Hello blizzard and readers. All people I meet really thinks the same about raiding and mythic season content. Why is the scaling so hard in every dungeon and decline train keeps on giving.
https://youtu.be/fMeYvXyHeSU?t=527 ← (this dude i agree with watch on warning that it contains mature warning) the whole season one of all dungeons and raid is over scaled as can be it shouldn’t feel frustration to even logg in to wow and do content.
Yeah delve gearing kind of screw over the early experience for many players.
It is so easy to get full 600+ ilvl from delves, while even regular m0s are harder and needs at least basic mechanic knowledge to complete (with 570-580 gear).
This had as a consequence that everyone gets champion/hero track gear from delves before m+ is even out, and wants to jump to 5-10s without even knowing the base dungeon.
Ofc this does not bode well, because blizzard does a really bad job at “training” people in order to become better at the content they are in.
So yeah:
Everyone starting at 605-610 ilvl made gearing irrelevant at start.
The people that spent time/effort in raising their rio in the first week went ahead.
The people that though that gear would help them push keys got left behind.
The split is now that big that the difference in knowledge between people doing 10-11s and people doing 7-8s is huge.
People who are not accustomed to doing 10’s and above are now being faced with those numbers in M+ and then they say it is too hard. M+ now starts at a level that was a 10 in last expansion. People cant seen to get their heads around that. A M0 is now a ten. The stuff is staring you right in your face at the start. Bring your nappies.
If you, not you personally, did not do 10’s or above in the old system you have no room to complain about the current system. Seriously. No room to complain. You never did it. So now that you are faced with doing that level of difficulty and you, not you personally, find it hard, then maybe it is time to look in the mirror and accept your limitations.
I do. I know where my limits lie. Not reached them yet due to gear increases that are still possible.
My advice is to not rely or even use hero track as most wont even get the crests to upgrade them and then they are stuck with them when the old gear could have been upgraded.
People whose place was formally between 5 and 10 are below a current M0 even. Gear can help you over come this, of course. But the questions regarding reflexes, dungeon knowledge will be asked.
Personally i think timewalking items scaling (i mean random drop of ilvl 130) and mats should be scaled to current expansion not staying at low lvl, so people could sell those items or use them on alts - lets say i got today about 30 green items doing timewalking while leveling my alt - they were all ilvl 130 … a bit gold it is but would be nicer if that would be at least ilvl 480-515 , and materials it irritate me as i have to sell or throw away low lvl mats i dont want… just give us goodie bags instead of them in timewalking with like 2 - 5 mats or gold
on player note… player lvl 55 healer joining in is unable to heal lvls 80 even though we scaled to lvl 30
It feels like the majority people are spread thin in a layer of making toxicity. I know some will be better its just the scaling i question. The Dungeons some adds run pull other adds like Siege. Or stonevault first boss gets you to 4% health as a caster. How to keep up with 5 things you need to interupt at the same time as constantly being at 10% health. Personally i find it annoying more than team building
Blizzard are not even giving the care to the player who puts in time but gets nothing in return either a key depletion or a key lever. That topic is old but the content is over scaled for healers and tanks. I dont know how they gonna gap this boring afk feeling when searching for a group
Tutorials won’t help, proving grounds won’t help, NOTHING will help, it will only reduce the percentage of people who don’t know basics by 1-2% but the absolute majority of… Unpleasant people just don’t want to learn, they just want to turn off their brain and press buttons with absent mind after hard day of work or smth, while wow requires some dedication.
This will be the case. But still why should content be tuned so above the timescale some people really want to play with the highest problems are the time wasted is not restored by key lever nor Blizzard. They need to adress this.
You know what actually helps? Doing the dungeons in m0 with 570 ilvl. You actually learn the 1-2 important abilities per boss, and what trash REALLY hurts, while you breeze through the rest of the dungeon.
Then, in a +3 key with 590 ilvl, you actually see that some casts from the trash hurt abit, while others can be ignored.
Then at +5 with 600 ilvl, you kind of get the idea of what route to follow, and what to prio in the key.
If delves did not rob the most casuals of players the opportunity to progress the dungeons linearly, people would not be feeling “stuck”.
TBF I just hope the next season they fix it by releasing delve gearing together with m+. If people actually can progress both paths at the same time, then people would be able to progress through m+ and actually learn the mode.
Blizzard should go back to the roots remove the key timer. Add so talking to people in game is a key point again, also nerf the keys damage so healers can keep up. Really this season feels stale. Also if this tuning and m+ and raid way of thinking goes on loads will quit wow. Majority of people are bored not even careing. They buy boosts to skip the parts of even doing an mmorpg. I feel like season one of TWW is over tuned really i dont know why a new player should play a game who works against them. Both in social aspects and progress wow feels none rewarding.
