I think the reason they decided against is that in peoples memory BfA dungeons are still represented in bad memory.
And Timewalkes are a good way for nostalgia but with BfA and SL there is no real fond memory.
For Cata the problem whas mostly the world destruction, MoP while hated before is now something fondly, WoD whas problematic because missing content but the content itself whas liked but just to less.
BfA meanwhile has not even mostly fondly remembered dungeons so a BfA timewalk would rather convince people to log off then on.
i think it’s because bfa is the default expansion for leveling especially for new players so they might decided to push timewalking a bit since it’s still pretty active (maybe even more active than shadowlands) i’m sure it’ll come soon tho
I like bfa dungeons
But I think it won’t be included this year.
Legion timewalking released in 9.1.5, so probably, if there will be a BFA timewalking, it shall be around 10.1.5 or so
Better question, why no Classic timewalking?
Well
Some Vanilla dungeons are too long
For example Diremaul, Stratholme, and cave dungeon with Night Elves and crodociles and rest I forgot the names
Back in Vanilla, the long dungeon stook 1 hour or longer to finish them
I don’t know if another point is: many Vanilla raids were revamped or removed, as you can see Naxxaramas, Zul’gurub
Some. Don’t tell me they can’t find 6 that’s suitable. And Stratholme can be split into 2 parts, both are the correct length.
Though Revamped Vanilla Raids should make no problems with Dungeon Timewalking. But many Vanilla Dungeons are actually revamped too to represent time changes so actually part of Catatimewalk should be Deadmines, Stormwind Stockades, Shadowfang Keep, Stratholme, Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub and maybe Sunken Temple too.
In MoP timewalking should be beside Scholomance also Scarlet Halls, Scarlet Monastry and Ragefire Chasm.
WoD Timewalking should contain Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Downs, Razorfen Kraul and Uper Blackrock Spire.
So that leaves for a classic timewalk Wailing Caverns, Maraudon, Diremaul, Zul’Farrak, Uldaman, Blackrock Depth and Lower Blackrock Spire.
I would love that.
I don’t know where you get this from, quite a few dungeons from BFA are community favourites.
Kings rest, Atal’Dazar and Freehold especially.
Underrot and weycrest were very solid too.
aand we have 2 of them in rotation this season so i don’t think it has anything to do with that
Probably because a big majority of the classic dungeons got redesigned anyways. I don’t recall if any dungeon is still exactly the same as it was before the world revamp tbh.
Did a list
For some others really enjoyed those expansions
Usually a Timewalking update comes in the X.1.5 patch.
That’s probably why we don’t have it yet.
Precisely that is why there should be Classic Timewalking. It should contain Classic versions of dungeons that got redesigned. Ideally, the redesigned version should be available on other Timewalking so it can be compared. For example, having Classic Dead Mines in Classic Timewalking and revamped Dead Mines in Cataclysm Timewalking. Blizzard could do it because Classic servers exist. Everything that works on Classic servers should work in Retail too.
PD: Classic Zul’Gurub would be the ideal one for a Timewalking raid.
Some Vanilla dungeons are too long
I think in Classic, all Vanilla dungeons have been optimized by the Classic player base to make fast runs killing the minimum necessary, so I think that is no longer a concern.

They answered that in the last blizzcon.
If you want vanilla dungons there are realms already out there.

But we can’t timewalk to the redesigned versions either. Except for Scholomance, and even that is only since the latest roster change.

That was a stupid answer even back then. On par with the “you think you do, but you don’t” comment in terms on stupidity. There were TBC and now there are Wrath servers, and yet, timewalking is alive and well.
Did a list
Thanks.
So that leaves for a classic timewalk Wailing Caverns, Maraudon, Diremaul, Zul’Farrak, Uldaman, Blackrock Depth and Lower Blackrock Spire.
You sure Wailing Caverns, Zul’Farrak and Lower Blackrock Spire are identical to the old versions? For Zul’Farrak I’m 100% sure it changed in Cataclysm. For Wailing Caverns, I’m positive it changed aswell, but not 100% sure. Since Upper Blackrock Spire got included in WOD start, didn’t Lower change aswell? I don’t recall it being the same as it was in classic, but I may be wrong since I haven’t visited that place for 6-7 years.
That pretty much leaves only Maraudon, Dire maul and Blackrock Depths. All 3 annoying as hell if you ask me Pretty much no mechanics anyways, and just long & hard to navigate dungeons (I played in the OG classic and I couldn’t be more annoyed by these tbh).
That being said - I would love some changes to the rotations for sure, as you’ve mentioned already.
Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, ZG and ZA for Cataclysm.
Scarlet Halls & Scarlet Monastery for MOP.
WOD - Both Razorfen dungeons. I loved both in classic, and I loved both after the revamp. I will never forget doing Razorfen Kraul & Razorfen Downs in the OG classic though, such cool times.
