As you know already a number of realms have struggled a bit with the extreme load following the expansion release.
We appreciate it’s both frustrating and disappointing not being able to enjoy the new content you’ve been looking forward to. We work hard to prevent issues like this in the first place as well as tackling them as quickly as possible when they do arise.
We’ve recently made some improvements which should help with the worst outcomes such as black or empty character screens, world server down errors and extreme in-game latency. We also posted an update on our efforts here: Service Update – 00:05 CET 26 November
If these problems do return, of course please let us know, ideally via realm- and date-specific threads to separate them from prior issues.
Please know that we’re also constantly monitoring this internally and even when we’re not here to reply to threads directly, you can rest assured people are already hard at work behind the scenes.
As for the related, but slightly different issue of realm login queues, these are there as a means to safeguard from the outcomes described above.
Understandably they can be equally frustrating if you’re one of the players in the queue instead of playing, though hopefully they will help ensure that players in the game have a better experience.
Ultimately, we too wish for everyone to be able to enjoy the expansion as it was intended and will continue to work around the clock to make that happen.
