Youtube / news websites etc as well
OK thanks, but they’re not creating anything in-game … I thought it was kind of like developers, that’s my point. They’re not Blizz people
But they are big unpaid by Blizzard advertisment.
Yeah, maybe, but not creating anything in any games … what was what I thought it meant
EDTI:
As you might understand, I do not watch any of this. I either play or not, don’t use my time watching others play.
Sure, yet between the nerfs to AoE and the restrictions on boosts/transfers, it will take about 20 years for the gold to reach the amounts on any other server. Especially after the “bug” that allowed people, sellers and bots included, to transfer to the top 3 servers without gold caps. What we will see in WOTLK on the old servers is 3 years worth of gold times all the servers that ended up being dead or deleted.
The fresh market will have to work quite fast to ever reach even half of that, especially during the inital months.
I’ll add that I also (and this is obviously “feelcraft”) think that people that already sit on a fortune or are more inclined to buy gold wont roll on a fresh server.
Economy doesn’t have to be Gehennas-level screwed to reach the point of beyond saving. Players that played during Classic Vanilla and TBC will be very suspicious to economy and bots problems in general. Add first hints of economy being inflated, mass panic and available transfers from fresh from the very start. After mass transfers off fresh, Blizzard will add boosts and transfer (no earlier than 26th december) with “population doesn’t seem to be stable on fresh so we decided it’s time to offer boosts and transfers to even the numbers” reasoning and there you are. A perfect recipe for disaster.
Like said, its unavoidable in the end, but the size and impact of it will be reduced. Just because I eat a table spoon of crap doesnt mean I might aswell eat the bowl standing next to it.
If and when the transfers open or the servers collapses, people can just thank for the good period of time they had during a fresh expansion launch and take their character elsewhere, or continue on their old ones.
Or are we going to pretend any form of playing WoW is anything but a waste of time, not a investment as some people seem to think as they cling to their escape from reality? ^^
So much this, and that’s why we should all be allowed to play the thing we think are fun, not being dictated by others.
I won’t play fresh because I feel attatched to my old bundle of pixels and the crap in the bank and all his upcoming achievements, you will play fresh for as long the ride lasts, nothing wrong with either of us :))
These messages aren’t meant for those like you, me or Scarekraaw. We are all decided and whatever the results will be our decisions are final. However there are newcomers/returning players that haven’t decided yet and there is a possibility to regret the decision in the future. That’s why they need relevant information without pink glass filter many fresh-hyped players put on.
Simply said, I feel the need to inform newcomers/returning players about all the risks that come with Fresh servers.
I think the amount of people that will be going Fresh when WotLK will be fairly low, about 300-600 people.
As always I have no real backup of this idea, apart from that no one is talking about it in /4 on both ES and Mirage.
I kinda do trust myself though.
-predicted less than 2000 people were gonna stay in Vanilla forever and this was true
-predicted SOM would get flooded without about 20K retail players which would quickly drop off and this was also true.
-now I predict this new fresh server will be a total failure, comparable to the incentive to ressurect Flamelash.
You’re vastly underestimating how much gold is obtained naturally through WoTLK though.
We’ll see in time, but In about 4 or 5 months, the “fresh” realms will be just like the others because Blizzard refuse to do anything about botting.
Im not saying that isnt the case, but Firemaw, Golemagg and Gehennes are also becoming WOTLK-servers, with bots ready to start farming the 31st August, new goldfarm-acounts ready to buy 80-boosts and a gold reserve from 3 years and 20 servers.
No matter how fast gold will inflate on Fresh, it wont infate as fast and easy as the old servers even if both start at 0 gold.
The raider shares alone on these servers will probably be enough to buy 16K mounts sooner or later.
Gold farms increase in WoTLK by a lot. 100k first month should be ez for hardcore, and some absurd farmers even more. And botting is to be determined.
Just saying some players play a different game here plus Blizzard being slow with ban hamners and allowing for mega realms
Ok I can see that, but I think you ought to inform the returning / new players of the risks AND joys of going fresh - I would roll fresh as well as continue, if not … you know, job, children … responsibilities
I will start fresh, i suppose all people that got thousands of gold due to GDKP runs wont…
Will be nice to start at level 1 with all other people.
I didn’t play TBC, I did play classic vanilla. I also want to try a new class.
More importantly, I really enjoyed the fresh vanilla servers in 2019, and leveling in an alive world with reasonable faction balance.
for these reasons I am rolling fresh.
Whys that?
Fresh server can bring its bots etc, but u gotta level them bots first, and leveling multiple bots in time i nuke 1 main.
I think a lot of retail players will/should go fresh realms. Because we dont have 10k+ gold already in bank with 6 alts, with professions maxed waiting to go etc, things on AH will be cheaper at start as there isnt hundreds of thousands of gold floating around the economy boosting up the prices.
if u are fresh fresh player, a new server is the logical choice if you ask me.
Everybody starting fresh is a bit of a nightmare when it comes to levelling professions. As there isn’t much gold around (And each player needs to sink upwards of 10k for all their flying ranks and DualSpec), most mats are traded for other mats instead of for an arbituary gold value.
On top of that, lack of gold simply encourages gold farming bots because nobody has any gold; huge market right there.
Sure. But if you’re an existing player that thinks hopping on to fresh means no bots and a balanced economy then you’re fresh out of luck; and everybody gets to transfer to the fresh server in 3 months time anyway.
Why tho?
I like the stuff i have collected throughout Classic and TBC.
Why would i just abandon that stuff?
I’m going fresh, because it fixes the inflated economy and I like levelling too.
