We are indeed a snazzy race, bunch of scavenging survivors or ruthless pirates.
This one is more accurate to our server. Only 25% Horde.
Not everyone on Horde rp’s so the % of actual rpers is probably a bit lower, then we have to look at the fact that Horde has been more guild focussed the last years and not so much casual rp in a hub like SW has. Then the faction is also split with PCU and others that don’t want to interact with PCU and vice versa.
One thing i’ve noticed myself these last couple of years and this is not Horde exclusive, is that often members only show up for events but not day to day casual rp. Which results into one of two things. 1. The member stays more or less an unknown within the guild and doesn’t feel part of it due to the little interaction this member has with the rest but somehow still manages to blame others for it or 2 the GL has to do so many event that he eventually burns out and the guild does down the drain.
Another reason can be that it’s the end of an expansion and Wrath just launched.
Personally i hope RP overall will pick up again once were in DF.
Clueless lmao
Clueless as in your saying everybody does this and I am apperently blind?
Or clueless as in I should have opened my eyes up sooner clueless?
This one. All the other furry races have had (or have ongoing) the same issues, as does a ton of human and elf RP, and some draenei, and trolls, and orcs- basically, the issue is everywhere.
Wouldn’t know about twitter, far as i know that has been a coomer hellhole since the great tumblr exodus, but ingame? I wouldnt call it normal, but it is (unfortunately) not rare either.
Yeah but only because you are clueless and need to put down the bottle.
If you search ‘worgen’ into Twitter’s search function it will almost inevitably have characters in the nude or doing sexual acts. Same with pandaren and I’m fairly confident it’s true of tauren.
A lot of the time it’s artists posting their own work - commissions pay the bills and nsfw stuff pays significantly more in a lot of cases - but it’s people from AD, moonguard, or even outside of rp realms that are paying for those.
There is difference between doing erp in the open and public while in-game, and artists creating media outside any official WoW website. And open public chat erp doesn’t happen, no matter what you try to insist. If it did, it would get reported, publicly shamed, and banned out of server, hopefully.
For the artwork, people go out of their way to see that, and it’s obviously part of the business since forever, cuz adults do adult things.
EITHER WAY! Lets say that people wake up! Shepple have listened. You’re the leader, and have lots of officers doing whatever you say.
Here is the problem - there are random rp guilds. They follow the rules, and there’s no erp in public, obviously. But people are people, and adults do adult things. Some do various things in private, and you have no idea of knowing that, since it’s in whispers/party chat. Two people do it in private, just cuz they can. It happens randomly, by random people, in random locations, and random times of day.
What do you do?
Do you spy on every possible person? How many people have to be on that task? How often? Entire day?
Same applies to anything outside the guild, and on internet. There are multitudes of websites, and every one of them can have artwork that could “tarnish” the reputation of your beloved vulpera race. You can’t delete it, people can make any art they desire, and post it anywhere, cuz you know, they’re adults.
What do you do? You spy even more? You point fingers and ridicule everyone? You create even bigger atmosphere of lack of trust, and paranoia? Because I don’t see a clear solution to your complains.
I’m genuinely curious about your ideas how to solve this issue of yours, that’s not destructive, and actually can be implemented.
Agreed there. N othing wrong with artwork in t he right places.
However.
It does at times. Seen it. It’s stupid but it happens.
Mostly it’s different cultures in the Horde being so different they wouldn’t spend much time together in comparison to the Alliance. We’ve found it difficult ourselves to stretch our imagination as to why we’d go and spend a few days in a town chiefly comprised of huts and tents when we could be in a Goblin town or city.
High Elves decimated the Blood Elf community and have somehow caused a near-Moonguard level shift where there’s more High Elves about claiming they’re a dying race even though you’ll find twenty milling about the park on an evening in Stormwind than there are Blood Elves in Silvermoon. Though I can assure you that if they ever make a HD Silvermoon City, there’s going to be many new turncoat stories where Elves who dramatically betrayed the Horde will suddenly run back.
On that day we will learn that the ren in ren’dorei is actually a contraction - re’n.
The full name is retcon’dorei.
Oh, I know it can happen, and I remember recent topic about harbor area of Stormwind incident. But definitely it’s not something any guild just endorses or does outright. I hope, at least ^^
apology for poor english
where were you when horde dies?
i was sat at home drinking moonberry juice when thrall ring
“horde is kill”
“no”
It really doesn’t help that any good-aligned character has had plenty of times to question the Horde’s BFA arc, before and after the expansion, and it even makes sense that some would just jump ship.
Unfortunately there are/were people who tried to do this and even people who post their private ERP screenshots to shame their ex-friend or because they were pushed to do so by others.
It’s why I think private, hidden ERP between adults should be left to the their own devices, and people who expose these guys are, in the long-term, doing harm to the community.
To clarify: I have never done ERP myself (though I know and RPed with people who did) but I think denouncing others for doing something private that others don’t see will not promote a healthy community, and rather creates an incentive for stalkers and witch-hunts.
Yeah, I heard of such behaviors, and how it created toxic communities. I’m all for interesting relationships in RP, that aren’t about erp.
I think it could be achieved more so, by creating healthy environment with good rp and being the example, rather than attacking others. It does make a difference, even if slowly.
It’s definitely rare–rarer than it was when I first came to the server–but it absolutely does still happen here and there. Unfortunately, it’s also rarely punished, largely because Blizzard works off of how many reports someone gets instead of the content of what they were doing. The public shame is more likely, but the people who do public ERP are usually on throwaway characters – they can delete, reroll, and get right back to business afterwards if that’s their preference.
Yeah; it’s a bit weirdchamp to sneer at people for making NSFW art. If it’s kept on a platform that isn’t WoW and has content disclaimers, it’s absolutely not a problem except for when people try to needlessly make it one.
I think a healthy mindset to have is to acknowledge that the player population is a tiny minority of the actual population of any given in-game settlement. Stormwind is a bustling metropolis, so twenty high elves wandering around is a tiny amount when compared to that.
Do the same with most races (orcs especially) and you’ll be blinded by something awful.
“blinded by something awfull” already gave me the vibes of: “No nonononononononono”
