group tags).
So your possible 10 hours (playing time) triples, quadruples or even way beyond that.
Against this you have doing a few rep quests a day which give you the same rep each as killing 250 mobs.
Hmm. 250 mobs vs 1 quest (kill 10 of this, find 10 of that)
Hmm. While I understand the full context of what you wrote. This bit basically means that you are complaining that rares are … rare!
Yeah, thanks for making my point and then dancing around it.
The wiverns were not rep-locked, like I said. The epic version costed more gold, like I said.
I never mentioned fluff mounts that indeed were rep-locked, I spoke about gaining the ability to fly which included paying for the flying skill and the mount with ONLY gold, gold some of us already had in our bags because we farmed it at our leisure even before TBC even got announced. Which creates a remarkable difference between the free grind for gold and the time gated rep grind we are supposed to conduct now. Also considering the numerous and flexible methods of grinding gold vs the rigid rep grind, makes that difference even more remarkable.
I’m gonna stop this conversation right here before you get even more confused.
Ofc you wount cause that would mean we are talking about exactly the same point as with the 8.2.example from bfa,rep grinding a faction throw time gated daily quests from back then like we have now.
And lets be real none ever wanted to ride the wyverins back then they where lame.
Never mind the gold part and how its only for one character on your account.
Point being it was always timegated/repgated since tbc.
No, not at all.
Why are the rare mobs rare if they don’t drop anything?
They quite literally are though, because of Blizzard’s top notch phasing technology -.-
Your solution to the rep grind is chain running dungeons is that fun and engaging?? It’s not an option anyway because they have players that won’t enter instanced content.
There’s a hell of a lot going on in Nazj and Mecha, I got stuff in my bags I don’t even know what it is! Does something though!
If you want to grind, you can grind rep through rares, you just have to learn how to summon them and where they are. Every 3 hours the place turns into a frigging bg, how cool is that! There a pve event that I haven’t experienced, also the eel thing that appears in the mid every hour or so gives 150 rep.
It’s less timegated rather you have to learn and discover the zones, so much so that sites like wowhead can’t keep up. You might think you’ve run out out of quests but find more if you go out exploring! Very vanilla if you ask me.
In opposite I moaning that I want things in much harder way
Otherwise it seems just like wasting time
Aren’t games all about having fun?
I don’t have fun in these zones except when I’m doing pet battles or those puzzle quests (they are fun and quick). So that means I’m moaning about wanting things easier? I think OP has lost his logic module somewhere.
If game is so so evolving like all white knights say - then questing stopped its evolution long time ago ^^
I don’t want to get things easier. I want to get things a different way. I want tabards back, so I can run dungeons to get rep. Options, like when I level up with a Nazjatar tabard, get Nazjatar rep, so this way, while I’m leveling up my alt, I’m grinding it’s rep for flying. Meanwhile, my main can do the daily quests for rep or M+ or raids for more rep.
I want the ‘fun’ back to the game, not the mindless running around in the new zone doing the same boring stuff for weeks.
Is it too much?
Edit: the more I think about this, the more I like it. Blizz creates all these timegate and rep gate stuff to ‘force’ people to stay subbed. But for them, it doesn’t matter if the player stays online 1-2 hours a day (WQ and rep grinding) or more (leveling, dungeons, raids, BG). So basically, for them, it shoudn’t matter HOW players would grind their rep. But for us, it’s more than important. If I’m having fun in the game, the more likely I will renew my sub each month. The ‘forced’ grinding of dailies and WQs JUST to get flying is everything, but not fun. It’s repetitive, dull and boring (for me at least). I’d love to level up my one and only horde toon, just to see the other side of the story, to unlock the allied races, get the alliance wolf mount, or even to create a Mag’har orc toon for low level horde quests and zones, but I’m not gonna do that without flying. So catch 22 is here, I need flying, to play and truly enjoy the game and more importantly, to have fun, but grinding for flying is not fun, so I’m not gonna play.
But maybe I’m wrong and I might be overthinking, I don’t know. What I know, is that I’m gonna cancel until 9.0 and spend the monthly sub fee for ESO (yep, not FF since I hate manga ).
Well we just got the first emmisary with the Unschackled.
It’s more that you have to do a ton of work to get flying maybe at the very end of an expansion. It would be more useful if you could do all that work right away so flying would still be meaningful by the time you get it.
It was broken. But goblin gliders ftw.
No, they are not. If we’re talking about the skull ones they die too fast. You have to be on top of them when they spawn because if you see them on the map they are dead a few seconds later. You’ll never make it in time unless you camp.
Not a personal concern 'cause I’ll get them later, but that’s the problem.
Hm, depends. I don’t really want reputation and the likes to be account bound, but since absolutely everything is locked behind rep… let’s say I understand the need for it at this point. I actually stopped being an altoholic in this game and that’s a real feat, blizzard! Not necessarily a good one, but a feat nonetheless.
This is plain wrong.
It’s not timegating because it takes days to do quests, it’s timegating because you are forced to log in every day to do a few quests. So if I work all week and just want to no life in the weekend… nope. Can’t do it. This is the concern of many people, and I agree. Blizzard should not control the moments I want or can be online up to this degree. Not on a daily basis.
Nonsense. There are always some that would fit this description, but there are also legitimate concerns. To say that “no one wants to work for anything” because they want to work for it in the weekends (for instance) is quite silly.
I think you didnt got the point,op was sarcastic with everything in his inital post.
I usually get sarcasm very easily even through written text and the internet, but I don’t see the sarcasm here. Especially not combined with the rest of her answers.
I could be wrong, of course.
Okay, nvm, just got to this bit:
Kudos to op and you.
Right here is where OP say’s to everyone to stop moaning about it.Also the title of the thread is to stop moaning m8.Maybe its still early ? get some coffe.
Haha, you should try reading the classic forum. People are actually like that there not sarcastically.
I don’t need coffee, I need a detox xD.
Those are trolls, people looking to moan about something.Cant be happy with something in life.I stoped posting in Classic since mid May.Couldnt take it anymore.
