I see this all the time on both PvE and PvP servers on EU. It’s usually Horde players killing key quest givers in locations such as Elwynn Forest and Westfall, hindering progress for new/low level players. I haven’t seen Blizzard take a strong stand against this kind of behaviour, and I sincerely doubt that my reports or tickets will do anything. I’m trying to level an alt on a PvE server right now, but seeing ‘Moonbrook is under attack!’ all day and hearing people mention their Traitor dude being killed over and over by an Undead Rogue really dampens my spirits and makes me regret re-subscribing to this game. I love Classic WoW, but I do not approve of griefing and I don’t even care about PvP - that’s why I re-rolled to a PvE server. I just want to be able to play the game in peace and not have griefers ruin my progress.
the implementation of dkp system is the punishment they get.
also in pvp servers people die along with the quest givers, so ur not experiencing the worst scenario
As far as I can remember, on a PVE server where no pvp solution presents itself intentionally killing quest mobs / npc / escorts to grief was actually a reportable offense. Now I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that thrown around the forums a few times. I do know if you were horde and you kill that escort quest mob between Darkshore and Ashenvale while it’s active used to get you a 48hour break. I learned that the hard way a long long time ago.
They get punished with a dishonorable kill
Strange rule if true. Why make something killable then punish for doing it. The dhk system seems enough.
I’ve received two bans since vanilla launched years ago, one was for killing the escort mob as I passed it… and the other was for accidentally despawning the Un’Goro demon for the hunter quest. (I tried to help said hunter)
Bad game design if something is killable but killing it means a ban.
Can’t wait after I get rank 14, so I can spend all day killing quest NPCs without any penalty.
I will ask you this then: “Was it worth it” and then “What did it cost?”.
It is a bannable offence.
On a PvE server it’s definitively against the rules.
Report them and offer them a two day break from WoW for XMas
Yep, that’s about how long until Blizzard look at your report and act on it.
If they’re repeatably killing the same quest giver over and over then I’m pretty sure that’s a bannable offense.
But imagine that idiot. His RL must be hard.
The thing is, DKs are well and good, but they just dont punish someone who does not give a damn about the honor system.