You mean like they have in classic? People can already play that.
Current m+ system is one if not the best addition they made to the game, and the timer is not going away (since that is the only way to actually challenge dps players).
The reason the current season is getting all the negative feedback is because of the weird scaling curve caused by the gear between the 7-10 range of keys.
Really get what you mean im just talking about retails problems. I tried battle Blitz. Instant quee got inside and people were talking to each others none were silent. Won loads of games got to 1950 rating with team effort. Truth to be told i think if Blizzard doesnt think about season 2 and fixing m+ loads will quit the game. Litterally the pve feeling is rather dead in this expansion. Their attitude towards the pve feels stale. I remember when you felt raiding was fun. Theres no rewarding things in the pve life. All silent leaves key depletion or decline train. I think Blizzard should add solo shuffle to m+ as well. PvP in season one felt more rewarding than pve both gearing wise PvP feels way more polished than m+ also i dont main PvP, but it speaks volumes about the game when they care more about the PvP side, than pve side. As for raiding gearing wise you get no gear in the group loot systems. Really theres loads of problems but none at HQ doing stuff to make m+ and raiding better.
I dont think it is over tuned or tuned too hard in the lower brackets where i am at the moment. I played over 10’s in BfA and SL and was well on my way in DF before i got bored.
It is meant to be hard. I am now casting the same non stop resto druid spells i did when i was doing mid teen keys. I feel the same pressure now in that range.
People just need to get used to the fact that M0 is now M10. To me it feels about right.
It helps if people actually used interupts, killed priority targets as soon as possible, had the ability to see and target high priority targets right away without them being marked and deal with boss mechanics at the same time.
I am no elitist scum. But i know those SL dungeons like the back of my hand and i can spot a player who did high keys by what they do in those dungeons. Personal positions on and during certain events tell me how seriously you took this dungeon. There are certain mechanics in necrotic wake you have to be in a certain position or you die. If you are not there i know you did not do high keys because on high keys the mechanic one shots you. THis is not elitism talk. It is just talk from experience of doign those dungeons at a medium level.
Did not state anything with elitism. Its just pve feels stale you got to farm five billion tokens. Meanwhile dealing with key leaves rude people key always going down when its not your fault. PvP your gear scales your done and can enjoy the game. Litterally the problems pve has too much things and we havent got the time. Blizzard needs to deal with the m+ and raiding side of wow.
If you are doing a 4 key then get people who have done at least a 3 with good time. Be picky. Dont just take anybody.
With some dungeons there are skips that you can use if your group is not strong. A rogue can let you get past that. Or use a lock gate to skip. Then after end boss is dead go back to beginning and kill trash for %.
People need to use what they are strong in. A rogue really needs to hand kicks, as do hunters in my opnion. A hunter without an interupt is useless in my eyes. I say this since i have a hunter and had the interupt since cata. A hunter can also dispell enrage, if specd into it. I think it is a talent now. Its been so long now.
But people really need to use their classes and specs. This is not vanila any more where you can just do DPS on boss and stand still.
I am only an average M+ that gets to about 15. That is my limit. But if you are playing M+ with people who do not use their class well then you should play with others.
I disagree. Many people from all walks of life are big fans of Baldur’s Gate 3, and that game requires way more braincells than wow does.
I think there are way different issues. I think for many older people the game is probably simply too fast for example. Also, have you seen Blizzard’s patch notes? How can people even keep up with that. A couple of classes also take roughly 40 keybinds to play. Now, if you have your keybinds figured out, it’s fine, but I bet many people are 1. clicking abilities, and 2. are only able to bind maybe 12-20 keys comfortably.
I have a system, where I could bind 70 keys easily, but I don’t think it’s good for the game in general, because the barrier to entry is too high
This is also an topic i think of when i think of new gamers there’s too much to press meanwhile people expect so much out of hard scaled content. Takes the fun out of the game. Not that i have any other mmorpg to compare wow with but it feels stale having these problems in pve meanwhile pvp the problems aren’t even there since you can play freely on a win or lose basis.
personally I think the class designers should be ashamed with these underwhelming class re hauls.
For starters blizzard could do better with their money to teach people how to play their game with warning signs to what to doged and expect in mythic, People gets moody having to teach other people stuff even when they have told the same person 17 times be weary of that rock.
Blizzard as a whole really should step up their game add in new features for m+ to show the persons how to play what to do interrupts and builds.
Also Think there’s too much key binds that doesn’t even make the game any better or fun.
Also mythic+ Feels doggo compared to dragonflight.
