Why so toxic against boosted chars?

Why does it matter to you how others ‘waste’ their time in the game? Are you personally offended by some lvl 58 druid who didn’t want to level another character for the twentieth time and instead purchased a boost instead? How exactly does this affect you?

Well that druid will now never be looking for a group for deadmines or SM or RFK so it takes one potential character out of the pool of possible people to actually do dungeons with thats how it affects me personaly. And do you think that only people who have played a lot of classic are the people who buy the boost? I have seen and talked with a fair few who havent actually really played classic but who have bought the boost they are the once where the boost is clearly aimed at not at mr nolife who have 8 or 9 max leveled chars allready and just want 1 more alt to use for profession cds on.

This is such a terrible argument. By that logic we could say if the boost wasn’t introduced that person might not even have bothered to level up a new char anyway, thus STILL leaving him out of the pool.

It’s an irrelevant argument.

And what proof is there that the person wouldnt want to have a druid?
By your logic now your argument is irrelevant.
And if you read more than that short part you might realise I said way more than that and you are just quote mining here.

Majority of your post is echo chamber spouting, that’s why I quoted what was most relevant.

I wasnt going to buy the deluxe edition. Until I saw how it annoyed some. So I bought one  Havent used the boost yet. Not sure which class to do. Prancing about on mount is fun

I found the animation of the mount goofy at first, it grew on me

Of you go then sweety. Give Activision all your cash. They’ll love you for it, saying "here’s a person who wants to throw money at us, not because they want to play our game, but simply to spite some random, anonymous forum poster

Imagine spending 70 Euros of your own money for the sake of making some random internet poster feel annoyed for around four seconds. You’d be far better off burning 70 Euros in a dustbin and posting it on Youtube. At least you’d get the attention you clearly crave.

I know making up stuff to fit your narrative is a easy way.
The people who are against boosts are also pissed about Blizz not doing anything against the bots.
Is it so hard to understand that we want a game without goldbuying/bots/boosts (all sorts of boosts?)

I don’t understand how you still have the patience to argue on these forums to be honest, For months we have seen the same illogical arguments, moronic claims, dimwitted non-sense given by buffoons who can’t think beyond “I like it so it’s good” and who claim “the boost is okay you have no proof that this is a slippery slope” (of course these guys went silent and were replaced by “Boost + mount are okay you got no proof that this is a slippery slope”).

To put it simply if you’re that angry at players for indulging in a service Blizzard offers then your anger is misplaced completely.

The people buying the boosts aren’t the problem it’s the company for releasing the boost in the first place.

No hate should be given to fellow players for any reason least of which whether or not they boosted.

You missed the part where I took up proffession alts that some people will use the boost for, wich actually would just make the druid not being boosted and not existing a purley postive thing for me who have mining seeing as druids have a advantage over everyone els when it comes to getting nodes.

It’s not a single player game. How other people play the game has quite an impact on others.
I can camp low level players for days, do you think it doesn’t matter to these players how i waste my time?

Just because someone already leveled up one char does not mean this person deserves to create max level chars from now on?
Why would this person even need another max level char if he already leveld up 20 chars??

The way boosties offend me is that they support Activisions chashgrab strategies and ingame p2w shop. They vote with their wallet: Hi i bought Boost/Deluxe editon, pls Blizzard put more stuff into the shop that i can buy in the future! Don’t worry about making good games, make a bad one and offer to skip it for money!

Why not both? It goes hand in hand - dumb players support bad behavior of the company → company creates more ways that dumb players can support…

They can spit on my char. I don’t care. I just /laugh at them for being a no lifer. I think many would try to level a char, but they have families and kids and can’t powerlevel a char from 0-60 in a month (or 2 weeks pre-patch with the exp-change). Many didn’t play Classic (like me), cause I wasn’t interested in it.

But I want to try TBC. The problem is that without a boost, I have to start from 0. And I’m studying at the university + working 3 times a week. So I don’t have the time to be 60 before launch.

But I guess the members of the no life club don’t take irl commitments into consideration. Because many of them (not all) are probably not working. They play WoW 10 hours every day. And when they don’t, they spend their time on the forum crying about the game.

I try not to. Arguing with people who ‘know they are right’ is a waste of time and energy. Nothing you say or do, no amount of logic, facts, evidence, or first-hand-experience will convince them otherwise - in fact it will have the reverse affect, simply causing them to further entrench themselves into their own delusions.

But sometimes it’s just impossible to bite your own tongue and not respond, when people keep on posting the same tired, lazy, repetitive, rote-learned tropes again, and again, and again, and again without making any attempt to engage their higher brain functions. The frustration of it sometimes causes me to retort - even though I know it’s utterly futile.

I am a proud spitter.

Perfectly well put. I’m amazed the OP doesn’t understand this, or other retail andies for that matter.
Retail and Classic, their communities, core values and design philosphies are the exact opposites. Seeing a paid, boosted char in Classic is like a spit in the face when the whole purpose of the game, it’s identity, the original ‘‘classic’’ experience, the way game was designed and meant to be played. It’s why classic was so good and retail is absolutely trash, it’s the mentality of people who now support boosts and similar services.

If you wasnt intressted in it you wasnt and I can understand that, but thats mean you have any right to be at a higher level than 1 to start of with.

Then take it slow and steady no one forces you to try to be one of the first people on the server that reach 70.

I dont play even close to that but im guessing you would put me into that club seeing as I think the boost was a horrible idea that shouldnt have been implemented at all.

You mean logic, facts and evidence such as this?

That is some straight up nonsense.

‘Why would this person even need another max level char if he already leveld up 20 chars??’ You don’t necessarily need 20 characters to have gone through the leveling process many times, especially if you’re playing since the beginning. I get that some people like leveling the old way but you need to wake up and realize that what you wish for is simply not going to happen.

You really should think about how things work from a business standpoint.

Why rely only on the old, small playerbase when you can lure in many more with features like boosting to 58? You’re all hurdur when in reality all that happens is even more players play, support and upkeep the game you like, adding months if not years to it’s lifespan. If you think that’s a bad thing and would rather play with a small select fanatic fanbase on a half dead server to get the ‘real classic experience’, that’s your problem. No sane company would even consider not adding features that not only generate revenue but many new players aswell.
