World of Warcraft's Glorious Purpose

Realise, the love towards each other is pointless. Stop relocating resources towards the world soul façade. Accept the animals we are. Commit atrocities towards each other.

Divide into factions like we out to. Elect a ruthless monarch as the leader. Stop worshipping the gods and treat your elected monarch as the true one god. Never question their actions, follow your leader into the great war.

Go to battle, Wage a glorious war, Fight for your faction. Die in battle field. That is your glorious purpose. Warcraft’s history must be remembered as an era where Horde axes and Alliance shields clashed while the denizens fighting the great war for thousands of years. And not hugging trees or digging up giant swords.

Go fight till you end up wiping out your opposite faction or your own faction. Wipe everything from the face of Azeroth.

End it like how you began it 20 years back. With bodies of alliance and horde lying dead on a battleground. That is how it should end

That is Warcraft’s glorious purpose.

op should go play crapstic hardcore but with a double challange of when he dies he should delete his account like a true warrior :stuck_out_tongue:

Kind of hard to be at war when the old two faction system was slowly just morphing the playerbase into all being Horde.

Now your faction choice doesn’t limit how much access to content you have thanks to cross faction play.

The more of the faction barrier they remove to make the Alliance a viable player choice, the less likely I think we are to see faction war return.

Nope. That all sounds decidedly psychotic, honestly.

It’s telling that it’s only Horde players who are excited about the idea of rehashing the faction war again…

Besides the whole faction war story being repetitive to the extreme by now, the player base isn’t in a state to support two factions any more, by being both not big enough any more to just divide into two completely separate halves and being too lopsided in population in favour of the Horde.

Almost all the hardcore players moved to Horde over the years (First due to racials, and once the population balance is crooked, it keeps shifting), as evidenced by the raid hall of fame being changed from 100 guilds on each side to 200 guilds total, because waiting for Alliance guilds took too long, that’s how imbalanced faction population is by now.

Remember warcraft peaked when its story telling used to what you described

To be honest, im all for this. I do not care for my faction… just give me some true purpose…

Kill everything on sight and i would prefer my character to either survive the great war or die trying

In real life, we should strive for peace.

In a fantasy video game where your characters has 30 different spells and 30 different ways to hurt people, war is the end goal.

Bring back Garrosh and let’s bomb some (thera) more.

That’s disengenuous. There were MANY MANY MANY factors that attributed to it.

I’m not against combat; WoW has always been very combat-centric.
But the themes that are brought to the story should imo be more interesting than ‘war, kill’.

And I am just SO over faction conflict. It’s been done to death. No more. Please.
Let’s wage war on something actually interesting (and sadly no; imo the void isn’t interesting).

Faction conflict can been interesting.

The issue with WoW is that, faction conflict or not, what is being written and presented to us is always mediocre.
Blizzard fail to write faction conflict just like they fail to write cool dragons and Old Gods. The issue here is not specific to faction conflicts.

Stop making threads after watching Loki….

I don’t agree. To me going back to faction conflict is the most lazy, bad writing they could possibly do: No matter what they do with it.

Evolve. They can have cooperation and still have wars against outside forces. And not some evil thing that we take care off in one expansion’s span. An ACTUAL thread.

Now, it seems to me they are doing that with the Worldsoul Saga. So I’m hopeful.
But I’m also apprehensive because it involves the light, the void and other cosmic stuff. As I’ve said before on these forums: For me, cosmic stuff has been ruined because of Shadowlands. I have zero interest in robots that program reality. I feel that those kinds of themes are completely out of place in Warcraft. I hate it so much.

I disagree.
Faction conflict can revolve around real, relatable characters and their struggles.

When the Night Elves want to protect nature in Ashenvale, but the Orcs need natural resources otherwise they starve to death for example.
Decent motivations on both sides. There’s room for good writing, intricate storyline and interesting conflicts between the main protagonists on each side of the conflict.

Or you know, Jaina just being tired of forgiving the Horde for genociding her loved ones every 3 years, deciding she’s had enough and bombing some stuff of her own.

It can yes. But that still won’t get my interest. I just don’t care for it.

Still won’t get me to care. I don’t want faction conflict.

i think them days are now over from what i saw on wowhead, we are now the avengers, defenders of azeroth.

It peaked when there were no viable alternative games for people to play.

Then my happiness is not compatible with yours, I’m afraid. One of us will have to be disappointed.

Countless forum battles shall ensue.
