And there is nothing wrong with that because 'BiS gear doesnt give u 10k dps more maybe 2k more. Also m+ isnt that bad.
What you on about? The professions take a hell of a lot longer. You have to level so much in it itâs ridiculous.
Might be thinking of only gathering professions ig. I gave up with the crafting ones.
You donât need to level a profession yourself to get crafted gear, just use crafting orders⌠actually, skilling a profession yourself is pretty pointless in this addon.
Hard to gear? to what level?
Just from playing my main, and getting tokens ect. My warlock has gotten ilvl 386.69 after 90min played ⌠and quite a bit of that time was legit just being afk.
And i could easily just go to the catalyst with this gear and have 4set as well.
I could easily get that to 390 something from just farming rares in the newish zone ⌠So more than high enough to do HCâŚ
Prices plummeted. Iâve stopped bothering with gathering weeks ago.
Oh I just funnel the mats to friends in exchange for free crafted stuff. Also itâs kinda relaxing.
As far as I remember Shadowlands with Timewalk.
The other thing I can remember is free Hero gear in WoD for Garri missions if you managed to get a full myth clear with main.
Of course it should be the case, itâs not the gameâs fault if you decide to start pushing high keys suddenly in the last 5 weeks of a patch.
So you want a solo queue sytem to get, letâs say 2800-3000rio, to then do 23s and above in a normal group? Just find a normal push group from the start and push with them, you donât need a solo queue system for that.
Gearing does not take long at all, spam 2s for valor and here you go, in a week youâre ilvl 415.
Iâm fine with asking for change but it has to be justified.
I go by a standard set by my expectations how others will react to my gear.
Do i Consider my gear bad at 400?
Would i want to be in group with other 400 ilevel?
Ilevel 400 is fresh new alt imo, Should be vary of any one at or below that ilevel
Professions I can agree on, but the restâŚ
You are comparing the start of an expansion (first tier) to the last tier of an expansion that has most systems freshed out and corrected.
If you only played BFA in the last season I can see why you have this warped perception.
The reality is though that S1 of BFA compared to S1 of DF was much, much worse for alting, and it got even worse in 8.2. The only time this was remedied was in the second half of 8.3 when the corruption vendor was added.
Up until then you had to farm AP, get yourself the right azerite pieces and farm essences on EVERY SINGLE ALT up until 8.3. This is excluding optional content you wanted to do, like reputations or warfronts.
I maintained 3 alts at that time (7 specs in total) and it took an ungodly amount of time to do so. Compared to that in DF you get to 70, dress up in your 385/395 catchup gear, craft yourself 3-4 crafted pieces and then you are only left to do optional content, or instanced ones (m+, pvp, raids). Gearing is the only grind currently in the game.
Whatever stuff you are smoking you should consider laying off from it, as it is making you talk out of your backside.
How do people get that fast to 385? I definitely had my fair share of time with farming rares on the new isle, but all my alts are between 320 and 360 ilvl.
Depends⌠if Iâm working through like 15s or below, itâs fine, arguably stronger than needed. 16-18 is pushing it and Iâd want to have some evidence that this player has good M+ score on another character, else Iâd be inclined to step out of the group before it begins. 19+ obviously no place for this ilvl unless youâre boosting a friend
Now I wonât step into a group at 400 if this is an inappropriate ilvl, but it does seem weird that so many players try to punch above their weight and inevitably fail. People gotta know what theyâre good for and be sensible when applying to groups.
BfA and Shadowlands were both terrible. The creeping power grinds with no catch up mechanics, e.g. Torghast where for a solid year, if you skipped a week, you were forever a week behind.
Or BfA Horrific Visions - GEEZ! Not only did you have to grind your entry currency, but if you failed, there was no re-try, so that just led to the hot mess of strong dps characters not really wanting to group up with anyone else (e.g. alts, healers or tanks) because the risk increased. Awful start to that season, really disheartening and unenjoyable.
So happy that DF doesnât seem to have any of that for character power, although I wish professions didnât either. Those weekly quests should stack if you donât do them, so if I take a month out, I come back to 5 !s that I can power through.
Tbh Iâd be happy if ALL weekly/daily quests acted like that. Keep giving me quests until I have reached the maximum number that has been issued this season. Being able to take a week off work and smash the game to rep up a new alt is something that doesnât really exist and thatâs silly. That kind of feature would be a major draw to lapsed players and alt-o-holics both.
If you havenât got a ton of the new upgrade tokens, I have to assume youâre not really getting stuck into those rares like I am
Tbh, I have so many banked now that my alts are dinging 70 and have mostly 385 items within minutes. Trinkets and rings tend to be the rarest and they donât all get any, but crafting is an option (5x382 from the free sparks you get), or just accept that youâre ~375 average and start other content from there.
I do think this has killed LFR though. As if the inability for high geared characters to need roll for transmog hadnât already, now we just skip that ilvl band entirely so thereâs a massive question of âwhy bother?â
(Edited because I realised youâd been doing some rares.)
I tried to wowhead this item, but i canât find it?
I have probably more than 50 hours farming rares in there, but i am definitely not having full gearsets of tokens. I just dinged my mage 70 yesterday and i had 4 unique cloth items (lot of doubles). So that char is now 319. To me it seems i better go dungeons.
Where youâve got the 4 faction representatives, itâs the centaur.
Just puts the rare marker on your map 2 mins before it spawns so you donât miss them.
I have no idea why you donât have many tokens Iâve had triple sets of every armour type.
But also, are you not using the AH for basic green crafted gear? Everything is available at 343. I suspect this is what youâre missing
I got more than 2 hexweaves bags full of tokens
I see. I have never in wow used the AH to gear my char. There was usually a normal gear progression in the game. If i have to pay for my gear i better buy a +16 boost or something
I mean, itâs still there, but why linger in normal/heroic dungeons when you can spend 20k gold and jump straight into M+ 2s to get rolling?
Tbh, I donât think Iâve done a queueable dungeon since the first week after release. Crafted gear just immediately catapults you over them.
Or craft it. What are your mainâs profs? Do you have other alts that make stuff? Do your friends/guild members have characters that could make you some gear? A full 343 set can be had off the AH for less than the price of a single M+ boost and puts you in a great position to start group content.
Oh, well maybe you were just unlucky with cloth. It is a sign to level something else instead
Sure, ilvl ~420 is the maximum at the moment. Iâd say that the last 20 ilvls from around ilvl 400+ arenât going to just fall into your hand without some effort.
Thatâs were dedication to that one character comes in. Mythic raids and M+, so to speak. If you canât get it all done in a week, get it done in a few weeks. Take your time.
If it has to be done pronto, then you gotta make the time!
I think it is more a mindset. But to me it is wrong to buy gear. I will just go dungeons. Which is actively playing my character and having fun
Thanks for the info anyway!
