I’ve been reading this forum for a few days and most of the topics are hate to streamers (mostly Asmongold), I just saw this videos : https://youtu.be/mbZ2oUfayQk
https://youtu.be/fYZN_Spr3Sk
and all this just because they got beta keys…
Guys streamers are good because they keep the game alive and promo it.
Peace & Love we all love the same game.

So true man, there are so many hatethreads about those pals. I personally don’t usually agree with them but overall I think they are a good asset for the game’s future.
people hate them cuz they aint them

Quite a bit are tools, faking their ‘personality’ and riding the waves of outrage.
Not all of them ofcourse, but a lot of them.
edit: as to the beta invites. People are disappointed they didn’t get in while some streamers who not have interest in classic or even play wow any more got in.
I do think the criticism is a bit harsh on that, since there are plenty of non streamers in beta. And hey, not all keys will land with peolpe who know classic or are interested in it anyway.
There’s still time left till release, so people can still get in.

Don’t understand the whole whining about beta keys. In the end of august that won’t matter anyway.

I can’t stand the general streamer crowd who are constantly cry how everything is bad and expensive but at the same time promote their merch, make a living from leaching from the same money base as WoW, cause every $ spend on them could be spend on the game if wow had a decent marketing team.
But I don’t hate them personally, just their role of moral high ground they have to play for a SJW viewer base.

I think that’s some sweeping statement and generalisation to say people hate them.
Some don’t care about streamers and that’s fine, some dislike them and that’s fine too. Some like them and follow them and that’s fine. Some like them and support them, and that is fine too.
I have zero interest myself in watching a stream, I care nothing for their opinions on the game. I don’t find it fun to watch someone else playing. I have nothing against others watching them although I’m disappointed when someone just parrots what they have said.
I don’t have any issue with streamers/content creators etc getting into beta. There are only a very small number of people in the beta, I hope they do a good job testing the heck out of it.

Because people feel like some certain big streamers have too much power, like they can sway public opinion to the way that they feel the game should be like.
Also they see these big (and small) streamers all getting the beta even though they haven’t played WoW in like 5-6 years or in some cases never actually played WoW, so people kind of feel betrayed.
I don’t think really that streamers keep the game alive really, sure they might make a few people start playing the game but the game was alive for a decade before streaming even became popular, but saying that they do help the game and I’d rather have streamers streaming WoW than streaming some other game.
I don’t really have any problems with streamers really since I watch them all the time but even to me it does sometimes feel like they hold too much power and that they can control the community’s thinking.

Yep. It was actually much better when ppl share their own opinion then someone else’s.

Because they want beta but streams got it instead ? i think ? probably yeah.
its not 100% true cause i know people who aren’t streams that got one too.
I personally don’t care, they’re flipping out cause they don’t have one. But the reality is that this beta is probably the shortest beta, it’s going live in like 2 month.

It’s not that simple.
It’s not because of beta keys either.
Some streamers are simply hate machines, asmongold is a raging tool frankly.
Sorry but that’s the way many view him and other streamers.
Streamers aren’t the only ones keeping the game alive…the players playing are too, try not to forget that either.

And yet most of the hate comes from those that despise him how ironic.
I just gave my opinion of the streamer, i’ve seen one of his streams as he was mentioned on this very forum…(I had no prior knowledge of his existence before that) and it was horrific, offensive and frankly something I wouldn’t expect Blizzard to support or endorse.
Sorry that view is my own. I care not for anyone else’s view.

Blizzard doesn’t support him he’s an influencer, he wasn’t invited at last Blizzcon.
And he’s quite a good streamer i know what i’m talking about i’m a 14 month old sub.
raise your standards if you think he’s good.
I’m glad you think he’s a good streamer…but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to think the same way.

I don’t hate them I just don’t watch them (with few exceptions) I don’t see any joy in watching others play.
I don’t hate streamers either, I think they have an inflated ego stoked by sycophants and some of the time, by Blizzard.

I think the issue is that people are mad that they were not given beta keys to classic and the initial keys went to the streamers.
The reason that Blizzard did is this obvious: they wanted to create a buzz and have free advertising for classic. Of course we live in the entitlement age where people feel that they are entitled to something, such as beta keys when it was stated that this initial round went to streamers first.
As for streamers in general, there are some that I like such as Kelani, Taliesan and Evitel, and Bellular, but some are simply streaming or making videos to inflame the player base for views, hits, likes, and subs to make money.
Imagine actually unironically believing that.
