Why new players are quitting by Venruki (video)

haha.
For me your pvp is not deep enough. This is not the point.

We have repeatable raids, m+, pvp.
Also we have questioning that takes pretty alot of time, if u’re a new player.

Agree. If we have metrics like rio/pvp rating/log parsers - queue should have alternative with auto group finder, based on metrics. What is the point in metric if it can be ignored.

Agree. And we don’t need any kind of borrowef power. It should be a part of character lvl progression, like talents.

Let’s hope that they will listen some feedback. At least we have some few breaths before next fiasco (any way business analysists will force to implement all this sht again).

p.s. was laughing so hard when they gave 10% rep bonus present, and it didn’t affect cortia researches, as far as It is items!

oh sorry. Didnt think there are still ppl playing pvp in shadowlands for anything else than gear for other content.
I have no clue about that one. As for me you can have your queue. But its a stupid idea.
Ever thought about getting yourself a buddy to play arena with? I think the idea was to be a team with one/two others and not swapping teams around like crazy?

Obviously, some ppl dont play pvp, that was my example. M+ are a good example most ppl would agree with, I guess, but they still suffer from the lfg issue and Sl version of m+ i just boring, if you ask me. Probably because there are only few dungeons and no real point to attempt it, unless you have one of the meta classes ppl are willing to invite.
Raids are not a repeatable content for me. Sure, some ppl enjoy spending weeks doing one boss for 500 times, but I would say these ppl are a small minority. Its one instance with the same script over and over again.
Questioning? You mean questing? Questing is kinda fun for new ppl imo. It just gets tedious and annoying, if you repeat it over and over again. The new guys most likely have fun questing for a while.

Doesnt work for a game that has majority of community boosted and ppl rage quit on daily bases or their class/spec get destroyed from patch to patch. Its completely normal thing that if you add somebody with who you play and had good time, he disappears the next week. And the community gets smaller and smaller, for good reasons…

he is right
i was playing with my brother when shadowlands launched and when we caped 60 and i told him we need to do torgast and all the other things
he did with me like 2 weeks in row
but then suddenly one day he said i don’t want to play
i rather be on private server and just spam BGs

It’s not even just those systems, things like having to grind out flying is also a pretty big source. My friend got really confused after they got a quest to go learn flying, went and learned flying, but couldn’t fly in BFA… Which is where it sends new players. But there’s quests that have them learn flying, buy it, everything… In which they cannot use it where they have to quest and what’s ‘current’ content for anyone that hasn’t bought Shadowlands.

Had to sit and explain to them ALL the stuff they have to do, to unlock it. For BFA it’s absolutely a ton of stuff, Pathfinder one and two. So much rep grinding, I imagine it’d take weeks of solid grinding to get. Doing your hamster wheel dailies, world quests full rotation, and extras that are not explained anywhere in game.

That just seems to be Blizzards style not just with the player power but with everything else players might be interested in, zones like Zuldazar feel AWFUL without flying and that’s the zone you have to do as Horde before even if you had flying unlocked you would be doing.

The devs own thoughts on where people should be matter more than where would be FUN to play first. Same thing with systems, they have an idea in their head of what THEY like and it’s gonna get put out just like that and people will learn to like it… Or not and they ‘fix it’ halfway later.

Legion was very fulfilling out in the world for regular players, but was done poorly I’d say everywhere else as a result of the systems and in the case of PvP golden traits and bad stat templates that favored certain classes/specs and not being able to change out gear/stats made PvP very un-fun.

PvP’s gearing system is still awful and not fixed, and PvE with the ‘weekly vault’ stuff is just as bad.

Sorry that I ignore the posts topic here, but the person in that video uses an addon that displays debuffs like interrupts and such on the enemies icon… Does anyone know the name of it? I would like to try it out.

We adults go to guilds and communities to not have to do this.

I come home from work and instead of 2 hours of lfg afk, I ask in the community who wants to play and i am enjoying the game.

