WoW will go f2p if they can make more income that way or stay with a sub if they can’t. i.e. some people would play more if you removed the sub. barrier (like me), but others prefer paying a sub.
I have played Rift, SWTOR and GW2. Guild Wars 2 works well without a sub and the cash shop sells cosmetics etc.
Besides you can actually buy ingame gold… so whats the difference? theres pay to win, theres bugs and lags, I could say worse than private servers…
To be honest Im here just because they “keep my character” alive in their databases, and because we are up to date in content.
But paying that big sub for that little reward… not worth it.
I understand those who say they will leave the game if it goes F2P, but, are you sure you want to pay that sub for all those bugs and that huge lag?
I mean, if you work irl, I bet your boss wants the best of you, he wont be paying you for doing a lazy work, isnt it? I demand the same to this company
a subscription fee doesnt mean that there will be a guarantee bug free experience, the game has been around for 15 years and has a bunch of outdated code from old content, making a chance to something can affect something else that it should have nothing to do with so bugs happen. if there was no sub then there would be a lot more P2W stuff in game which would just lead to people getting annoyed they have to make money somewhere
I have to say, I feel like a lot more people would play the game if there wasn’t a subscription fee. E.g. the new Call of Duty, you buy the game and thats it. Obviously that is a completely different game, but my point is, in work people will say “hey get CoD” and its like “okay”. But you say “hey get WoW” and you have to buy the game and then pay monthly. People are deterred by the fact that they will have to continue paying to play. The more people that play, the more money they’ll make from the micro transactions. Adding transmogs, they have gold, pets, mounts etc. At first, sure the game may lose some money, but in the long run there will be a lot more people playing, more populated realms, and more micro transactions going through.
Same, but the reason I don’t make a big deal about it is that it will make me look bad if I continued my subscription, so yeah, I’ll rather just stay quiet about it.
I don’t want it to go FTP but considering we’re all paying a sub the content update cycle is terrible.
I’m surprised they’re still getting away with it. The amount of people that paid, what? £120? 130EUR? $180? this last year and got NOTHING for it is disgusting.
Why the majority hasn’t backlashed against this system yet is a mystery to me. Me? When the content updates dry up I disappear until expansion time.
Bobby Kotick needs to pay his legal fees to try & escape justice from being all buddy buddy with Epstein, visiting his island & flying on his lolita airways!
Boombocks, word to the wise…you might want to familiarise yourself with the laws on Libel… and then consider that unless you have got concrete evidence of wrong doing, rather than hearsay (Reddit doesn’t count), the finances for expensive lawyers and as much free time as you need for court appearances, that it is probably unwise to spank your keyboard with spurious innuendo, when ActivisionBlizzard know who you are…just saying.
If I were you, I’d delete that comment.
