Yes, we worked that out: only 10% of players seem to have this issue, and in a raid there’s 25 people fine and 2 with the problem, it’s not server or region related, it’s related to your country: most countries are fine, at least italy, greece and thailand are NOT fine.
Me and one other person here (that I know of) are from the UK, we’re getting problems too. Things did seem considerably better yesterday, but today it’s terrible all over again.
I meant country when I say region. Same city even!
me and other 2 guild mates from italy are having the same issue with no way to fix it.
Ah, ok, so the UK are also affected, in fact seems it started earlier in the UK than in italy.
@Thrakhian, very strange that your friend doesn’t have the same issue despite being in the same country and with the same ISP.
The other time there was a similar issue, using a VPN solved it for me and it took around 3 days for blizzard to fix the problem themselves, but this time VPN is not helping.
Btw, as of 1.56 overnight the lag seems far better, latency is considered green and it’s 300 ms or less and behaves like 100 ms or less, however if I recall the previous lag problem we had also was basically solved overnight, then came up again during the day, when more people are online, so we’ll have to see then.
To be honest, I am sick and tired of this… Blizzard, when will this issue be resolved? Tell us that you are working on it and when we can expect the solution? I was able to play on a ping of 300 for 20 minutes with little to no lag then my latency jumped to 3000+ and it’s unplayable again? I pay subscription and I waste my FREE time (many hours so far) trying to play or resolve the issue somehow (DOWNLOADING VPNS, TRACEROUTE etc, following this thread for the last 7 days, searching online) and still there is no solution. My 1 week of playtime is gone…) Please, let us know???
Update: game is still unplayable. Can we have an update ? We are so many to be affected at the very start of a new season and you don’t give us any usable info! We don’t even know if you are working on it ? Are we waiting that the problem eventually resolves by itself ? Whether it is a Blizzard issue or outside of your infrastructures, it obviously affects many of your clients. Don’t you have skilled people to understand and fix this ? It has been a week. This is ultra basic client service here.
Can we at least have it confirmed that this is being looked into?
I’m also having this issue. Happens when phasing, loading into an instance or new zone. Everything lags yet im still able to interract with npcs for example turn in quests, yet it doesnt update that on my end. world ms spikes high until it eventually catches up again or disconnects me. ive had this happening since around the 17th april. Makes it unplayable at times and its a 50:50 chance if ill load into and instance or not.
Blizzard agents cut the cable of course.
FWIW currently ~250ms (24 hours now), no VPN from Thailand, routed via Chennai then Mumbai, probably over Tata cable. Whatever is happening to European players seems completely unrelated.
I play from Rome Italy, since this morning everything is working normally. I have 30 ms of ping as always (fiber optic connection at home)
I think they are fixing internal routing issues here
ps: my isp is Tim
Issues continue to persist today. Things were looking better, so I ran some old raids to test it. Managed to start and finish Molten Core with no problems. Went to Sunwell… loaded in very slowly and then mobs either lagged behind where they should be or didn’t load at all. Sat and waited a few minutes - my world MS didn’t appear to go up but it definitely was struggling. I could also see the chat log updating in real time but the world wasn’t reflecting what was going on around it.
Day 10 of these issues now. Getting fed up.
Update: I am playing on a ping of 900-1000 with a little lag (feels like old 300 ping). This is the weirdest thing that ever happened to me since I have started using the internet 20 years ago. My connection is red obviously and there is a delay of around 1 second. Overall it’s better than yesterday’s ping of 3,4,5,6,7k.
But I still want to be able to play my game on a ping of 250 (no lag) like I used to before. From Thailand.
game is starting to fail miserably yet again, but now even just walking from one zone into the next is breaking the game, loading into a dungeon… nope, loading into hearth home… nope, loading into raid…you’re having a laugh…
I can categorically say that activision is continuing its legacy, no customer support whatsoever, that silence from activision is DEAFENING!!!
Absolutely, can confirm the issue is solved in Italy, or at least for us who commented here who play from Italy, even during the day it’s now the normal latency, so I guess some cables have been fixed and they still need to work on other countries, in Italy the outage lasted about a full day.
Glad to see that the issue appears to be resolved, Esploratore.
Checking the link provided by Nz earlier in this thread, it looks like the issue was resolved about 8 ago (so during the night of Friday).
For everyone, please do give it another try and see how the connection is behaving. If the issue persists on your end, do try to contact your ISP as this would be a routing issue, which is happening outside of our network.
I’m still having this issue from Japan, it’s been a problem for me since the 20th and the game has been completely unplayable since then. I can’t even open a ticket on the blizzard support pages as every time I try to send a ticket I get the error “You can’t submit this ticket. An error has occurred.” I reached latency 10,000ms (world) and 3000(home) when I tried to log in an hour ago. The issue does not seem to be resolved.
Update: the issue is absolutely not resolved and there is nothing wrong with my ISP (they confirmed).
It’s trolling at this point. Stating that Singapore cables cuts could have affected a connection between Italy and Germany is trolling.
I play from Vietnam myself and can confirm the issue is still very well present and I cannot play FOR MORE THAN A WEEK NOW.
I’m very curious. How can you confirm that this is a routing issue happening outside of your network ? What led you to say this ? What are the steps the engineers took to verify this ? What have Blizzard done so far regarding this issue ? except the 3 CM messages you gave us on this thread ?
This is becoming really annoying.
Can also confirm this is not fixed for the UK. Nothing’s changed. Confimed with my ISP (again) that there are no issues. This is 100% a Blizzard issue as WoW is the ONLY thing I’m having issues with.
