This attitude incentivises an elitist culture where you’ll have those missing out and others getting everything and it’ll continue to the point where it’ll weed out those who can’t compete fairly.
When I log into this game, I do it for the goal to have some fun.
Lately though, I log on with the pressure knowing I have to really sell myself for a place in a group. In content I know is well within my capabilities, because it’s been done before.
I do make my own groups when I can. To get a casual friendly experience, but sometimes you just ain’t got that time or want that responsibility and just want to log in and let someone else take charge.
Then it comes a vicious circle of having that pressure that most groups you see want the best of the best for the trivial things.
Where in the last 20+ years did we change our perception in gaming?
Being competitive is good and all, but leave it for the real world and let’s us have fun in a game.

These days, it’s just the way it is. Fortunately, my guild’s attitude is quite different, even though we’ve been farming ICC 25 12/12 hc for a long time in WotLK. In SoD all loot goes through group loot, and it doesn’t matter what you play, as long as there are enough tanks and healers. We’ve smoothly cleared 7/7 from the start. The raid was ridiculously easy even before the nerfs. And best of all, we don’t use log our raids, as it would be quite laughable at level 25 content.
No need to sweat

Because in this game nothing to do, except being competitive, game is too easy

I think there is nothing wrong with being competitive but, to be honest, SOD doesn’t have the content for that. PvP is not balanced (blizz please DO NOT try to balance it!!!) and BFD is not a very hard raid… so there isn’t realy anything to “get fame” from clearing that thing hehe

This is something that I realized, too. Comparing SoD with 2019 Classic when I started to play WoW is such a big difference, at least from my perspective. People rushing a lot in SoD, I am having a hard time to find people to just speak with or do some silly things around, random helps, etc. Most of the guilds already have content on farm and doing 3rd or 4th character leveling.
For an example, my guild in 2019 cleared Ragnaros on 30.12.2019., so it’s 3 around 3 months after release. Still have that pictre in my PC and had the most memorable moments from every raid while we progressing to reach this goal. Even after that, I made some really nice friendships that I still have contact with and I am so grateful that I had a chance to enjoy and experience something like that. Hoped (and still do) there is a chance to repeat that experience in SoD and that’s why I am playing it. I don’t care about efficient clears as long as I play with good people and have fun.
when zoomers are raised on smart devices, and become hollowed out, sterile culture, all thats left is competition, they cant offer anything else these people

There is a difference between being competitive and being a jerk and demand that everyone play a certain way, like the world will go under if we don’t play perfect all the time.
I dislike this change in how most people play, but it’s what it is. I don’t see this mindset changing anytime soon sadly.
I was in BFD for the first time yesterday, and one person god mad at me for not killing the totem in time. I mean can I get at least 1 run to get familiar with the fights? I checked on youtube for a quick guide, but it’s a whole other thing to actually do the fights for the first few times.
People have no patience anymore or understanding and want instant gratification on everything. I really hate this view.

Self pressure is coming from playing with the wrong people. (randoms)
Nobody stops you from having fun. Do your thing …
Look for a guild with people that share same interests or enjoy your time solo.
Other people are no standard how to play WoW. As you said, have fun …

It’s competitive because they mentioned that SoD phases were in weeks, so straight away people fear the limited time of each phase and missing out on content. This is the main reason I wanted a lot longer per phase so you can enjoy the RP as opposed to enduring it.
This is only true to some extent, the fact of the matter is most people would be competitive regardless of the time between each phase.

That’s yet to be proven but I understand your theory.
See that’s the thing, they probably don’t have much going on in the real world. Hence in-game achievements mean a lot to them.
People play for different reasons, ur best bet is to form or join a guild of like-minded individuals that can enjoy it at ur own pace.
Theres really nothing else to it, some people want to push server firsts, some want to Speedrun, some only do pvp, many min max and play only for character improvement and some just do it for fun like urself, and all of that is completely fine. You cannot dictate how people spend their paid game time, but you can go trough the effort of finding people who enjoy the game in the same sense as you do.

The major issue is leveling guides and guide addons. Originally you had to figure almost everything out yourself, carefully read quests. Whereas now it’s: use the speedrun guide and follow the dots all the way.
Major issue here is “U” don’t have friends there still plays and now the barrier is too high to join or what?
because the content is piss ez
I ask our warrior this every time he asks for a summon so he can maximise his blood shard uptime
And the irony of the whole thing, is that BFD for example is not even a raid. They may have named it a raid because its endgame, but there is really nothing complex to do, everything is easy its like doing a dungeon. But the fact remains that people will always choose the easy way and whatever brings them the win and the most rewards with the least effort. Its nerve wracking but its the way it is my friends.
My guild in SoD isn’t like that at all. We accept every class, role, and build, and the first time we were in the raid, literally no one but the raid leader knew the mechanics, and we decided that we could check them online if we got a wipe. We still got to clear the raid before the reset, and we’re just farming it these days.

Was Molten Core really complex?
No not even close, just talking about current endgame
