World MS 1000+ - Unplayable Game

Getting random spikes 10+seconds in solo shuffles 1-2 games an hour , been like this for 1-2 months now.

Greetings from Norway

1 hour left until my subscription ends  Problem with latency was not fixed for Asia. As i promised this game is dead for me due to lack of support , ridiculous AI ticket system with zero help.

MS is over 10k for Philippines now without exitlag, when before it was 250ms.

Iā€™ll check next expansion if blizzard decides to fix the issue which is coming from their peering provider.

Sayonara!

I play from South East Asia, I use a VPN to sneak around the high MS. At the moment a connection to Germany works quite well. Mostly this is completely outside of Blizzardā€™s control.

This is from route 100% for example from Manila till Blizzard EU IP, it connects me to AS5511 Ā· Orange SA , which is located in France.

The connection is terrible, before my route was perfect , Manila - Singapore - Frankfurt with zero delay.

I told them 100000 times but nobody only AI robots on the tickets, literally i canā€™t speak with a human from Blizzard.

Issue seems to be from submarine cable that broken down on Friday night 19.04 in Singapore (this is after the 24 February - 3 underwater cables got damaged)

IMPORTANT :anger:
History:
24 Feb 2024 - Houthis damaged in Red Sea 3 underwater cables out of 15 that connect ASIA TO EU.
19 April 2024 - An anchor it seems to damage another cable near Singapore , name of cable is SEA-ME-WE 5 submarine cable. Which cause this chaos with everyone having HUGE MS from Asia. SEA-ME-WE 5 connecting 17 countries from Singapore to France / Italy in Western Europe.

My provider already investigated and they have no issue, they even changed my router with a more performant one.

Currently iā€™m waiting for an engineer from my provider to see if somehow they can modify the peering route, but doubt that can be done.

So you had your responses what you asked for but no response? BeepBoop

No answer from Blizzard, this issue is because of peering provider, giving a bad alternative route, not because of any of our ISP.
The peering trans connection needs to change and not to cross via an ultra saturated line towards Paris.
The lines from SEA to Italy / France /Turkey currently are having insane huge MS.

They use open trans Orange SA located is Marseille to Paris for peering traffic. That is one of their peering partner that they need to contact and escalate the situation to modify route

I gave them from A to Z what to do to fix the issue but they are too lazy to even answer me.

Thing is it affects europeans on top of asians also, people in this topic posted from sweden, gb, spain and germany on top of asian countries like singapore thailand and japan even, im myself in serbia having this issue like i dont understand why are they ignoring it its not like its a minor issue either that can just be ignored

The game is on unplayable state on EU servers. Characters fly on the screen for 5-7 seconds before it becomes normal.

Fix for this would be : RESTART servers

Latency spikes are still there and iā€™m going to call my net provider and ask a document that
iā€™m going to send to you directly.

Yesterday 4 crashes into 2 hours.
This is on your end. I canā€™t play competitive content because of these issues.

I havenā€™t seen anything this crazy for a while. Itā€™s completely making the game unplayable. When can you fix this?

The game is unplayable atm

My ping is unstable up/down and only in wow :frowning:

Hereā€™s a screenshot with the faulty node:

Itā€™s been causing issues since early February. And seeing Blizzard take quite literally 0 action on it while offering just as much explanation why we pay for a defective product, brilliantly summarizes their approach to the EU market. Namely: close eyes and pretend it isnā€™t there. Brilliant.

Edit: there was a thread a few months ago on that issues that spanned across 2 months or so. And not a single post from someone in CS. Zero. Lots of people, game-breaking issue, 0 communication. If I werenā€™t addicted to it, Iā€™d have long tossed it aside for its technical state alone.

Did people try approaching them on twitter or reddit or smth? I have a sneaking suspicion they wont read this ever.

Yup, on twitter and a few threads on r/wow. Radio silence. As I said: close the eyes and ignore :frowning:

Iā€™m really glad Iā€™m not the only one. This has been happening once a week to me for about a month now. Very odd and annoying.

No issues on US servers though, only EU. (I play from Japan).

Unlikely we will get a response, didnā€™t they lay off most CS people in Europe?

They did, yeah. Glad they saved that money, which will in turn fuel the quality and stabi-- sigh, I donā€™t even feel like being snide. Iā€™m tired of technical issues on Blizzardā€™s end that break the game for a fair share of players.

If youā€™re in Japan, you might be able to alleviate the issue by using a VPN - apparently directing the traffic through China / Indonesia (idk about other countries) allows you to avoid the faulty node on Blizzardā€™s end. Never tried, but I know 2 people who did and it worked for them.

The year is 2023+1, Blizzardā€™s games now require their players to use a VPN for mitigating technical difficulties.
Exciting times.

Same, also playing from Japan and usually getting around 200ms. Today completely unplayable with pings around 2000ms or moreā€¦

Iā€™ll give VPN a go if it keeps happening more often, just annoying you have to pay another subscription to play properly lol

Also, I thought playing through VPN is not allowed though? Maybe Iā€™m thinking of a different game that didnā€™t allow that

I go carefully with all post here, and can confirm this issue is not only related to Asia, Iā€™m playing from Poland and still i have sometimes very high lattency over 5k ms. the issue with transocean cables was sorted out month ago and innitialy blizzard blame them for this issue, i wander which part of internet they will blame next untill they realized they overdo thei servers with all that braindead games modes instead of focusing on keeping 1 game playable and interesting

Any updates?
