With all the drama recently, I thought I'd ask, what do people think about Kakio?

As in, the youtuber, Kakio. Because personally I think he treats Argent Dawn and roleplay with a decent amount of respect. In his videos when he has his “reporter” section on AD, he isn’t super disruptive to people, doesn’t troll, people who join in with him seem to be happy about it and don’t take it too seriously, and another big +rep point I give him is that he doesn’t do it live, so his subscribers can’t swarm and get annoying. Granted he’s not perfect, especially in his earlier videos, but I think he’s a pretty decent example of treating AD and Roleplay with a decent amount of respect.
If you haven’t actually watched his videos, I’d recommend it, totally not a shill or anything…

My eyes flash in a powerful shade of red as I get flashbacks of this thread

Got nothing against the guy. Even subbed to him. Just his followers are oof.

I don’t think what he does is trolling, granted he takes it pretty light-hearted and isn’t super in the know about how it works, but compared to actual griefers and Trolls, I’d say he’s fairly harmless, and not broadcasting where he is live and leaving the actual troll-y stuff to the nightmare lands of Goldshire are why he doesn’t really hurt anyone.

Yea, I think the same. He’s a pretty harmless guy, even tries to get himself involved with roleplay. Sure, it’s… very much put to “entertainment and fun”, but for the guy himself it’s harmless. His fanbase is pretty bad though, as expected.

Would appreciate, as I gave him advice in that thread, to show people how actual roleplay is like. Not the lighthearted take, but with a bit of serious roleplay mixed into it. He gets most of his footage from Argent Dawn EU in the “why X race”-videos, where you can see he is trying to not disrupt people at all. Even interacts with them on a roleplay basis like in the worgen video.

I just wish his fanbase would do the same really.

As I might’ve already mentioned in the other thread, I don’t think he causes much harm with these videos.

Honestly the Worgen one was one of my favourites, as well as the Forsaken, he seemed especially respectful in that one.
It’s nice to see that others actually agree that he treats the server and people with respect, not perfect obviously, but by no means obtuse or a troll.

Outside the unnecessary if not downright offensive inclusion of Goldshire in his videos, as if it’s somewhat representative in any way for what RP is, his videos are alright.

Sure, his RP is not great, sometimes a bit meta with irl references that can cause a bit of cringe, but he is RPing. I’m not going to hate on a guy who’s at least somewhat trying. It does get annoying when OOCers recognise him and try to bait their way into the final cut of his video by spamming obnoxious things in /s, so overall, he’s a mixed bag.

I mean at this point Goldshire is a meme honestly, whether we like it or not, it’s there, and besides all the… ickyness, if you just wanna screw about going there is pretty much a given.
Goldshire is basically Marduum for RP. It keeps the ERP contained, and anyone new to RP will learn pretty quickly to steer away from it if they don’t want that kinda stuff (or steer close to it).

Regarding the recent drama, it was weird Tali kept denying he was on Argent Dawn in the beginning when he outright said he was for sometime until the organisers moved to Kazzak. You can see it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/607979513

He was on Argent Dawn for about an hour (carries on into the second video) with his viewers overloading the server for the epic win May Day march with the rest of the weird OOC spammers.

I just don’t get why he began denying he was on Argent Dawn, even dismayed they were moving to Kazzak at one point as a result. It seems almost petty to spend five hours denying it in the first place. He mentioned he wanted to go back on two occasions to Argent Dawn when people suggested.

Also he had this to say when someone asked about disruption: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/608002581 - 00:19:30 onward.

It’s only when more RP’ers joined the stream to ask why he was contributing to AD’s crashing he began denying things weirdly (and also viciously swearing and banning people questioning his behaviour).

Nice find and crazy that he makes the point of “taking part in RP” while being logged onto a level 1 orc jumping around the starting zone, really shows this man is in no way connected to AD

Edit: The level 1 orc jumpng around was on a different server, but looking @ the first link, he basically did the same on the warlock character on AD anyways, burning rushing / mount parading around – cool RP yeah I will take notes lol

Just because currently there are no permanent tools to fix the situation in Goldshire, it doesn’t mean ignoring the problem is the solution. Treating it like it’s there to stay is not the way to go.

The second link time-stamp is when he was on Kazzak, initially he was on his Forsaken Warlock running around in the lag with his other viewers trying to do the march in the first 30 min video, and about 20 mins into the second.

What a smug Beep attitude. By all that is holy, how entitled is this guy? So if that May Day march was apparently “RP” how far can we go with the “Tali RP” definition? Can I start a Monarchist revolution in Silvermoon? Maybe begin telling the Horde the joys of Veganism, as a Tauren of course, because by Tali logic, it’s all “RP” amirite?

Mount parades are RP in his mind

Honestly, I personally don’t mind Goldshire. Really not my kind of thing… but if people wanna do that kind of stuff they can I guess. I can definitely see the issues with it though, and it’s down to opinion honestly, and yours is also valid. Anyways, getting kinda off point, we can save the morality debate on Goldshire for another spicy thread on another day.

That’s a big yikes from me.

Agree to disagree then. I don’t really care about them personally.

Oh wow, that was very early in the stream and I’ve missed that. Yea, he has no idea what RP is, which would be fine if not for his attitude and the fact that he’s been playing on a RP realm for years. Big sad.

He seems like a decent guy. He tries to make funny and harmless videos, so I personally don’t mind him. Some of his content is actually pretty good.

Do we know why he is actually on AD in the first place? I had someone in general forums argue that he’s here because he likes “the vibe of AD”, so basically regarding actually RPers as zoo animals, or the WoW equivalent of liking Cyberpunk because “oo flashy light aesthetic” whilst ignoring the entire point of Cyberpunk.
Either way, what he said and his immature outburst is pathetic and childish and this isn’t the first time he’s been like this.
