They shouldnt run all over the place telling everyone “ewww wtf why are you eathing this stuf??” which is exactly what people are doing.
I mean it’s basic tribal behaviour isn’t it? I see it happen on almost every game that has multiplayer component, even more so if it includes pvp.

Well see this as a banana forum.
But every day people come in and want to add strawberry flavour.
So we say no, don’t touch our banana’s?
And then you come in to say, maybe just a little strawberry?
And so on.
People want the banana they had 15 years ago.
The banana we have today is molded.

Nobody’s pro-actively going out their way to the strawberry forums to complain about them.
It’s usually just people defending banana’s because they want to change it.

Maybe we are talking about two different things, but I am refering to the toxicity towards people who still enjoy Retail. Nothing wrong with that, I do too. I play both versions. But I cant say it aloud or else people will tell me I am not a Classic purist and just dont “get” it.

As stated by others: different individuals, different ideas and a lot of different ways of expressing themselves 
Personally I find parents forums the worst, after that food forums and games comes on 3’rd… The more passionate you are about a subject, the more defensive/narrowminded you appear to be 
I still need to master the art of being level headed and not be too offended when roaming forums - but people on the internet is sometimes just so… 
I disagree that ‘passionate = defensive/narrowminded’. If I’m passionate about cooking, I am not concerned about being right: I am concerned about being good at it. It does not take a lot of experience at all to understand that different people have different tastes, therefore someone not liking a meal for taste reasons does not tell me as the cook where I went wrong except that I did not account for their tastes.
When people get into heated discussions on a topic, it’s not because they are passionate about them. I see discussions between scientists, economists, doctors and other experts on topics where despite all involved being knowledgable and passionate about their topics, they respectfully disagree. When a discussion is toxic, it’s because someone cares less about the topic than they do about something else; they are not engaging in a good-faith discussion.
I also wrote appeared to be, because what you percieve and what is send out is 2 different things.
Every forum has writers in every spectrum, but even forums that belongs to scientist, economist, doctors and others have toxic or very passionate writers 
I can guide you to a nordic engineering site where the authors are… special 
And yet, you still can end up getting bashed for not liking or preparing like one other author does.
Or it’s when they get frustrated, and in pure affection writes something that comes out a bit harsh

I don’t know much about forums i don’t read much.
But i do know this Blizzard has trolls on forums countering arguments and insulting people much like the mainstream media sites.
I used to visit RT alot and the comment section was full of Putin trolls
You even had a whole list of “comment deleted”, which was basically moderators deleting comments that are contrary to their whims. RT being the main news source of a whole government tells u alot what kind of a world you live in.
It has spread rapidly to everywhere and now every governing body has his trolls all over social media.
Countries with almost zero interest on online community also started to engage in this like Saudis, Indians, Turks and the list goes on.
Take Indians for example, the whole subcontinent is turning into a hub of perverts seeking to gang rape every female, they lycnh everyone that is not worshipping cows and drinking cow urine. And these people are now becoming popular, like a new trend and you wish i was joking or you might think i’m being racist. Just look it up, they even have a sex slave(politician) in US by the name of Tulsi Gabbard.
The head of the snake of all these things are Israelis because they are the beacon of toxicity and so they need all these sell outs and trolls to make it appear as tho they are legit. So others seeing this that they get away with it just copy and now were are in a huge world of cluserf*** where somwhere you know there is no future.
