Will Dishonorable Kills Be Added?

I totally agree with this post, I think world scale pvp should be accessible to all players, in all zones, at all levels, and should not be constricted into certain zones. I agree it’s a pretty terrible system in some ways, but also a very good system in some ways.

It’s a good system other then the “guilty by association” aspect, which is absolutely a joke, why should other players be punished for their entire life, and SEVERELY punished at that, if a mage kills a bread vendor with blizzard, by accident?

I think that when it comes in some people won’t give a damn about it, they will just carry on ganking lowbies and I for one applaud them. Levelling should be dangerous.

I’d troll city raids by quickly relogging on a bank alt, turning on the PvP flag and purposely walking into the attackers’ Blizzards, Multishots and Whirlwinds. Rofl.

Jokes aside, I feel that this DHK system should only apply to players (imo best to just remove it completely). I seriously doubt there’s gonna be many dudes camping some NPCs for hours just to ruin someone’s day, it would be kinda difficult as lowbies would just hire a level 60 hitman to get rid of the griefer. DHK system achieves pretty much nothing apart from killing the world PvP.

You lose 100 RP for one dishonorable kill, unless you’re at a VERY high rank, that’s not a lot.

Not how dishonorable kills work.

DHK’s have NOTHING to do with killing players, this post is reffering to killing “Villager” npc’s, “Villager Npcs” could be any npc which is a quest giver or a vendor, and the problem is, most players would be too scared to team up with randoms and raid a random town in open world, pvp, because of the fear that if one of those NPC’s get killed, it could impact your chances of ever gaining max pvp honor rank, for their entire characters lifetime.

Ah you right, googled it quickly to confirm. Excuse my ignorance.

So this whole system is even more pointless then…

The system IS pointless, which is why I ranted so much, I played back in vanilla, before DHK’s were implemented, and the game was 100x more fun, with 10000x more open world pvp going on, and very rarely did players sit there spawn camping npc’s over & over again, especially at lower level zones, usually they would focus on actually PvPing and fighting other players…

The main issue for me is not the DHK system in itself, but the fact that all players are punished (an entire raid group will be punished, for one idiot who kills one of the villager npc’s)

NOT ONLY that, but the fact that the system does NOTHING, to stop GRIEFERS, which is the ONLY reason blizzard implemented this system in the first place, the problem is as I have mentioned about 3 times already now, the kind of players who are going to be deliberately hunting down quest giver npc’s and vendor npc’s JUST to annoy other players are the kind of people who just do not care about losing honor on their characters, even if it is a permanent, punishment for that character, these are the type of players who would create a character, level it up and literally only use it to annoy people -_-

Just cause the system WAS in vanilla, it was also NOT in Vanilla at one point, and vanilla was BETTER without it, why add something to the game, that’s only gonna make a few % of player base probably quit, and ruin something as amazing as insane open world pvp, which I can say for a fact, was extremely common place before DHK’s were implemented, there would ALWAYS always ALWAYYYYS be sooooo many raids on cities, with random players trying to form groups in general chats in all different zones, to go attack random cities, just for fun, at ALL levels… It was such a fun thing to do, and if DHK’s are implemented, you CANNOT expect ALL of the playerbase to have 40+ friends to go do an insane open world pvp battle with, it’s just unrealistic…

Huge open world pvp battles are amazing, and one of the biggest highlighted experiences for me in WoW, I kind of looked forward to coming back and doing that (even with randoms) meeting new people is part of the fun to me, I don’t want to play with the same people over & over again, just so I don’t have to worry about a DHK being added to my character & I don’t want to hear from players oh… well you could go get max rank first then go do open world pvp, cause…
1.) that takes ages to grind, I want to jump straight into the action.
2.) I should not be punished for someone else killing the npc, only the player who lands a killing blow on the villager should be punished.
3.) the system didn’t work anyway, griefers, are griefers, if u think an honor reduction / punishment is gonna stop a griefer, I’m sorry blizz is not being very smart.

Why not just make the npc’s insta respawn or untargetable, as MANY players have suggested ever since the release of the DHK system?

There’s literally nothing good about the system in the first place :P, if anything add a punishment, to the player who lands a killing blow, and also add insta respawn to the npc’s that way it’s not bothering anyone, griefing impossible, and griefers who still sit there killing npc’s do not gain the satisfaction of annoying ANYONE, other then THEMSELVES, that way the system actually does as INTENDED, rather then being absolutely USELESS, and ADDING to the GRIEFING, as having a - honor notification pop up for these kind of griefing players gives them NOTHING but an insane EGO BOOST

Caps intended, when necessary ^^
But no I’m not mad at all, just trying to prove my point, and enjoying the 50:50 split in opinions actually i’d say most players disagree with the DHK’s, open world pvp should not be restricted ;c

Bad time to be a mage…

Wanna raid stormwind? Cool but no aoe spells!

World of magecraft finally ends.

I honestly don’t get what the big deal is, if you’re currently ranking, you’re not participating in city/town raids anyway because it’s bad honor, so it doesn’t affect you.

If you’re not currently ranking, the RP loss doesn’t affect you.

Does rank reset every week or something?

DH kills is good, i hate titles.

The way it works is that you need the same amount of RP (rank points) for every rank past rank 3, so going from rank 3 to rank 4 requires the exact same amount of RP as rank 13 to 14 does, the thing that makes the honor system so grindy however, is that you decay 20% of your total RP every week, meaning that someone at rank 4 (which is 10000-14999 RP) would decay for 2000-3000 RP at the end of the week, while someone at rank 12 (which is 50000-54999 RP) would decay for 10000-11000 RP at the end of the week.

What this means is that every RP you earn past what you decay for is your progress, and since it’s not possible to earn more than 13k RP in a week, progress at the higher ranks is much slower, and getting a dishonorable kill when you’re at rank 12 might reduce the progress that you’re making by about 5% for that given week, while it’ll hardly even be noticable for someone at, let’s say, rank 4.
