Will Wrath stay or be scrapped like TBC?

I tried finding some info online but nothing is known so far from the little I looked.

So far it seems that all Wrath realms will progress to Cataclysm.

Then the question becomes: What is even the point?

Everyone wanted to play the old game, from before it became bad (in their view, at least). And now that old game is going through the exact same progression that everyone thinks is bad…?
Why keep playing?

Point is try to repeat same expirience on older expansions/achieve something u failed/missed when was 15 years younger, for some it was vanila, for some it was on other expansions.
For endles tbc/wotlk there tons of private realms that frozen on xpansion of ur choice.
Comunity allready is to separated by to many versions of the game.

Still there is time until summer to play Wrath.

Maybe this is how Blizzard intends to consolidate the community?
Progress Classic to the expansions no one was nostalgic for, so they choose to go back to Retail.
And then when subscriptions drop again, do a “TBC Classic Classic”.

  • Mine perfect expansion is MoP. I would play WoD is that would be overhauled and cut content added back. I would enjoy Legion if it would not be as heavy AP FOMO and LeÄŁendārie lottery grind as it was on start, denying off specs to be effectively had.

  • Some player grew from “MoP is for Kung-fu Panda fans children”, “Cata ruined WoW” mindsets and see expansion as they were a pretty content rich (3 raids at start, new system challenge mode gold that are very memorable but not so unforgiving as high keys of M+ are).

Because the playerbase does not grow and the only people this is marketed at are now bored of wotlk.

It will be scrapped. Servers are empty already with most ppl looking into more interesting things, with ppl not even bothering to raidlog every week anymore.

So, read the above.

It’s absurd that they don’t intend to make separate realms. IT DIDNT EVEN CROSS MY MIND THAT THEY ARE THAT OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE GAME. JUST WTF.

Literally taking the exact same path which effectuively ruined them, ok a bit dramatic, but it dropped their playerbase by over 4x.

Perfect opportunity to not make the same mistake.

The ideal would be to keep the wotlk servers as is, maybe consolidate them so they arent empty when do people go to cata.
And then create the cata servers and give the player the option to migrate to that server when they are ready.

I for one want to get all my wotlk goals done before i get forced to cata (Again), it is hard for casuals with families to achieve all they want.

This is the best option for all to be happy surely.

without much work

Only WE can decide our fate. If we cry long enough they will make era servers. Ideally we need:

Give us:
— Season of TBC
— TBC HC
— TBC Era
— Season of WOTLK
— WOTLK HC
— wOTLK Era

not really sure, blizzy will release as many xpacs as possible i guess, i know there will be people who will go to warmane, which has lots of activity actually lol, and will have even more if there will be no era servers for wotlk, not really sure why they can’t just make people happy and have era servers for these early xpacs

Then they won’t need more than 1 or 2 servers, one for each faction, since they already split them apart. They might even get away with only one layer pr faction. I have never ever met anyone who asked for Cata.

hey i’m here, i want Cata, and now your statement is just wrong.

I think so.

Atm we have season of… for vanilla fans, nothing planned for us TBC or wrath fans, though wrath is just behind us.

Cata is a reality so MoP is mostly also. When we get there TBC and Wrath will be some years behind us, enough for lots of people to be calling for these expansions again.

What will blizz do? A 2019 reset, maybe tied into the current ‘season of…’ because you can’t convince people to go to plain old vanilla again after offering so many special versions.

That’s my take anyway. For classic to survive we’ll need a reset down the line. The speed we’re going at will make sure we’re catching up to retail, as in Bfa, in 6 years.

With the huge changes in Season of Discovery no one would want their items and abilities taken away to transfer to Era. It would make sense for the Season to continue into TBC and beyond. But then are players willing to play TBC with all these runes? Creating permanent servers after each season will lead to too much fragmentation of players. And Blizzard confirmed players will be able to keep their characters after SoD ends.

Go get a master’s degree in the meanwhile between current and future classic wrath servers.

MONEEEY BOYY. Blizzards wants your money. and people are down for it, which is the worst.
GDKP + Token makes Blizzard filthy rich.
The have retail, and now they have retail 2.0.
They literally doubled their money milking with this stuff.
Aww it’s just for Nostalgia so you can experience" blablabla. For nostalgia? My nostalgia doesn’t remember Tokens. Tokens utterly butchered the classic experience.

I suggest you quit and never look back cause the parasite on parasite symbiosis WoW and it’s Stockholm syndrome community have is getting ridicoulous.

Lol what an L take, WoD and MoP are literally the bottom of the barrel.