For all the people who says all the streamers are the same and bad …you are wrong. As an example Venruki plays the game every day and streams it. Ofc for money but if you would watch his streams you would know He cares alot of the experience of New Player or casual Player. He is not too negative and not too positive. He is reasonable.
To say every content creator is evil and bad is such bullsht. Some are bad and Habitat of negativety ( even they stopped playing the game) but many of them (like ven) do care alot and wants the best for the game and the Player.

Edit: that doesnt mean He is always right. But at the same time dont say He is wrong because He is a streamer/youtuber.

Venruki has right. Even in PvE, if you wanna play a new char or a new alt. You to go lvl 60 (it’s ok), you have to grind stuff, going to be hard in end of a patch but it’s ok.
You have to grind convenant and conduit, veeeeeeeeeeery boring.
You have to grind domination socket AND domination gear, you quit the game !

Apparently one of us lies about his adulthood and is just a teen spy!

You too, mate

The problem is - there is just a lot to do and there is a huge power difference. Levelling is still boring and takes quite a while. Renown is now easier to get but is still a burden. Getting the legendary isn’t particularly fun. 200 conduits are so low but upgrading them takes a huge effort (or a boring rift farm…) and then you can start gearing lol, which for PvP requires either dying since you have no gear or farming on another char to send RNG boxes. Then there’s still the huge honor grind.

For a guy that thinks of himself as a debonair open minded student of all things, you can be pretty myopic and closed minded on some things.

You just cover it well by writing paragraph upon paragraph of empty bluster.

How about actually looking at the content of the book and not just it’s cover before passing judgement?

Did your friend do literaly 1 dungeon a week ? You can get to 246 itlv and KSM in 2 weeks if you push enough m+ .

You dont have to grind anything unless you want to get CE and do +20s. I have multiple Alts which are now close to 250 itlv and have KSM and still use 200 itlv conduits and 0 domination gear.

Now I do agree with a lot of the point he makes. Shadowlands is definitely a mess of forced content which nobody should have to. And I haves always said from the start there is too much to do.

But You can’t take away from the fact that WOW is primarily an MMORPG adventure and M+,PVP and Raiding are optional endgame routes. Mr Lvl60 boost, would probably have quit under any expansion, because it sounds like WoW isn’t for him.

It’s the mentality that you can just buy a lvl 60 boost and just do PVP or M+ and not play any other part of the game (including the levelling) which is the reason this game is dying, and why we ended up with a mess of forced content grindy systems in the first place, instead of a beautifully well drafted story and adventure which WOW should be.

Well, I like to gear up once per expansion (not meaning seasons), so it can’t be everyone (I recommend using “the most people” instead in the future). I surely don’t like to gear up again the same time for alts (at least the few I care about, which would be essentially none). I have like 3-5 other PvE alts and I only actively play my Alliance Paladin (main) and my Horde Nightborne-Mage (second). Every other character just exists but I feel never the feeling “I want to play my DK” or “I want to play my Warrior” at any moment…

I more think it is about the mountain of sort of unknown things people look up when they want to play the game. The list is quite long. While realistically you can indeed just have a low level legendary and low level conduits (from a vendor even), and get your renown slowly. And still being able to have fun in the different types of content. Unless you really aim for the highest. But i do understand feeling discouraged.

I don’t think people are looking at the bigger picture to be fair. Why do we have ridiclous long time gates on everything? To prolong subs, and increase metrics fair play from a business perspective makes sense. BUT… why is this not coming from actual content? Ask yourself where is all the sub money going. You know the money your paying for future content.

£120 a year in subs for korthia, a raid and a new m+ affix and 9.1.5 is disgusting. For that money you could buy FF7 remake, latest battlefield and cod. Think how much content is in them 3 games, then think how much we got in 9.1 and 9.1.5 lol.

In before someone tries to justify it with you get all the previous expansions! It goes on server costs! Previous expansions come with latest expansions so no. And server costs are near enough nothing. We’ve seen blizzard has there own inhouse custom servers, part of their operational and development costs from the base expansion sales as we see on the quaterly earnings. I’ve hosted a server for 3000 players, through another company and it worked out under 10p a player for the month it really is a tiny cost.
