World of Warcraft game director details which combat add-ons are safe and which will be eliminated in the coming purge

wow is a game kept alive by the same ppl that play the game for the last 20 years, adding new blood is fine but this is not what will make them money, you want the 30-40 year old that pays his sub every month, and buys wow tokens because there is just not enough time to farme with a family.

what they are doing is dumbing down the game so they can put it on console and they gamble on it that this will make them a butt load which i doubt.

The negative response is absolutely warranted after seeing what they released with the CD manager

Notice the people who are happy about this are the ones who do nothing in game apart from collect and there fore will make no difference to them.

Except its not. Its a mix.

You weren’t even talking to me you were arguing with a strawman you made up in your own imagination, with points no one actually said.

You weren’t even responding to the post this whole discussion started from.

So with that, I bid you a lovely day

The issue is that now there are either spells that are extremely difficult to hear, see or have heavy animations that cover the area also making it difficult to spot defensives or offensive buffs.

The game is a lot more fast paced than it use to be.

Do we know that though? it’s not rocket science. I think it’s more likely someone would ignore the data being displayed due to tunnel vison rather than not knowing what iit meant.

PVP is becoming evermore popular in the solo brackets, this is where these addons for awareness are increasingly important. I don’t see why healers would even bother to queue if these changes are implemented.

Young people don’t want to play wow. This is a 20 year old, grindy game with crap graphics. Hell, a 20 year old laughed at me the other day for playing wow and said “ha wow is old” and called me old…

Of course you don’t see a reason for negative response, you don’t play Arena so you don’t understand the effect these changes would have on people that play caster or healer. Even more so in solo bracket where if you cross cooldowns because you can’t see the information somewhere you lose.

We won’t see a surge in new young players, they don’t like MMO’s, they like battle royals and other rubbish.

you don’t even have to play pvp to see why this is a bad idea, if you want to play a decent lvl of m+ you can’t waste CDs either.

I agree, but I don’t play much PVE so I am only speaking from my main experience.

Quazi plater is not even that good. If you look yourself at it. You can do even more…

You can always do more

But compared to the default nameplates, I think that Quazi’s profile is already quite an improvement. And personally, I’m too lazy to go further than that. It suffices for what I need nameplates for;

  • Clarity about what mobs have special abilities / casts
  • Aggro tracking
  • Who is being targetted by a cast
  • When is the mob’s ability coming off cd so I can time my interrupts somewhat

true I also hate the game’s sound effects since Legion
and I hope they get rid of the trash buf/buf, because 90% of it is unreadable

Overall yes, especially this season when the stats are high but it depends

Blizzard doesn’t care about PvP at all, otherwise the sets would be disabled (or would have a link to PvP), the heroic talents are also designed for MM+/raid

Maybe it was you? Never saw anyone having a trouble unless it was m0. And even then you could guide. And ping on the boss. Did you know how the mechanic was working yourself?! I guess not. Such a weird comment to make

I was pinging it always. But then you wipe. You tell the group the mechanic. They ask you to ping it. :man_facepalming:

I have never ever seen an auto-solution marker. So i had to do it myself. As well as in Shadowlands as previous season. And you tell me i do not know the mechanic.

Get out :man_facepalming:
Speaking about weird statement…

To be clear:

That is the claim I responded to. I said it’s a matter of perspective.
And it is.

You then went on with totally different claims, remarks and passive aggressive nonsense.

YOU are the troll here. The posts speak for themselves.

I have to say I agree with both of these

Sorry. Didn’t mean to reply to you, I meant a quoted person as I replied to that quote. I thought it was obvious
I guess you did not read my reply as you can see the quoted text right there

Removing combat log tracking does alot more than simply removes weakauras, the entire gameplay in wow end games consist of addons showing things the default wow does not provide for partyframes nor unitframes nor nameplates this change will remove all of it, and obviously impacts people who play m+ or pvp.

I have zero faith on blizzard giving any of those on default UI on manner which I see of any use or that they enable any customization to it that is of the level of to be called as customization.

The issue is multidimensional, on one hand we would want less addons and on other hand we can see we have had to have addons for the most basics of needs for past 20 years, the default ui show nothing for default unitframe or partyframe or nameplate for their conditions. And now people believe that if they disable combat log tracking all these are just magically going to appear in default UI from blizzard? Sadly I dont share the same optimism.

Thats tracked via combat log

Also tracked via combat log

Imgur

That power infusion showing for hunter and sp is tracked via combat log

This is the basic functionality that one obtains with bigdebuffs or omniaura, the matter is simply not just weakauras and raiding that will be affected, and I have absolutely zero faith that I could one day after 20 years gain remotely anything similar on the default game to replace functions as these from addons.

I agree with the second one. Even for stuff that aren’t combat related like CanIMogIt, I downloaded it after I got tired of sending BoEs from alt to alt just to see if I already have it in my collection or not. Not sure I would have bothered if we had had the warband features we have today.

I have another addon just to tell me if my alts have unwrapped the tokens

Funny of you to assume they’d make fights easier or more straightforward with Ion in the helm of operations. That guy clearly spites the playerbase and seems determined to make sure we have the worst experience possible.

I am also quite positive about this change. I also hope they start to debloat the game. Easier to understand, and less things on the screen.
I might come back to pvp if this is a success.
