Why is there no honor cap warning?

Last week i returned to classic after not playing since january, saw the pvp system was added and it was AV weekend… I got hyped to grind these ranks and did nothing but this mind-numbing AV rush until reset. Then after reset i saw my low rank and did some research only to find out i already hit the honor cap after about 1 hour of playing, i basically wasted my entire weekend in that hellhole…

So today i was inspecting some other low-rank fellas grinding AV and i saw a lot of them are way over their honor cap, they’re wasting so much time because there is no ingame guidance to the honor system…

Maybe they have fun playing there? I guess that was the original idea of this game.

well back in 2004 most people werent grinding honor in av like their life depended on it

a large majority of the playerbase back then farmed honor because they actually enjoyed it. crazy i know

Back in 2004 there were no BG’s.

This is just another example of how badly designed the ranking system is, as you need an addon to knows if you’re actually making progress or not.

as stupid as the ranking system is in vanilla no addons are required

legit type something along the lines of classic honor brackets

do bg until u reach the respective number. its not rocket science. u chose to not learn about how the honor works on a basic level and choose to blame the game instead

This ain’t true - honour worked compleydiffernt back in vanilla; you had diminishing returns and AV honour was very sloooow as the BG rarely popped. WSG was where people ranked most.

im so used to people trying to change what i said on this forum

No addon is needed, just google how it works and reach the required number you googled in game with NO in-game indicator you should stop or reached any sort of milestone.

The Vanilla honor system is completely broken, not fit for purpose and if any MMO released it like 6 month into the game as Blizzard did, today’s Youtube and reddit community would rip it to complete shreds and laugh it off the market. Blizzard just got away with it because they were the first truly big mmo.

There is absolutely no logical reason ranking shouldn’t just be a second XP bar, with or without downranking.
