Well, we kinda donât know that, and we never likely will, because weâre never going to get a solid set of poll data on that. What I will say, is that some people deliberately played up to that idea (People playing Vulpera) and started coming out with the âuwuâ whatever the hell that actually means, and âyiffingâ comments (I -do- know what that means, much to my displeasure) specifically -to- annoy people who were annoyed by Vulpera. Childish? Yes. Has it died down? Thankfully on RP servers certainly yes. All you have left is pretty much people wanting to play a tough, resilient and cunning desert survivalist race. Thank goodness.
I think weâre going to have to disagree on that one. I donât see anything sexy about them, but then, Iâm not a furry.
Yeah, they did have a really weird phase when they did that, and I think it was around the time when they did a -lot- of weird stuff, like having our characters going around picking up poo, making an Orc having a dump a focal point of a Hillsbrad quest, obsessive self-referential stuff like throwing in store mounts in game (also Hillsbrad), some jokes about STDâs and rubbish âDownfallâ memes (The Downfall meme itself is funny, having a whole area dedicated to it in Uldum was just childish) .
Sometimes they do adult themes and horror really well, sometimes they just goof off.
Know one of the most horrible zones in SL? and I bet few people think about it, but eh, Roleplayer, so i look into these things.
Ardenweald.
No, seriously man, check this out, right.
Youâve basically got a âbenevolentâ Queen who supposedly loves all her âchildrenâ but food is running out. She loves all of her children, but can only feed three quarters of them. Does she do it herself? No. She makes her children choose who amongst them lives or dies and in some cases the ones chosen to die are sleeping. Itâs like âThe Hunger Gamesâ meets âBattle Royaleâ where half the participants are asleep, and she encourages her children to just stick a pillow over the sleeping oneâs faces and hold it there until they stop breathing. Youâre damn right everyone sounds happy there, because they sure are, theyâre happy that it isnât -them- having the pillow held over their mouth and nose this timeâŠThis timeâŠ
See thatâs horror. When they throw jokey stuff in, it looks lame, but they -can- do serious.
Well, weâve got no stats on that, have we? And lets be fair here, you were the one who generalised and ascribed certain choices to people and brought lesbians into it for some reason? I mean you literally were the person who labelled people who played Vulpera as having a certain âproclivityâ shall we say.
Ease of categorisation. I am by no means an MMA fighter, though would say I am an excellent melee combatant having done so for 30 years now (Everyone thinks I went to a posh school because we got the option to take Fencing aged 16âŠit really was not a posh school )
My little brother however did do MMA for about 5 years before an accident knackered him.
It is purely to keep it in certain guidelines, in terms of how they match opponents, so basically I guess you could say it is bureaucracy rather than combatant ability, which makes sense, it is largely the same reason some of the classes were invented for boxing as well.
well, no, you saying a thing is so, does not make it âfactâ, it is just your opinion.
Which is âŠfine? I mean I find women attractive, it doesnât mean I want to be a woman.
Nor am i currently wearing a short cloak associated with the clergy. People misuse the word âcopeâ these days, is what I was saying. Donât even get me started on people misusing the words âEdgyâ or âLiterallyâ
But a true one. Who -does- care what Streamers do? The easily impressed, swayed or fans of theirs. That isnât a generalisation, that specifically is their target demographic.
They look more feral and scratty to me, to be honest.
âOneâ reference, you picked one reference after I told you of various cultures where Fox-people feature. I actually looked it up, there are even -more- cultural references than that. Approximately about sixteen times more than there are references to the Minotaur, yet youâre cool with those.
WellâŠyeah? I mean that -is- what they are. For a while they were called Panda Bears before we realised scientifically they were not actually -bears- but just looked like bears.
because the mistaken belief that âElves are cuteâ was trotted out again. Theyâre not. Theyâre not even cute now that they have re-ignited the Sunwell, but are cynical pragmatists.
Sure, they are, but they are also another Tauren variant, whereas Ogres are -also- part of the Horde, and not currently playable. Now I donât like 'em personally, but they could be easily implemented by scaling up slightly the KulâTiran model⊠but then a lot of costuming options I guessâŠ
Bro when even Blizzard hinted towards furries with that /lick thing in that quest text lmao. Stop trying to reach out on something else my man.
You need to get some new glasses Iâm afraid. You donât need to be a furry to see that stuff.
Yeah they just made Vulpera.
Ah I see thereâs some deep stuff behind the whole fairies being quirky kind of stuff. Sadly that ruins it for me.
Even Disney with the 7 dwarves did a more grim depiction even though itâs well⊠a Disney film.
People who play Vulpera are furries, yes.
But you donât see the point, and you act rather, well dumb about it. Twisting around the pot. My response was to men playing jacked up types that itâs a male fantasy to be jacked up. Lots and lots of movies picked up on this. Conan, Commando, Rambo, etc.
Yet you call those men âhomoeroticâ.
So if women like to play a barbie doll or a pretty elf, theyâre, well, Lesbians according to you?
I donât see why you felt the need to share this information.
They do that because a 2 meter tall opponent with a bigger physique would always win from a smaller opponent if they both have the same set of combat skills.
Itâs quite simple really.
Again, youâre reaching for things that just make it more complicated. Thereâs no need for that.
An opinion shared by a majority of people
Ah no, you see, you made the projection about me playing Orcs for the same reason here silly. Try to keep up here.
No thatâs a generalisation.
Furbolgs are a perfect example of a âfurryâ race that doesnât cater towards furries. Vulpera are specifically designed to cater towards furries.
Disney.
So not really a werebear.
A werebear would look more like the mage tower artifact challenge of Guardian Druid.
Theyâre literally red humans dude. They lost their edgy phase in the expansion they were introduced. A shame because I really enjoyed Blood Knight lore.
You canât just like Vulpera because I donât know⊠They look cool? xD They arenât any extremes. If everyone are what they play then stricktly speaking everyone who doesnât play a Human are freaks then.
Wanting ogres is one thing. No issue there, But acting like a jealous child over it is just unlikely going to ever give you ogres.
Vulpera fit perfectly into the Horde in terms of way of living, philosophy and struggles. Also I love that we have Voldun representation, thatâs pretty sick
I have rolled a Vulpera Shaman because I love the way the ears flop around when they move. Also the totems look extremely adorable, and they do a cute little somersault when they jump.
I also have a Worgen Warrior, because Worgen have this towering presence in plate, especially when you pop Avatar. I also have a Gnome Hunter because Gnomes are hilarious and I thought the concept of an Engineer keeping mechanicals as pets is neat.
There really isnât much more to it. I donât want to be a Wolf or Fox or zombie. There is no sexual connection either. I just think they look cool. As someone else has put it in this thread, maybe the issue is not with Vulpera players but rather the people making the accusations?
People think Iâm a furry because of my name despite this character being an Undead way back in TBC when it was madeâŠ
Iâve been using this Alias since the early 90s God damn it! I just happen to like beer and think wolves are awesome, and by extension it remotely sounds like âwerewolfâ from the classic horror monsters of filmsâŠ
