Why TBC Should Not be Added

This is coming from someone has played in TBC and did Raids, PVP and Achievements there.

TBC was a great expansion but it was still an expansion. Expansions cause all content before them to become obsolete in this case all of Azeroth.

Everyone will be on Outland and with this current market I expect people to clear most raids in week 2 with epic flying mounts.

What TBC has that I do not want:

  • Daily Quests: This is where the grind we have in Retail started. It looked nice at start but became a part of the game you had to do every day. And yes you had to do it otherwise you were behind on something.
  • Flying: I am someone who has 500 mounts on 1 character in Retail and I can say that once flying is implemented the world will shrink it will remove world PVP and dodging enemies.
  • Achievements: Achievement were added in the last patch of TBC just before WoTLK and it was great at first but became a pain eventually.
  • Sanctuary Cities: Places where you can’t do PVP on PVP servers is just wrong. Why leave Shattrath where you can queue for BG’s do banking or portal to somewhere.
  • Heroic Dungeons: Why have 2 difficulties for the same dungeon and why get limited to new dungeons only added in TBC.
  • Class Balancing: Blizzard has tried to balance all classes since launch and in Retail they still aren’t balanced. Leave classes as they are

TBC has some great features that can be added to Classic as Classic + without effecting the game, all of them can be a patch:

  • Add Karazhan for 20 man.
  • Add ZA for 40 man.
  • Add Sunwell for 40 man.
  • Add zones in Azeroth Eversong Woods, Ghostlands, Isle of Quel’Danas,
    • Other Azeroth zones can be added as well
  • Jewelcrafting can be added in a way to add more variety

My main quote here is why try to create something that eventually failed rather than trying to something that might work.

Don’t play it then?

Stay on your Classic server.

Do you even play Classic? As you are posting on your retail character.
Whats the point on having 3 WoW games running.

dude classic is trash compared to tbc

It’s easier to keep track of replies without swapping back and forth between characters.

And the point is to make money and add value to the subscription. It’s also what they’re doing. They aren’t even considering erasing Classic and upgrading to TBC.

Considering the vast number of private servers offering multiple versions of warcraft i think the ‘why have 3’ arguement is slightly flawed.

That said,

  • Daily Quests: This is where the grind we have in Retail started. It looked nice at start but became a part of the game you had to do every day. And yes you had to do it otherwise you were behind on something.
*you know this exists in classic, it just doesnt have a blue ! to hint at it

  • Flying: I am someone who has 500 mounts on 1 character in Retail and I can say that once flying is implemented the world will shrink it will remove world PVP and dodging enemies.
*nice collection! i have argued this point to death - flying will NOT destroy wpvp - look up other threads on it, wpvp will still exist in all its glory

  • Achievements: Achievement were added in the last patch of TBC just before WoTLK and it was great at first but became a pain eventually.
*meh, not fussed either on these, a limited amount of them is good, too many is bad

  • Sanctuary Cities: Places where you can’t do PVP on PVP servers is just wrong. Why leave Shattrath where you can queue for BG’s do banking or portal to somewhere.
*even in war there are rules, deal with it

  • Heroic Dungeons: Why have 2 difficulties for the same dungeon and why get limited to new dungeons only added in TBC.
*maybe players need more content to keep interest

  • Class Balancing: Blizzard has tried to balance all classes since launch and in Retail they still aren’t balanced. Leave classes as they are
*nope just nope, in classic you play either a warrior, mage or priest (dwarf priest)

TBC will be popular, but if it isnt for you then just carry on with classic which will also be popular - choice is good, just wait for classic wrath!

False, I have played TBC back in 2007-08 and never did a single daily. At least until Quel’Danas, all they offered were gold (which was still inferior to other forms of farming) and rep for cosmetics-related factions. Even in Quel’Danas, the gold farmed was still worse than what you could earn if you knew which mats to farm for the AH, and Shattered Sun Offensive only offered items which, by 2.4, were vastly outclassed.

Yeah, there definitely won’t be any world pvp in Hellfire Peninsula or Nagrand. Sure thing.

If they do TBC it’ll be almost surely based on the last 2.something patch, i.e. 2.4.3, and not 3.0. Just like Classic was made from 1.12 and not 2.0. There were no achievements in 2.4.3

If all you do in your life is queueing BGs and Arenas then yes, you don’t need to leave Shattrath. Then again, that is PvP. On the other hand, if you need any form of mats for PvE (including gold), you gotta fight for it in the outer world.

I would be more worried about the faction balancing than sanctuary cities.

Yeah, why get limited to Hellfire Ramparts, Blood Furnace, Shattered Halls, Underbog, Slave Pens, Steam Vaults, Mana Tombs, Auchenai Crypts, Sethekk Halls, Shadow Labyrinth, Mechanar, Botanica, Arcatraz, Old Hillsbrad, Black Morass and (eventually) Magister’s Terrace…

… when you can do BRD, Scholo, Strat, LBRS and UBRS?

The former definitely sounds more limiting, yeah :joy:

Oh yeah, Classic is so damn more balanced than TBC.

My main quote here is that you sound like someone who never played TBC and only experienced stuff like dailies, different difficulties or class balancing on BFA.

Or perhaps, a whiny little kid that can’t accept Classic+ is not happening.

I can’t wait for when I’ll be able to tell people like you "Classic Vanilla is that way -----> "

Tbc failed lmao.

It should be added for the people that want to play it. If you don’t you dont have to. Is this rly so hard to understand.

after vanilla comes tbc

or should i say

#justsomechanges

?

Eventually failed exactly how? WoW has been biggest mmorpg in last decade despite it losing subs during worst times… so exactly how it failed and what it has to do with tbc? Wotlk had way bigger player count than your precious vanilla anyhow. Don’t want it? Don’t play it then.

I wanna try an old school WoW but in my favourite class and favourite role. So I am looking forward to it.

But only if SL will be a total garbage ( meaning like Classic class balance / PvP vs prems / server failure type of bad )

Don’t play it, stay forever in those dead Vanilla servers.

Let us the huge majority of players experience and play TBC, the much better and polished version of Classic WoW.

And classic is not grindy? - I have no reason to log onto classic aside from raids currently.
If I want to keep up with classic, I have to grind gold in order to get consumables for raids.(I’m a healer, so I don’t need to farm much gold )

This argument every time “World PvP” - World PvP is dead once BGs came out.
Simple as that… throw in the faction balance is completely screwed.

Who cares exactly?

You can’t attack the enemy faction in their home cities without them having PvP enabled, who cares?

So we have reasons to actually do dungeons? - I don’t do any dungeons at all anymore, since it’s pointless.

Yeah, at least some specs are actually playable in BC.
And you can actually gear them instead of just ignoring them the whole time.

I’m not interested in what you have to say, TBC was the best of this game in my opinion. Bring it on!

Why create something that might work, but will much more likely fail; when they can create something that worked in the past and will work now?

TBC was great.

TBC will be ultra mega trash. People will have epic flying instantly on day of release

What failed? Tbc was the highest subscription jump in entire wow history. Or close 2nd.

That’s a weird comment. Because it’s fun and they share subscription?

People usually choose one character to post on to build/keep forum rank.

I mean. I VERY HIGHLY doubt that Classic Vanilla is going anywhere, even with Classic TBC.
Yes the majority of the pop will go to TBC, but vanilla will retain a healthy population for years to come still.

Why do you want me to not have my experience? its legit the same bfa players said why we shouldent have vanilla
