Yup, this is the reason I won’t be going fresh.
Still 1 months and 29 days longer than the novelty of anything accomplished up to and during WOTLK, including that “unobtainable stuff” you hold so dear ^^
Cant wait to show my grandkids the stuff I collected in a 15 year old rerun ^^ Perhaps they can outdo me by discovering America!
Why are you so angry at the majority which doesn’t find Fresh a sustainable concept in long-term?
You should be happy. Fresh will 100% become what you seem to be actively seeking - a small realm with few dedicated individuals.
Where did you read out anger? I just think its missplaced to talk about novelty and hold items that are irrelevant 2 min after acquirement as counter part.
Don’t really understand what your problem is? I collected stuff for myself and some took quite a while … for example the Conqueror title because I want to use it. What good reason do I have to start fresh and farm it all over again?
Or should I not collect anything because it’s a rerun?
If you want to play the game without collecting anything and just raid log, that’s your problem.
He isn’t interested even in raidlogging. He seeks the emptiest realms possible.
But if you collected it, its collected - Done, you made it! Do you need to see the pixels on the screen to feel the accomplishment? Or do you think people will stop and stare on their way to the Dalaran bank? Do these random unknown people need to be impressed or convinced?
You are comparing personal digital accomplishments to a “2 month” long experience, claiming that 2 months isn’t worth it but somehow those pixels are.
Even if the fresh server turns to whatever most servers are after 2 months, its still 2 months - arguably the most interesting period in any MMO/expansion - without a lot of things that are negative and taken for granted on other servers.
I think its totally understandable that some people prefer that over the “memory pixels” they cant do anything with more than stroke their ego or nostaglia, hence why I questioned your statement.
I dont think people that are tired of eating one sort of pizza are “sort of delusional” becuase they change to another sort of pizza, even if they eventually would end up getting tired of that one aswell. Process for some is more valuable than result, easy as that ^^
No, fresh won’t get close to Gehennas economy-wise. Imagine in classic vanilla/tbc, you had a massive amount of Flyhacking Bots farm instances more efficiently than actual players for 3 years or longer during a time, where Blizzard literally put 0 ressources in classic and ignored most problems, and only acted rarely, or if said Bots got reported afaik.
Population wise, gehennas was kinda balanced until phase 2 of TBC. Until then, it was perfectly fine (60-40 ratio), and a good server to play on. However, alot of alliance guilds started following the hardcore speedrunning guilds to other servers, and caused a cascade of tranfers. I doubt this will happen on the fresh server tbh. It may be horde favored, because of pve racials, but I don’t think, there will be a dead faction, unless they release multiple pvp fresh servers.
Don’t forget that transfers FROM Fresh will be available since start and at any time. Possibility to transfer away at hints of something being wrong is what caused most population problems. From past experience, it doesn’t take much to kill a faction population, or even whole server and you pointed on that with your Gehennas example. If Fresh looks like something around 44 A / 56 H, only two to three big Alliance guilds need to transfer away to start the inevitable dying process.
Maybe not right away, but after a while? One thing to keep in mind is that Wrath also generates more raw gold than TBC, in the same way that TBC generated more gold than vanilla.
The only way to extend that time is if blizz takes action against bots instantly, which yeah … is a very long shot that let’s be honest, we know it’s not gonna happen.
It will only be a matter of time until enough gold is generated that is moving around. Bots will accelerate it, but their absence will not prevent it completely.
Also, the economy on Gehennas is not even bad, outside of the GDKP. Mats, consumables and most items are very affordable. There are extremely few items that are overpriced like the tailoring robe, but items like that will always be overpriced in relation to a server’s economy.
Can confirm this. Black Lotus price is roughly the same on Gehennas (a megaserver) and Mograine (an almost dead server). You may say that I am watching the price of an old Vanilla herb, but remember that this herb is used for Flask of Distilled Wisdom which is BiS flask for Holy Paladins in Wotlk.
As opposed to SOM I think the fresh servers this time will be stormed by loads of people.
Reason is that many people who play classic right now started around WotLK time, from as far as I see anyway- and now it is their time for nostalgia.
And disappointment.
When GDKPs start to replace normal PuGs and attendees see other players spending suspiciously high amounts of gold on upgrades, they’ll realize it’s becoming a regular server, but without your previously earned stuff. Players that already play Classic will be very cautious about Fresh so you don’t need Gehennas-level of economy scuff, just a few hints of Fresh becoming regular server and mass hysteria shall begin. And we all know what happens next, we’ve seen this repeating pattern over the course of Vanilla Classic and TBC Classic.
That is why i syggested to organise people in a discord community regarding fresh server where all just report people spamming gdkp and bots
My initial sever died. I did find a good server and a new guild, so I’m not really sure what to do. I can lvl my mage the remaining 8 lvls and join the new content right away, or start a new. Possibly I will do a bit of both.
Edit: oops, necromanticus absolutus. Sitting in my unread and didn’t notice.
Hardly a point to delete (as it stays anyway) but don’t respond pls, unless!
I did move from my semi-established alliance things to horde just after 3.0.1 dropped, had a blast on this pally discovering the various achievements and getting to know the horde storylines because I somehow decided to do Loremaster sequentially.
The ride would have been much rougher without an established economy where I could sell some things, buy 16-20 slot bags for extended adventuring, have a relatively empty world to quest, and the odd people looking to do something out of the ordinary, namely boost me (nobody did Dire Maul, etc.).
I have tried fresh when classic launched, no thanks
I mean, ignore absolutely all professions, vendor everything, except maybe having a buddy to funnel cloth to and get bags in return, max out bag space buy not wasting it, and just level. I managed to be so strict with one character and that was nice.
Point - nostalgia and fresh doesn’t add up for me
I’m not playing a fresh server with only 1 month to prepare my account, meaning 2 rerolls with 4 professions 350.
So i’ll keep my 70 on my already TBC servers, buying a boost 70 and lvlup a Dk fast with the bonus 50%.
Blizzard already killed their fresh serv.
They pretty much killed the fresh servers before they even released them with this bad schedule and for ppl who want Ger/French fresh servers there arent even news if there will be some or atleast one. Many of them dont want to play on an english server so they will stay on their old realms anyways.
Chances are pretty high that fresh servers are dying after 2-3 months
What’s the point of preparing your characters on a fresh server?
im thinking about it, that since the guild i wanted to join went to Golemagg, and im not paying for transf for 7 chars
