World MS 1000+ - Unplayable Game

WildGrowth EU - same problem, some spikes from last night, today 500-1000 ms latency on WoW only.

Not Blizzard’s fault for once,

We’ve confirmed the degraded network performance in our first update is due to a cable cut, which occurred at approximately 18:00 UTC, April 19. This cable is located just west of Singapore and impacts the cabling system connecting 17 countries from Singapore to Europe.

As a result of multiple subsea fiber faults between Europe and Asia regions, the issues appear to be a direct consequence of congestion resulting in packet loss and increased latency connecting to the SGP1 region. Customers in the Asian region are having difficulty reaching DigitalOcean resources located in Amsterdam (AMS2, AMS3), London (LON1), and Frankfurt (FRA1).

Can see the latency happening on other services as well.

Update: it was too good to be true. As of now, the problem is back and the game is unplayable again.

but if yesterday it worked perfectly
come on, let’s not talk nonsense
they touched something with the patch and today it sucks, as usual, despite paying they can’t make decent stuff

Just to be clear, and as mentioned in my response a day ago, this issue seems to be outside of our infrastructure.

Furthermore, this was reported to have started on Friday by many players in this thread, and would therefore have nothing to do with the patch deployed this morning.

I was playing nice 4 hours ago. Now i got 6000 ping Wassup. I am getting high ping on some maps only.

I don’t care about others, there can be infinite other problems about others that I DON’T know about, I’m talking about myself. YESTERDAY it was normal TODAY with the patch it sucks
so let’s avoid blaming others or making excuses, you are a company that invoices billions of dollars and I pay a monthly fee to be calm and always play at my best. try to fix it.

I have been unable to play for almost 1 week. After the patch today, everything went back to normal for a few hours. The issue is now back and I cannot play (16k MS World).

Using a VPN does not solve the issue. I tried various routes, avoiding Singapore and the supposedly affected area to no avail.
Also as we can witness in the previous comment, not all people facing the issue are using a route from SEA to EU.
Moreover, most other games and platforms would use similar routes from SEA to EU, ie. using the same cables, but I cannot find any problem with any other app.
Obviously we also use various ISP and still face the issue.
Therefore, I would not address this issue too quickly and easily by saying this is related to those cables cuts or our ISP. It seems extremely obvious that Blizzard is at least in big part responsible for the current issue so many players are facing.

Could you please confirm that your engineers are currently looking into the issue ?

Indeed we are paying a (high) monthly fee and we are using our private time to play this game with other people that also rely on us. We can expect some sort of very basic client service.

Thanks.

This problem has been going on for over a week for some of us, from what I gather from Digital Ocean’s statement, it would appear their routing of affected customers, was ill managed, and has effectively caused congestion in amsterdam and london, both of which are PCH for blizzard online services, blizzzard should be in consultation with DigitalOcean about their routing as it is negatively impacting blizzard services, and has been for days

Its depressing that a random guy found the problem, and informed us, when Blizzard should have had a finger to the pulse and seen and known what was occuring.

This is 100% blizzard failure.

This is getting extremely frustrating. It’s been over a week for me now (issues started on Tuesday last week for me) and the game is practically unplayable. I don’t have issues with any other online games but WoW. A week of wasted sub time.

Traffic needs to be rerouted, we live in Europe not Asia.
now I have 6000 latency
before 2000k
I haven’t had any in months

The issue for me started today, the last time there was an issue affecting only people connecting from italy (like me) and it was solved (temporarily, until blizzard fixed a few days later) by using a VPN, but this time it doesn’t work and judging by the number of complaints, I guess it also affects non-italians.

Constant 1 sec + lag for me, even undercutting is unberable, so raiding is gonna be even worse.

Can’t even log in now. Completely stuck on the loading screen.

Like everyone here, I am unable to play for a full day with this issue, over 5k ping (world and home)

Start of season 4 when everyone is gearing up and doing dungeons while i’m looking online for fixes to the issue

Yes, even with a nice guild who lets people join for normal fated despite lack of experience and doesn’t complain, this lag is just too much, can’t avoid spells I normally would because of it, I noticed also 2 people went off pretty soon, perhaps they had problems too, this seems to affect like 10% of the population; I left too after 3 bosses cause I can’t do anything.

But blizzard says nothing ?

Hello, me and my friend from italy are facing the same problem. I’m here to report and trying to fix the problem for us with your help.
We have tryed everything listed on the normal guides for network technical issues. Also tryed some other specific solution that had been used by other players that have been facing the same trouble.
But nothing happened.

Here the information that you need from my and my friend. (my friend’s account is muted, here’s the name: OCELOTE)

This is also my experience, I know some others here had problems before, but for ME it was fine yesterday and started today, so the patch is obviously very suspicious since there’s more traffic when people come back for a new season.

Also, I’m seeing A LOT of people from italy with the issue (including myself), though I’m also seeing people from other countries, such as greece and thailand; I only looked at the posts after patch was deployed, but I’m guessing it probably hit some countries before others.

Hello I am experiencing high level of world MS even though my home is low as you can see on the screenshots. My friends who are playing in the same region, same server as me as well as using same internet provider as me arent having the same issue. Can you please help me?
