The GM just said “you couldn’t trade loot in Vanilla, so… sorry”, but that argumentation is so flawed.

That sounds 100% not flawed to me. Blizzard have tried to faithfully recreate classic, which didn’t have loot trading for world bosses. The only thing you can do is make a suggestion ingame.

The ONE thing they changed in Classic is what leads to world boss item loss.

I remember this happening in Vanilla, it happened to me.
