No of course. There are other reasons too!
questie and codex shows u the quests in the world that are available for you.
There are quests that lead you to thrall, there are quests that lead you to the qeust giver of every chain. You seem to be unlucky not getting them.
Ah Raeneās Cleansing.
That one is absolutely notorious for getting people lost.
Thereās a particular shrine you need to find in order to cleanse the reclaimed staff, itās up a tiny, difficult-to-find, unmarked mountain path in an out-of-the-way area most people never visit, and the quest description is vague in the extreme.
Addons like Questie, which is based on the old Questhelper code notoriously get the coordinates wrong, so people who rely on it always go off in the wrong direction and become confused.
Used to make me laugh reading all the comments from people in General Chat, stuck and unable to find the place, because they were just following markers on a map, rather than using their own eyes and navigational abilities.
Nope the quest is exact. It tells you the shrine is east of iris lake. It says to go east along the road and look for a seating area on your left. There a seat with a book on it and to turn North there. Itās one of the most specific directions in the game lol.
Nah, Iām talking about the shrine you have to find later in the chain, not the Dryad NPC.
Here is the completed rod, <name>. Reconstructing it was simple⦠itās finding the shrine that has the power to recharge it that will be the hard part.
With some focus and effort it shouldnāt be too hard for someone like you, whoās already accomplished so much.
Head southeast of hereāthere are very few paths, so be carefulāand keep your eyes to the north. The shrine is hidden within the mountains that surround this glade.
Once there, place the rod within the shrine⦠the rest is magic. Hehe.
It was the original npc he couldnāt find. He was south east, near the barrens, told me he was in the right place and that it was south east, not north east like the quest said and the quest was cā¦
Heād already tried going north east, but couldnāt get past the (neutral) dragon, so it couldnāt be right as itās a high level area.
I know about the hidden path, Iāve done the quest for dartolās rod of transformation on every alliance char Iāve ever made. . He hasnāt got that far, he might as well give up now.
I told hubbie to wait until his res sickness wore off and to leave the dragon alone when he went back up to where the quest said it was, because thatās where she is. Heās not going to find her near the barrens.
I wasnt sure if i wanted to post this, but i thought ahhā¦what the hell lol.
WoW Classic is not designed to hand hold your gaming experience. It is designed for the grind, to explore and fail, but ultimately, when you finish what you are doing you feel relief, euphoria and satisfaction, whether that being hitting lvl 20 for cat form, lvl 30 for whilwind, 40 for your mount, and finally hitting 60. Its for that big sense of achievement.
When I originally played, I didnt have access to wowhead untill a little later and there was a lot of trial and error, lots of fails and lots of repetition. Dead Mines for example has 5 quests to it. I ran that 5 times to do all the quests again, but each time it got quicker and i got some nice loot from it.
You should fully expect that youāre going to run a dungeon several times, either doing your own quest, helping someone else or just for general loot. You might not know the dungeon the first time round, but by the 3rd time you should get a good feel for it and become a pro and clear it pretty fast.
Over time you will discover which dungeon you like and which you dont. Lots of people hate Gnomeregon, I personally dont mind it, but i really dont like Wailing caverns.
Dont be disheartend, What you are experiencing IS the authentic experience. Use the resources you have available to you. Visit wowhead, ask players, plan ahead, add a levelling guide addon if it helps.
We all did back in the day,
Itās exactly as it seems: youāre not supposed to know.
This might seem counter-intuitive in an age where games are designed to be as accessible and fully completeable from the get-go as possible, but youāve already seen how this design makes sense, havenāt you? You joined a group and were informed of the other quests by your party members.
I reckon the original designers were thinking along these lines: Tauren will accept the quests in TB and then move on towards Orgrimmar to quest in the barrens and in order to find a group for the dungeon. Once they find a group, they will be able to share their quests with the group. Same thing goes for the Undead, at least in regards to the dungeon. An Orc who will never know about the Undercity and TB quests will potentially party with Tauren and Undead and thus find out about those quests. The Tauren and Undead who party with this Orc will find out that some quest lead the Orc to Thrall where he got yet another dungeon quest.
Thatās quite the clever design, donāt you think? It has the potential for you to miss out on stuff anyway, but such is life. There is plenty of content to get you through the day even when you miss some stuff here and there. However, when you miss stuff like this it preserves some of the worldās mystery for whenever you play a new character. Itās always nice to discover new things.
I agree with all these, but the problem is that most times I party with players that have add-ons or are experienced retail players and know everything, and expect from me the same⦠But I also found some good guys that even rerun dungeon to help me complete the missing quests. Just wow.
