Why No Shadow/Void Paladins, Microsoft Blizzard?

You think that one of the hero talents for the Pallies would be a Void/Shadow one, but no. Only holy hero talents.

After all, while new the Void/Shadow Paladins are iconic for World of Warcraft.

Maybe because our pallies where always only about the light?

Because Paladins are strictly about “the Light”.

And then some… People familiar with Ashbringer lore will remember that the light was specifically used to purify the void artifact at it´s core

Void paladin is AFAIK about as lore consistent as an unholy druid or an arcane warlock… Please feel free to provide examples to the contrary if possible, I´m aware of none…

And BTW they are definitely not “iconic”, otherwise I´m fairly certain that I´d know about at least one example in the ca 10k years since the Sundering… I know of some that have been corrupted (most of the Mograine lineage and basically anyone with “scarlet” in their faction name), ones that have been raised from undeath to become death knights (again teh mograines come to mind), but none, zilch, nada that have, of their own volition, embraced the void and simultaneously remained paladins.

Why would you think that?
I don’t find that a logical idea at all.

Because their Iconic to WoW. While their were mostly draenei like Tyrant Velhari. They’re out there and looking cool. Also, 3 holy hero talents. Even the nature loving hunters get to play the death loving Dark Rangers.

Are they?
First I ever heard of the concept, honestly.

And it’s the spec I loathe most. Stupid concept that doesn’t fit hunters at all.

Velhari was however not a paladin, ever, but a vindicator. Similar concept, but completely different world, culture, and race.

Paladins did not exist on Draenor until we brought them there. And we did not go there to recruit non-azerothians into the order of the Silver Hand, but rather to kill as many non-azerothians as we could.

Well their in BC, WoD, and legion. Also, all hunters are rangers, it’s just that hunters picked nature magic while dark death and void maybe.

Void elves must be purged by the light.

only problems with them, there claiming void ladin. For Light sake, this is blasphemy.

She is even uses paladin themed skills.

Nope. I’m a beastmaster. No rangering here. :stuck_out_tongue:

I honestly never noticed any.
I suppose me not really liking the void because I don’t like edgy stuff, has to do with it.

As do all vindicators.

Still doesn´t make her a paladin, but still “just” a vindicator. Just like a US soldier wielding an AK-47 doesn´t suddenly become a russian citizen.

Also incorrect. Dark Rangers are very specifically followers of the former Banshee Queen, Sylovanas WIndrunner. It is therefore at best a stretch to allow any alliance player regardless of race to become a “Dark Ranger”.

But since she is by far the character that the most players simp for and regard as “boinkable”, nobody cares that the line is blurred.

Now, if we make Velhari a rare nightelf member of the silver hand, only half dress her, and have her live in Tyr´s hand, then we have an argument for void paladins.

Yeah their draenei with hammers and swords that use dark or purple colors. Lul

Ah. I never interpreted those as ‘void paladins’. Just ‘pretty purple light’ wielding ones.

Draenei use a lot of pink and purple gems. Doesn’t mean void perse.

Some things just are not meant to be, like broccoli covered with dark chocolate.

I would say that´s teh corerect interpretation, because dead or not Maraad would definitely have something unpleasant to say about people calling him a “void paladin”.

However, that also brings us full circle to the “are vindicators paladins or not” topic… I say no, at least not technically, but then we have Maraad in the BC cinematic… Sometimes it’s best just to suspend disbelief, considering that all of this is just fantasy, anyway…

Silvia is a necromancer ranger hybrid with interchangeable alliances.

Silvia is a worgen from the Army of th Black Moon with almost zero lore attached to her and only a handful of quests that she doles out.

She is NOT a dark ranger by any stretch of any imagination.

And The Army of the Black Moon, while not officially aligned with wither faction, was explicitly created to help Tyrande oust the horde from the former Nightelf territories they captured pre-BfA.

many of them, LIKELY including Silvia (lore is currently unclear, but she can now be found in Bel’Ameth), are now the “Sentinels of the New Moon”, a clearly and obviously Kaldorei (and with that by extensiaon Alliance) aligned faction.
