Any other fixes for the “Unable to start 3D acceleration” issue?
I’ve tried every solution possible (even went to 2nd Google search page). I’m running a GeForce 1050, I have the latest drivers, disabled full screen optimization, run as administrator, tried every windows compatibility option, don’t have discord, nothing works.
Is wow only thing this problem exists or same with other games?
Could be something is broken physically if you truly have tried all those things.
Tried launchers repair tool? Somehow wow manages to tangle itself sometimes, repair toll saved many problems for me. (Not sure about this one since it sound graphic card issue tho)
Run the program as an admin, either that or your card may be malfunctioning.
It solved my 1050i coming up with this error, my old card was broken with this same error.
I’m on a laptop what about all the people dont have 1050 that wanna search for a bug fix and u come here saying i have better computer then u its kind of hurting really but its nice u have it, how many fps do u have?
What are you on about, you come to these threads and talk rubbish.
I had that error come up on all my games 18 years ago because I had the wrong graphics driver installed, I’m sure that doesn’t help
My drivers are installed via the experience app and are 436.30 on a GeForce GTX1050Ti fanless.
It’s the discord overlay, had the same problem, if u stop it it should work.
Erm this? .
This fixes it. Do note that you need to do this to wow.exe file especially, not just desktop icon for BattleNet
To disable the FSO, simply follow these steps:
- Go to the game folder for the game you’re having problems with
- Find the game’s application/.exe file. Right click the file and choose “Properties.”
- In the Properties menu, click the “Compatibility” tab
- Click “Disable Fullscreen Optimizations”
- Click Apply
- Repeat this for any application/.exe files for the game having problems.
Try closing everything else down and see if it works.
Discord is a known conflict, even without the overlay, however while i have Discord open in one browser it wasn’t until I had also closed the other browser I use for emails etc which had never had Discord on it, that it finally solved the problem.
Now sometimes it works fine with one or both browsers open, other times it throws up the error.
I had this issue and it was nothing to do with discord -
Do you have a graphics control programme for your gfx card? If so, Go into it, find WoW and reset it to default
