You can buy it once but it is indeed bought. They’ve said pricing TBA
And this a big wall of “I’m just making emotional arguments with no points of substance, the boost is good in my anecdotal example so it is good for the game overall”.
Nothing screams selfish or “me me me” more than some1 who says that the boost should be in tbc because it benefits ur life style.
Emotional? How am I emotional? Just for stating facts? I’m sorry I hit a soft spot here.
Classic players like to delude themselves into thinking that they play in this amazing RP game where people enjoy running around in the world, discovering caves and hugging trees.
Sadly, this could not be further from truth. Classic players, just like retailers, buy boosts, gold and cut corners wherever they can. It’s a fact, regardless of you accepting it or not.
Buying boosts and gold is a fact. Look at your trade chat. Look at the empty world where barely any are leveling the normal way anymore because dungeon boosting is a thing now.
You missed the word “many”. I won’t say most, but clearly there is a huge demand for boosts.
Nothing subjective about it. I see it everyday on the forums.
A fact in what way though? Yeah they exist, but I’ve never denied such but your original point was just an emotionally charged and subjective statement.
Have u considered that most have just already capped? Also, just because some people boost from other players doesn’t mean that blizzard should just sell their own form otherwise u can apply this logic to gold as well and boom, we have wow token.
This is all conjecture. No actual evidence either way so that isn’t enough to actually defend the boost. There is A demand but most people want it? I’d say the topic so far has been pretty torn.
The lvl 58 boost is a step in the wrong direction to be sure but what’s even worse is that it’s selling a fake product. The real advantage of established players is not their level but their huge war chest. I can almost guarantee that we will see people on epic flying mounts within 24 hours of launch, and even that gold sink will be a drop in the ocean.
Newly arrived players will have near 0 chance to compete for resources on the auction house. Given how small outland is compared to Azeroth, they will also have very large competition when farming their resources.
Just think what the price of motes of air will be, when every warrior wants their Stormherald but there’s only like 30 air elementals in all of Outland. And god help you if you are on a PVP server. The equivalent of the Black Lotus Mafia will shut down all of Nagrand to control Primal supply.
THIS. This is exactly why the boost is useless. New and returning players already have no chance even with a boost of catching up. So why taint the current servers with the boost when they could just make new servers with no transfers to them from existing servers that have the boost and thus are perfect for new and returning players.
In order for the boost to actually do what it is meant to, blizzard would also have to sell wow tokens and give much more for free when you boost a toon thus the slippery slope begins.
I made it to around lvl 30 in Classic. I’ve seen more boosting than I can count and that was only 2 months after release.
People like it easy. If they can have it easy, they ill. Leveling is boring, most people will get a boost if they have the means for i.
I never advertised for pay to win. A lvl 58 can be considered pay to win in Classic but not in TBC where a lvl 58 with no gear or gold it means absolutely nothing but a few weeks of mindless questing.
Considering that Classic players have been given the freedom to go with all their progression and gold into TBC, that they will have total control over the economy, world PvP and raid progression, I’d say the boost is really no pay to win feature.
Especially considering that it will take fresh players a lot longer to level in rough conditions and they would have to farm gold to even afford an epic mount.
Most people will take the path of least resistance but it doesn’t mean people will like it or it will make the game more popular long term. If they added LFD, most people would use that too but it doesn’t mean people want it in the game.
it’s pay 2 convenience which is just as wrong.
I love it when you add in adjectives to make your subjective view seem factual
Yeah, I’d say it’s now a completely useless feature with no + sides, only down sides.
You’re comparing apples to oranges. LFD is not even an expansion feature. We are talking TBC and that doesn’t have LFD.
Most of us want TBC to play TBC, that’s all. When we have Wotlk going then LFD is going to be a thing regardless.
The minority that is asking for other expansion features is very very small and in no way represents the massive influx of players that want the pure TBC experience.
So you prefer to lose a great amount of people that will join your raids, your pvp events and make the game popular, than accept this small compromise?
Blizzard seems to think you’re wrong on this one and they’re the one making the rules.
It’s useless for you, a lot of people are excited about it.
Again, clear example of people supporting illegitimate and shady communities that would use your gold for RMT instead of the company that provides the service for you.
Not too surprising that a community that has embraced gbid/gdkp would be fine with a paid level boost in the game. People nowadays just want things as easy as possible, sad as it may be.
The lack of comprehension you have of why retail turned into garbage is largely part due to changes such as this. The “lack of logic” is on YOUR end how you cannot see how a RPG RPG provides a option TO PAY FOR PROGRESSION is bad and a wholly bad view and mindset is BAD, esspecially as all the people who legitimately would use this boost are people who RUINED retail with the lack of attention and wanting instant rewards.
Get over it. Go play the game. Play with your guild. Pick a character and play it. Just enjoy your little bubble slice of TBC.
The fact you are prepared to create multiple accounts for the single purpose of selling transmute cooldowns says all I need to know about you and your intentions. You will happily skew the playing field for your gain but heaven forbid the uni folks who now have families and cant play 24/7 farming herbs get a 1 time helping hand, OMG, game over.
Seriously, you all need to have your alts taken away. From now on you get 1 character to play with. 1 account and 1 character. Now go level it up in empty westfall.
FML the attitudes here are reason enough to not play, I’m ok playing along side a boosted character, for all I know it could be the best dam tank on the server, better than playing alongside your economy manipulating BS.
they can play, they just have to play for slightly longer. Having to do 1-58 has got nothing to do with whether they can play or not, it’s whether they can be bothered to do it.
random tangent that doesn’t counter my point in any way?
what a fascist mindset
quality rebuttal
level boosts are not an expansion feature of TBC. In fact, they were first listed as an expansion feature in Warlords of Draenor (go watch the features trailer). They were first implemented into the game in late MoP but first listed as an expansion feature in WoD.
1-58 is part of TBC. The WHOLE GAME is TBC. What you have latched onto is an idea of TBC.
