Why is Havoc DH getting zero complexity in Shadowlands?

Seriously it seems messed up that all the other classes are getting new abilities with higher skill cap and DH is going to remain as simple as ever. Did Blizzard not hear people screaming for past two years to make DH more complex than 3-button spec?

Funny how people complain dh is 3 button spec.

Yet all specs are 3-4 button rotations…

it’s funny how common it is to hear something repeated that isn’t true and can be proven easily false. Seriously, when you repeat this it makes you look silly and incompetent.

DH is literally 1,2,3 that’s not the case for many classes.

To reply to the question…

In Shadowlands they are getting more abilities but most classes aren’t changing terribly from their original specs, they’re just getting greased up a bit.

I’m not sure if that means the rotation is going to change terribly much, Blizzard likes that some classes are easier to play by design.

DH is just very simple, very powerful to use and makes you feel like a hero and I think they’re ok with that to a degree.

Is not how many button, is the fact that you actually spam 2 buttons most of the time regardless if it is AoE, ST or Cleave.

EyeBeam is on a 30s CD.
Blade dance what 9 sec?
The rest of the time is chaos strike and demon bite.

It does not matter if it is AoE or if it is ST, you still use those 2 abilities on CD.

There is no thought or risk of messing up your rotation because you only have 1, in every situation.

It’s the first time I’m commenting on dh related topics, but go off luv, use me for your frustrations if that makes you feel better.

As opposed to let’s say destruction warlock’s immolate, conflagration on cooldown, incinerate and chaos bolt. 4 buttons out of which one is resource dependent.

Or moonkin wrath, moonfire (dot, just refresh), sunfire (dot, just refresh), starfire, starsurge when you have the resource. Roughly 5 buttons. Out of which 3 are cast what, ever 20 seconds, otherwise it’s wrath spam or starfire spam.

Or let’s go for shadowpriest, pain once every 20sec, vamp touch same, mindblast, mind flat filler, void bolt. 5 spells out of which 2 are dots, one is simply a filler.

Shall we go into tanking next? Or did I make the point?

All classes have been dumbed down. Get over yourselves. This isn’t the same game as it was in tbc or wrath. Demon hunters class design simply reflects the current state of this game.

Really, get over the class and target the real issue, which is class design.

They’ve obviously listened to all those who want a more Classic experience and have decided that DH is that experience.

Except that it isn’t. DH spec has a rotation of 5 buttons.

well its definetly not the same game as in TBC with warlocks literaly spamming 1 button  it got much more complicated :joy:

If you think other classes do not change their rotation based on the number of target then you are delusional, especially coming from a priest player.

As i said I am not commenting on the number of button being press in a certain situation, but the fact that you have those 4 /5buttons, and you use them regardless of the situation you are into, you just press them on CD.

And so does outlaw.

I could be reading this wrong but I count at least 6 different spells in the standard opener for a Havoc DH and the ‘rotation’ being dependent on what you are fighting and what talents you take.

Some could argue that the class is not as simplistic as the memes would like to suggest.

While I can’t say I agree completely you do have a very fair point.
People are complaining alot about how easy DHs are to play (I made a post yesterday about this that now has quite a few replies) yet I see alot of other classes with rotations that really aren’t that much harder either.
I can’t speak for alot of classes because I haven’t played all at a higher level but I can speak for DH, Fury Warrior, Shadow Priest and Beast Mastery Hunter and all these specs really aren’t that much harder than DH.
I’ve geared some other specs aswell and gotten familiar with their rotations and abilities and I feel like I can safely say that alot of classes or specs really aren’t that much more difficult than DHs.

Yeah and demon hunter is OutLaw rogue without:

  • combo point management
  • blade flurry
  • RNG dice roll

Because it’s vital in games such as MMORPGs to have a range of difficulties between classes.

So those who want a easier time with their class so they can focus on mechanics have options.

And those that enjoy the challanges of their class have their options also.

Every class reaching the same difficulty level would be bad game design entirely. As in a game which is susposed to be playable by anyone no longer can due to the game not being friendly to players with RL disadvantages and more.

For example a 1 armed player would find it much harder to play the game comparatively to 2, which having a much easier class to play would make much sense for.

Arthaaritius and more can also affect your ability to play faster paced classes.

DH was brought in to be a simple easy to play class and anyone could walk through the door and pick it up.

It’s perfectly fine for some classes and speccs to be easy mode.

Having had a quick look at some old guides, Wrath was hardly the high point of class rotation.

Shall I quote you again?

Outlaw does NOT change their rotation based on AoE or ST. Your argument about class complexity is 100% unrelated to your statement. You are wrong, accept it.

Still they have some point of complexity above DH despite them being not really much more difficult.

That was not what your argument was about, don’t try to change it.
