Will there be a rank 14 week one?

What?

The biggest streamers on most servers will have like 100 viewers

80 on pservers ,it would take even more than 120h/w here

Personally I will not be surprised if anyone that is willing to play 4-5 hours per day will get the title regardless of what. A system than can so easily be abused will surely not be seen as part of the “no changes” argument. As we already seen that statement carries little weight as well.

Furthermore it is very sensible decision to make it available for people that are willing to put up with the grind. Having to coordinate with other players and to some degree even be unable to stand a chance unless you are genuinely playing 14+ hours a day, it will not work. Changes will come I almost guarantee it. Also the “rank” fixing reminds me of the arena shenanigans with shared titles etc. coordinating rating and win trading. People eventually got banned for that, or suspended/told it was no longer accepted. So why would it be now?

While the idea of the community coming together is cool and all, everyone (including blizzard) knows it will only make for a mob style hierarchy. With servers having their own rank 14 crime syndicates controlling most if not everything in regards to the ranks beyond 11.

While this was certainly problematic in classic, the fact the servers are considerably larger will make title mafias considerably more difficult to control.

We had three competing teams [and no mafia] on my server when I was trying for Rank 14 and two Grand Marshals the same week and that was on a “Classic High” population server.

With the realm populations upwards of five times as large, there will be scope for many more people to get Rank 14 at once, maybe up to 10 a week.

If you weren’t aware the honor system was slightly edited through the patchs, you can Google wow vanila patchs and view them one by one; wowwiki.fandom. com/wiki/Patches/1.x

Quite a few changes are made to make it easier to get the gear, including less decay etc but you can read it yourself.

Even with the tweaks to the ranking, you’re still looking at (at most) 10 players a week getting Rank 14, out of servers with 15,000+ active players.

It remained a brutal grind, even with all the “nerfs” throughout vanilla.

The latest patch meant it was actually quite reasonable to get the gear. I only played in the afternoon after school and got it so that’s my twocents.

By gear do you mean the incredibly casual Superior set (which is easily obtainable for anyone who can play a few hours a day), or the Epic gear (which was pretty hardcore even without considering the weapons)?

I’m automatically assuming you’re not talking about the 2.0.1 pre-patch which turned the Grand Marshal gear into welfare epics, because that’s not part of Classic.

It’s not this at all… It takes 4 weeks to get Rank 14 from Rank 13.

Let’s just say that no one will get Rank 14 before BGs are here.

Depends on how long we go without BG’s. If phase 2 lasts longer than 12-13 weeks, I would be surprised if no one was rank 14.

I just doubt it will take so long, judging by the current content releases. My bet is less than three months. There really isn’t that much to do for so long, considering most people are done with leveling.

I swear 5rd week of vanilla i got at least stone guard source on this please

Then you obviously came late to the party, which makes it alot easier.

If you view the link you’ll see the patch I am referring too, not sure why we’re talking about 2.0.1 prepatch which was never mentioned, and no, I obtained rank 13 after the final nerf to the requirements by playing casually just after school so it appears to me you’re just over exaggerating or your experience comes from private servers.

Playing “casually” after school for me meant I would start in the afternoon, small interruption at dinnertime of 15 to 30 minutes, and back to my room to play till 1am or later. 8+ hours a day I would nowadays call very hardcore and not combinable with “grown up” life. And that only got me to rank 11.

You must have played on a super low population server then, because no-one on my realm at the time (Executus) would ever have got above Rank 11 without some serious grinding.

I think I have a combined play time of under 6h on private servers since forever, this is the character I got my “experience” on.

There probably won’t be a rank 14 even in Phase 2. Especially since everyone assumes Phase 2 isn’t gonna last 3 months.

To describe the absolute fastest way to get to rank 14, placing at the top of honor gained in your faction of the week. So if 5,000 players on your faction gained enough honor for that week, you would need to be Top 10 for the highest bracket, every week.

• The highest bracket (0.2%, top 10 basically) earns you 13,000 Ranking Points.
(This is correct for 1.12 I think, it was made easier in 1.12, prior to this only the #1 gained 13000, then only one rank 14 per side was possible at the same time)
• Each week, 20% of your total ranking points decay.

Ranks are
Rank 1 - 15 Honorable Kills
Rank 2 - 2000 RP
Rank 3 - 5000 RP
Rank 4 - 10000 RP
Rank 5 - 15000 RP

Rank 13 - 55000 RP
Rank 14 - 60000 RP

Week 1 - You have 0 RP and Gain 13000 and Decay takes away 0 (0*20%).
You are now Rank 4 (13000 RP)

Week 2 - You have 13000 RP and gain 13000 and Decay takes away 2600 (13000*20%)
You are now Rank 6 (23400 RP)

Week 3: 23400 RP + 13000 RP - (234000.2) = 31720 (Rank 8)
Week 4: 31720 RP + 13000 RP - (31720
0.2) = 38376 (Rank 9)
Week 5: 38376 RP + 13000 RP - (38376*0.2) = 43700 (Rank 10)
Week 6: […] = 47960 (Rank 11)
Week 7: […] = 51368 (Rank 12)
Week 8: […] = 54094 (Rank 12)
Week 9: […] = 56275 (Rank 13)
Week 10: […] = 58020 (Rank 13)
Week 11: […] = 59416 (Rank 13)
Week 12 […] = 60533 (Rank 14)

But please do note this is the absolutely highest honor players every week, just for comparison, this is how it looks for someone that is only the top 0.2-0.5%, the second bracket, more or less the top 50, but not above top 10:

Week 1: 12000
Week 2: 21600
Week 3: 29280
Week 4: 35424
Week 5: 40339
Week 6: 44271
Week 7: 47417
Week 8: 49933
Week 9: 51946
Week 10: 53557
Week 11: 54846
Week 12: 55876
Week 13: 56701
Week 14: 57361
[…]
Week 22: 59557
[…]
Week 35: 59975

So if you are in the second bracket, just being top 0.5%, you still need your final week/push to be one where you place in the top 0.2% to combat the decay to even reach Rank 14.

Probably quite a few bits of errors, but it’s the gist of it.

Agree 100%

Was relatively easy to get R10 back in vanilla, but with a larger percentage of the realm trying to rank now (I’m assuming) I wonder if it’ll still be a semi-casual rank to get. I don’t have any pserver experience so can’t compare it to anything in the “modern” mindset.
