Hello guys, I am new to classic wow. I was checking BiS gear and it seems, that gear from p3 - BWL is much better than from p4 ZG. At least for me, I play a rogue.
Was it implemented as a catch up raid for new players ? Is there any reason to go there every week ?
I am little bit worried, that gap between p3 and p5 release will be half a year or more and raiding BWL from day 1 until release of AQ will be boring.
On the other hand, Zul Gurub looks fantastic. Bosses, graphics, zones.
Theres a reputation tied to it which gives various recipes, which for some classes are bis. Theres also new head/leg enchant which is also bis
Well, if there is one thing Blizzard made fairly well in Vanilla, although involuntarily I believe, is that some pieces from ZG are better than the one you will find in Naxx. Or some have better synergy (spell pen, mp5).
Gear level doens’t matter that much so you will still sometimes need to farm easier raid to get the gear you need.
Trinkets, head/leg enchants, BiS until tbc.
Shoulder enchant bis until saphiron (naxx),
reputation recepies (bis tailoring, alchemy, engeenering, and not so bad mail/plate)
Bis healer neck, bis tanking sword… and so on
)
A few items are really really good. Way better then Bwl loot
Zg was designed as a “catch up” raid…
For People back than who felled behind, Or jsut started… They wanted to give those people to catch up because AQ was next on plate.
This the reason why its A smaller raid, and the gear there is called tier 2.5 not tier 3
Hope this helps.
Tier 2.5 is from AQ not zg. And it’s called 2.5 because it’s not a full 8p set.
Tier 2.5 is AQ tho, not ZG?
BiS melee weapons for hunters I believe too.
Except Thunderfury.
Well, at the time it was very much needed as a salvation for guilds that struggled with BWL, and in particular getting enough people together for BWL.
It was somewhat undercut by the fact that the loot wasn’t all that great, and the content a bit too challenging in comparison to the rewards but still, there you have it. And as many have said, lots of necessary faction stuff there.
Rep reward > crafting recipies
Some gear actually is really good
Unique mount drops (Tiger / Raptor)
Smaller requirement of players so more accessible
Content when all other content might be done (fun)
A really big sword called the Destroyer of Worlds… that alone should be reason enough
Shut up and stop trying to speed up the content
ZG is a catchup raid, yes. And even then, some of the gear/the enchants/rep rewards are very good, and make it worth to run for people with BWL on farm.
Well 6 reasons:
- Bloodvine set: BiS for non mage casters to be hit capped
- Mounts
- Shoulder enchants
- Renataki trinket
- Pair fist weapon transforming into tiger ( forgot the name)
- rep and crafting recipe
Personally I am looking for this more than BWL. Being a kitty druid, there is not much there for me anyways, beside a trinket every single rogue / warrior will have prio for. Plus, the whelp area in BWL with traps is horrible.
Going to farm untilevery warrior in the guild have the spell hit trinket, f the 4t3
Zg better gear
At the very least,ZG enchants and bloodvine gear.
You’ll probably find quite a few really good items in there too
As mentioned before:
- Best in slot head/leg/shoulder enchants for several classes.
- It’s unlikely your whole raid will be fully BiS by the time Zul Gurub arrives, it has several nice mid-point upgrades between Molten Core and Blackwing Lair gear.
- Several nature resistance recipes which will be useful for Anh’Qiraj drop there.
The set is called 1.5 because it’s generally worse than tier 2.
