Hello, why is the only PvE server locked? I’m trying to start a character with a friend that wanted to try SoD.

But there is only one PvE server, so it is locked to people can transfer their characters from Wild Growth to Wild Growth? I don’t understand why the only PvE server for EU SoD is locked.
Hello? On what server should my friend create a character so he can play with me on Wild Growth when the FCMs open?
For the EU region, all PvE realms will have FCMs open to Wild Growth
Your friend can make a character on Friday if they can wait, if not seems any pve realm will do, if new characters haven’t been disabled there too.
… what other PvE realms? It seems that WG is the only one for SoD, so no PVE => PVE migrations can happen, therefore locking char creation seems completely pointless to me unless I’m missing something

please tell me what other pve realm we could play on now that is not wild growth.
my friend didn’t resub to play on Friday, he resubbed to play this weekend, but he cant because some uknown unexplained reason the ONLY PvE server on SoD EU is LOCKED for new character creation.
I want to know the reasoning behind locking the SINGLE available PvE server.
I wish blizzard had one competent employee but they seem to have all left leaving only headless chickens in charge.

The reason was in the info people listed for you too read
“Disabling character creation on the destination realms temporarily is to prevent a land grab of names by people intentionally trying to claim names otherwise available to incoming transfers.”
If your friends unhappy with their purchase and can’t actually play the game they have paid for I suggest get a refund easy if paid through paypal and look for something else more worth while rather than wow.

from what servers are people transfering from to wild growth?
you are willingly ignoring my main question and point. As far as I know there are NO FCMs to wild growth so LOCKING it is completly pointless
So I am asking why WG is locked to allow transfers from PvE > PvE server when WG is the only PvE server.

Yea but…
- Migrations are only allowed within the same realm types (PVE => PVE or PVP => PVP)
- Wild Growth is the only PvE realm
THEREFORE Wild Growth is not a valid migration target from any realm, so it’s really confusing why character creations have been disabled there.

Wild Growth - Normal (to me as a WG player it’s Medium)
Crusader Strike - RPPvP
Living Flame - PvP
Lone Wolf - PvP
Chaos Bolt - PvP (Locked)
Lava Lash - RP (the only other server without PvP attached is locked)

If there’s no transfers to the only PVE server then regardless of anything its locked until Friday? I think it was
yes blizz makes many many mistakes, welcome to wow.
Your choice is now pay and wait to play or cancel your sub it seems.
I suggest only using paypal for Blizzard purchases in case things like this happen its easy to get a refund.
Some have described SOD as a half “buttoxed” cash grab but damn you didnt even get to play yet and they took your cash

That should tell people what sort of company blizz is like.
Mess with them once and they will take your your account from you, so shut up and put up.
Good bully/strongman tactic seen it work and put people of rather than stand their ground and make blizz pay.
In this case the person hasn’t got to play yet and can’t for about 5 days I think?
They could just make a new account if they decide Blizz/wow is worth trying again.
I did it years ago when I stopped altogether I got a boost/and 6months refunded think it was I paid for, I was very happy to say the least. My account got banned though needless to say
Paypal had no issue refunding me all my money, I just listed several in game things that are broken / blizz can’t control /ignores etc
They can play retail and thats what they are buying, SoD is just a bonus
Yes, but like Killcream rightly mentions they can try out retail. So they wont be trying to refund the subscription.
What I’m trying to bring attention to is that locking character creation without an option to do so somewhere else is a dumb choice by Blizzard.
I have now learned that there is one other pve realm, that was closed 5 months ago. FCMs were offered back then, no mentions that it stopped offering FCMs and opening it back up on wednesday.
I might not get a response from Blizzard but hopefully the rants from the 3-4 people here on the forums will help them make better choices in the future.

Indeed, isn’t the first, wont be the last. It has to have cost them some players wanting to try out sod,.
The topics people could write about “dumb choice” by blizzard could melt the internet.

I agree its stupid, i dont understand why name reservations is such a big deal at all
You can reset names of chars that already exist on wild growth. Every char that has not been logged in since the start of p4.
So the new char creation lock is somehow a “last chance” for players to log in their chars to keep their names.
I don’t really understand why it is not allowed to just create new chars without allowing to reset other (ex)players names, i would see no problem with new char with a not used name.

Ah! Makes more sense now, they are betting on more people resubbing that quit in phase 1-3 to keep their names than people unsubbing now that are not able to start new characters.
And keeping silent because they know this is scummy AF
I’ll stop complaining here on the forums for now and leaving with even lower respect for Blizzard.
