there is no right or wrong to it, its personal preference/experience.
I have a main on Tbc but its not geared past fresh 70 etc, i dont enjoy TBC mechanics as much as the Wotlk, so to me, coming from mainly being retail, i will be on Fresh
every1 will be in same boat for a good bit at least, and if server dies in 3-5 months, tbh, my nostalgia will probably be over by then anyways and DF will be out, so it wont matter lol
Question is, why wouldn’t you abandon it. What good does it do now when its “collected”? Nobody can take that sence of accomplishment away from you, I doubt anybody will ever question you collected it or even ask about if you have it. You’ve done it - Congratulations!
You know that you at some point collected it, you can even log on to that old character and spend a day looking at it, but your journey forward isnt the slightest helped by it. Do you think the same thing when starting an Alt? Of course not.
Tell me, how often in TBC did you go to the bank and slam on them old Dreadmist-shoulders and run around a couple of laps in Orgrimmar? =) Or opened the reputation tab and thought “Nice, exalted Zandalar Tribe!”. Never? Well, thats how much that “stuff” is worth in all honesty.
Well thats you, other don’t care about what mount they have, especially if the trade-out is losing out on a fresh experience or whatever reasons people might have to go Fresh.
A cosmetic ground mount (that can be replaced or farmed) in a expansion with flying for some, a reason to stay for you apperently.
Collected items are often pretty low on the list of “reasons to play” when other factors start to take over, that was my point. Most, well pretty much all, have no real value than being a self deception band aid that the time spent getting them was “worth”.
Im pretty sure that for the people that feel Fresh is for them, the value of the “collected” pixels are lower than whatever trade-off they are hoping for.
I was once like that, until I realised how little I care once I take a step back.
All those items are lost in Retail, like tears … in rain.
I often look in my bank, revive the good old times, and sometimes mourn players not here anymore.
And I always dress noicely whenever I’m in town
On a less romantic note, I’d like the achievements in Wrath
I will. I dont like server faction balance on current servers, economy, people who prepare too much. And i like feeling when everyone lvling, even just playing is so fresh feeling. I think it will be really fun. If not, i not lose anything and can comeback to actual server to lvl to 80.
I’m thinking of not playing at all. The no RDF was a game breaker for me. I hate leveling, I have done that 40 times already. Spamming dugeons was a blessing, because dungeon groups are fun. Maybe I can pay som Russians to level my character to 80 instead.
Did I miss something, did they remove Dungeons overall or just RDF? Most people pushing their character up to 60 and 70 during Classic and TBCC launch used Dungeon-leveling, and this was before people even expected a RDF.
Im sure there will be plenty people that you can group up with the first couple of weeks, especially as Naxx is closed and people will try to push up Alts during that time. Should be enough for that one character you wanted to pay a Russian to level
Trust me, one doesnt have to be Tank nore Healer specced to run WOTLK normal dungeons. And even if you had to, which you dont, Dual Spec will be released by that time.
We are 5 weeks away, there’s plenty time to get a Tank/Healer off-set and get even more ready.
I can’t make up my mind. I’m really bored at playing Mage, DK, Paladin.
I never played Warrior, not since Vanilla. Druid is my safe card. I tend to go healer, maybe this time I can try tanking.
100k isn’t all that much in wotlk. Already now in tbcc I made about 40k with no effort, solely from questing and gathering herbs and ore around me while doing so.
I’m most likely going on a fresh server. Reasons being is I never really played either classic or tbc. I made a few characters, sure, but I think my highest is lvl 13 or something. So I wont be losing any progress, really. And since I’m leveling a fresh character on a fresh server, there will be more people around you when you level. For group quests, dungeons etc and a more alive world.
But more importantly, to me, is that everyone starts from zero. There wont be any established guilds or cliques or whatever. Chances are, most people already in guilds wont be bothered to reroll on a fresh server. Everyone, or most people, will be “strangers” thrown together with other strangers, if that makes sense. Pretty much no one will know anyone. Sure, some people might roll toghether on a fresh server, but I think the majority will be going in solo initially.
Chances are that not many people at all will go to a fresh server, making it feel really dead and deserted.
For you people in here I hope I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t be too suprised if it ends up under 500-600.
