Why is there nothing to do in the Emerald Dream zone?

This is not a true “major patch” zone! Emerald dream is more like the .5 or .7 between-patch mini zones like the Forbidden reach, and even these have more things to do.

I want a true end-of-expansion zone like Zereth Mortis, where you had content for months on end.

Where are the rares in Emerald Dream? Where are the treasure chests? Zone activities? Why is it so small? If feels like the “foresty” part of another zone, not like a zone of its own.

Nobody does the seeds planting thing. I can’t find another player to do it together to fill it up. The Emerald dream is empty. I can’t find any players at all for any activities there - PVP or PVE. The original 4 zones have more people in them.

I couldn’t be more disappointed. I hear the raid is good, which is great, however I don’t raid and I don’t care about this type of content at all. I want a good end-game zone where I can spend my time and feel like out in the world and in an MMO.

i think devs wanted not to focus just on the last zone. In theory you can do rift, superbloom, coalescence (or somthin like that).

BUT Bein a person who jumped 9 months i still have a lot to do.

I can understand your frustration, but sincerely ZM idea of flyin from one rare to another one, isnt exactly my idea of fun.

Also the music. I mean, the music isn’t baad, but … this is supposed to be the Emerald Dream, fergossake. Can’t they at least repurpose some of the great music from earlier expansions, if they can’t think up anything worthy now?

But I digress.

The purpose of this runt of a zone is to provide 3 440+ pieces of gear per character per week. And a sort-of story, I guess.

Adding more to it would probably not be cost-effective.

I think what you are referring to as “missing”, is the mandatory chores that you HAD to do, in previous expansions.

Because yes, compared to what we are used to over the past few expansions, we have nothing to do… unless you are willing to set your own goals that is.

Personally I have lots of collecting to do in the new zone, but what I DO agree on, is that the “quality” of the activities in most areas seem dull. Planting seeds grants many rewards… but they don’t exactly get my blood pumping

Hopefully seeing how blizzard is heavily focusing on changing open world content next expansion, I have hope that open world content will get more fun.

Look in the group finder. You can normally find groups for seeds that are 20+ players.

Yeah it was a bit dull. I just do the weeklies and then never go there. Zereth Mortis was definitely better with the console.

I do this on Wednesdays but only 5 seeds for the weekly quest. I add a seed, a couple of loads of dewdrops and then click things. Get my 1/5 tick, some rep hopefully and a bunch of crap to fill my bags.

It does seem like current open world content is done on Wednesday or Saturday when there is a critical mass of players doing stuff.
WQs aren’t worth the travel time, let alone the time to actually do them. 50 rep and maybe a crest with some 415 gear that is barely worth doing on alts.

I don’t really want to do chores (for want of a better word) every day though.
In MOP I could choose which faction to do (maybe all of them) but when we got WQ and emissaries you were forced into doing what you were told to do.

Watching paint dry is more fun than this crawl of an event…

I see your point, and it’s a good one.

However, this is exactly what I want - to collect toys and mounts and just fly around and have a good time and do things with other players. I don’t want chores ofc…

But I haven’t found any toys and mounts in the new zone until now, because there are no chests and rares. I literally go to the zone and I’m not sure what to do. I saw some youtube video that you can get epic mounts from planting seeds, so I plant as many as I can, but I only get a few herbs or cloth. I do all world quests for epic seeds and I plant them, but I can’t fill it up and I suppose that’s why it gives me bad rewards.

But at the end of the day, even if I did the seed planting perfectly, it’s still very bad. It’s not interesting at all.

So I spend some time in the Emerald dream, fly around trying to find something going on, and in the end I give up and try to find queues or something

(I am the OP, had some lvl 60 alt set on the forum for some reason…)

hahaahh yes! im now accustomed with chores (i fished all the coins in dalaran fountain), but superbloom is somethin i can do just once every week with just 1 char.

There was a lot to do. It’s just that nothing really unlocks with time. You were just able to clear it very early.

And besides, it’s actually not the last zone in DF. We’ve got Gilneas incoming.

when a druid says “there is nothing to do here” in a druid super mega zone.

This patch is seriously disappointing to druids. I understand that may seem crazy, but there are so many promises unfulfilled here it’s almost surreal.

you think so o.O i done tons of stuff here on druid, still got more forms to get and rep for that rep 18 rawr mount.

i guess if you´ve done everything for the forms and mounts then yea, you just have to wait for another magical zone with things to do in it.

i´m lazy to do that plant thing too, you get a autumn mount.

I’ve explained it in other threads but to sum it up: It doesn’t look like the dream, you can’t dream your way in there, druid quests were never finished even with such a golden opportunity, lighting is wrong, there’s problems with the lore, the legendary is NOT for druids (how does that even happen? They must be trolling) and much more.

EDIT: I also won’t forget how DK’s didn’t get a special legendary in SL, but hunters did. Absolute 100% meme mode.

The Emerald dream is the definition of Quality over Quantity. Most if not all of the activities in the ED are well-designed. The problem is that there is simply not enough of it, which isn’t great for an MMO.

You also have to consider that many people finished the zone weeks ago when they got their aug rune or hit max renown.

I wouldnt describe Superbloom as Quality. Is just the quest we had in ZM revamped. The other events like rifts are more like that, but not superbloom.
The story yes. i agree. I like it. And the quests were interesting (better than others)
The environment? gorgeous as usual.

Remind me which activity in ZM compared to Superbloom. Because I’m honestly scratching my head.

The main thing I remember about ZM was just farming rares for rep.

remember the WQ when you had to follow the big droid (calvin?) from which the apples fell? Isnt exactly the same thing. But somethin similar.
