Why is there still a Subscription fee

Hey,

i don’t understand why we still have to pay a monthly sub for the game, I mean there are still bugs, lag, and so on you should make it something like preferred status where you get something for the sub. What exactly are you giving us for the subscription fee.

Simple because the people that provide you that entertainment need some money so they can eat and live while you are being ungrateful.

They need that sub fee.

and other MMO’s don’t need to eat?

Well other mmos use microtransactions to make a living.

Like shop for vanity stuff and etc…

Wow also has a shop with vanity items and it keep`s adding more and more to it. I just wish they would remove sub or give more then just access to game.

You get to play their game…

It is quite an out-dated system. But since it has been like this since the start, it will most likely stay. Enjoy convincing the investors to drop the subscriptions.

Well you got to give an example of what more you would want from them to make to justify it all.

The moment WoW goes F2P will be the day I quit WoW.

I despise F2P games.

Ive said that to ESO forums before they make it free and i will say it again:
If the game now at its current state has mogs/pets/mounts/toys on the shop while in sub mode, if it gets free it will sell mythic gear.

Is that what you want?

Do you have any idea how many people work at Blizzard? Then have you thought about much it costs to pay all those people sensible salary?

The shop blizz has so far is very small all things considering. If couple of things is added there every year it’s fine. Don’t like it, don’t buy it.

i do wonder how many of you have honestly played a f2p game, games such as RIft that were f2p didnt suffer lag lol, they lack content entirely, generally because they run on a team a fifth of a size of our dev team. this is because their Profits arent fixed into stone.

Also none of them are really “F2P”

the “F2P” models MMORPGS have in some cases, work out to far more then £9 a month to be able to play properly, thats just factual.

F2P Games Take more money a month then subscription based games, Please dont not fall into some “belief” they’re f2p model is to make their game more customer friendly, because it isnt.

it actually makes a Heap more cash then WoW Does.

Because its very rare, u get someone to commit to a MMORPG without putting any cash in… the aknowledgement of being inferior to everyone without putting money in is Crazy.

you think ur going to be to even do a +5 Key in a F2P WoW age. trust me u wont…

Blizzard is a small indie company who gladly accept all donations they can get.

Yea i feel like wow would suck if it went f2p so many things would be a broken mess and unplayable they need most of that sub money to work on the game and to pay their employees.

So yea I’d quit too if it went f2p.

think the issue is, alot of u overestimate the quyantity of players in other MMORPGS and Underestimate how many play WoW.

for example, if i go onto WoW RIO and look up my Warlock.

my warlock is rank 101,000 while having every key above a +15… this means theres 101k Warlocks only pushing a higher RIO then myself (my warlocks RIO is 2778)

THis decludes any warlocks that Dont play M+ (Which is actually a majority of the playerbase.) all who do Old Raids, Transmog farm and every other activity in the game.

it also discludes every class.

and Every warlock achieving a RIO below my own…

if u think the average f2p game Doesntg evenn hold a 100k Players… u then simply reliese we have More Warlocks running around azeroth then other games having running around in their entire game.

then u reliese their all accessing the ability to buy the same Servers…

then u kinda ge the Jist.

given its Told to be roughly 5% of the playerbase who do +15s yet u’d likely tally up the Log positions uptoo over 1million Characters… its kinda obvious to how many players play WoW, regardless of how much time people trying to Cry “WoWs Dead”. theres actually still a Vast Playerbase.

F2P ruined other games, like Swtor. So yea, I’d quit too.

Because without it they would not be able to pay there staff or other costs and the game would shut down.

The cash shop does not have enough in it to support the game, go take a look at f2p games cash shops, way larger and filled with stuff like lootboxes paying for action bars ect.

If wow went f2p they would have to massivly increase stuff on cash shop, introduce paying for things like action bars, transmog, barber, character slots, bag slots, bank access, bank slots and much more. Free addons would be gone and replaced with cash shop paid for addons ect.

Now go look at other sub games like ffxiv, they too have cash shops with tons more stuff in, wow’s shop is about 10% of the size of theirs. There you even have to pay a higher sub for more bag slots.

Most f2p games charge a sub for everything unlocked gameplay wise unlocked (alot of stuff like mounts and extra races still costing extra), prefered for people that have paid in the past with some unlocks, and free with no unlocks. They all have paid race changes and server transfers, level boosts and such just like here.

As free or prefered you have to pay for tons of stuff to get a decent non limited playing experiance. Ontop of that even if you pay sub in them you want the cool mounts transmogs, pets race unlocks ect you have to pay again either in the shop or for lootbox keys to unlock lootboxes that have insane low droprates.

The only game i find tolerable as f2p is swtor and that is because i used to be a sub and used the free monthy cash shop currency to unlock everything and that took 4 years. If i went as a fresh player now i would have to spend hundreds, as it is now i only have the lesser exp restriction as a prefered and the races locked that came out after i stopped subbing.

You pay to enter their server and everything that comes with it.

They fix bugs and lag because it’s a profit for them. Happy customers and profit goes hand in hand.

Nothing you earned belongs to you and they can take it all away in an instant if they want to.
