Will war mode work in SL?

I mean we are kinda guests in that plane of existence,so we should behave nice instead of fighting all the time.

World PvP is kind of a core aspect of the game, even though war mode had to be added as a bribe to get people to bother with it. Removing it entirely for an expansion for “lore reasons” sounds unlikely and unwise.

I don’t know about you guys,but if i was covenant leader i would not tolerate internal fighting.

Warmode in SL should allow people from different covenants attack each other.

war mode is basically “flip a switch” PVP server.
It is much better than permanent PvP servers where you have no option but to cope with ganking or shell out real money in order to escape it…

Servers tend to favor one faction over the other. It’s not fun to play when you are outnumbered 10 to 1. Sadly, this seems to be happening with warmode too. As alliance i’m frequently harassed and ganked by max level horde players, whereas on horde WM is a free 10% xp / ap / whatever boost.

At least there is an option to turn it off. I’m usually leveling in war mode, then switching it off at max level. Assault quests are cancerous enough without added PvP slowing the progress down.

That is actually good idea! WM should work covenants vs covenants and not Horde vs Alliance

Imo assaults combined with call to arms Qs in same zone is one of the best things with BFA, the world PvP has been amazing from time to time.

Anytime the Horde and Alliance goes somewhere, we completely and utterly annihilate anyone, anything and everything.

We also steal all their resources and force them into submission.

We pillage, plunder and kill anything in our way. The Shadowlands will be no different.

As for World PvP? It will work until flying is released, then that kinda dies.

would be nice if killing enemy players added % to the assault quest. Otherwise it just takes longer and the sole reason im doing them is to get vision tickets (so i can get echoes and sockets xD talk about desperate, grind currency to grind another currencies)

Warmode works exactly the same in alpha/beta as it does in BfA. You toggle it on to be able to fight/kill the opposite faction or you leave it off if you want to level/do content without that conflict.

And he’d be right. Alliance forces in the Jade Forest enslave the locals and have orders to kill anyone who gets uppity. The horde similarily have orders to conquer this new continent and “paint it red” and make several attempts at pushing the pandaren into the horde.

The Horde’s main colour is red. Not defending them, just putting an alternative out there.

But the principal of your argument is flawed. In fact if anything the “faction conflict” would divide 4 ways, potentially 8 ways. Not 2. Thus a definite need for PVP.

Majority of ALliance never have it switched on, some players may try and go warmode for the bonus exp to get to 60 faster, but lets face it, they’ll be murdered trying to level in a Expansion release with WM On.

the likelyhood is, most players on the alliance wont bother with WM. not even for the sake of levelling, the popularity difference will be too huge for any Ally to profit from the exp gain realistically.

This is because the average alliance player operates at a higher level of intellegence than the horde.

After all, why would you turn on a mode that decreases the amount you play? That would imply the game is broken in the first place and that the devs want you to see less of each individual aream thats the big flaw in XP bonuses universally.

Also, we understand that if we are PvEers, there really isn’t anything to gain as the end reward of the 25 kills is a sub-par item anyway, not least the distinct lack of pvp involved in getting that reward: 5 people ganging on 1 for 5 second kills times 25…

Not to mention there was little point in war mode in the first place: PvP realms were filled with people who wanted to pvp and pve realms were filled with people who wanted to pve. Now however, the pvp realms are getting flooded with people who don’t actually want to pvp which skews the balance even worse than when it was just a handful of skewwed realm specific pvp issues.
The result is that the alliance turn war mode on and they are against a full set of low intellect horde PvPers AND PvEers who are after their sub par pvp items for pvp and pve.
