Yeah which is actually another factor that makes this game feel like this is not MMORPG anymore given other players cannot affect my game… But yeah, you are right, I am not sure why I chose this example… probably because this was relevant when flying mounts became first available in TBC.
Oh, you’d love Tibia then.
The only quests to do when you hit 60 are similar towards any other expansion and hitting max level.
Endure some mind numbing quests explaining new systems like Torghast and lets go.
After unlocking Torghast, i never quested again with alts and yet they own legendaries and i run M+ with them.
Even better, said alts are literally not even “on the covenant campaign” didnt even touch it.
Nor do they have a “high renown level”.
And itemlvls vary from 195 to 205 ilvl
If you cant be bothered to complete once in an expansion quests explaining endgame systems, whats the reason to play?
You dont want to spend 2 hours to unlock said content?
Content you “enjoy so dearly” but you dont want to put in the effort.
After the initial questing of just 2 hours,
And the list consists of this:
- “Explore” your Covenant sanctum
- Learn about Renown / Callings by doing each of them just once.
- Learn about Torghast and how to enter, complete it, and hey, you can gain legendary materials.
- Some breadcrumb quests about weekly quests like the pvp one / Great Vault and reputation quests.
If you spend 2 hours doing the above, you are “done” till the next addition into the game where they want to explain what it is.
As i listed before everything else is 100% optional. And you can hop into any content without doing any of the optional content.
You want to gear through questing?
You never thought if running random HCs / normal mythics etc?
Nobody requires you to hit X renown before joining HC dungeons.
As listed above, the “needed” quests arent hard or even long. Yeah they are boring, but if you only did 1 or 2 at a time since you did hit 60 a few days ago, you should have easily completed them all.
So stop telling us unlocking endgame content takes ages.
Its around 2 hours, without rushing.
And even if it would take double, thats the only “required” thing to do when you hit 60.
And than you can do your “desired endgame” content all the way to 9.1 atleast.
So 2 hours of effort to enjoy days or months worth of content.
Overhealing is wasted mana and unneeded healing.
And i would happily “take on your challenge” because just checking your armory and general experience / knowledge you dont even sound “threatening” to me.
Now kindly provide us with the exact examples and quests that take ages to complete before you can play the game.
Because so far, you havent named or told us about any of them. Just that they “take a long time” because you hate quests.
And are even rambling on about “gearing up” through quests somehow. (Which isnt even worth it)
And finally: your “review” you wrote is all based upon this 1 character that you did hit lvl 60 on on january 5th 2021?
We have to take your “review” serious because you figured it all out in the last 7 days or so?
I mean, thats just great.
Long ago, you used to be able to play this game as you liked. If you didn’t want to do quests, then you simply didn’t have to, and you wouldn’t have any issues doing everything else in the game, such as PvP, Dungeons or Raids, or FLYING… without doing any of the quests.
Ummm…No. Long ago you had to do a massive quest chain for Onxyia or one to get into Molten Core via attunements. There was no flying long ago, that was introduced in The Burning Crusade, admittedly you only had to pay gold for it back then. The ONLY way to level (or to play the game as you wanted) was to do quests, some of them extremely laborious with a sh1t ton of running around because you couldn’t mount up until level 40.
To get into dungeons now all you need is to get to a specific level required for normal once you get to the instances stated level requirement. For heroic there are merely item level restrictions that are easily met. As for raiding, that’s pretty much the same, served up on a platter in the guise of LFR. Again, hit level 60, and the minimum item level requirement, press a button to queue and have at it.
It is so much easier now and has been since Wrath of the Lich King. To me it just sounds as if you are bored with the game but don’t have the backbone to stop playing because if it’s as bad as you say, why keep subscribing ?
If you already have a level 60 wth are you complaining about? Just got TOF and forget questing.
Setting up at max level takes no time to “get into it”. You get a prompt to talk to someone in ur cov, you then skip the entire of chapter 1 if you like, and then they offer you the next bit of cov quest to go to torg. You have to do one torg run to rescue baine, and then after that u have to do 2 quests (kill named guy in Maw and gather 5 anima) and then u unlock runecarving.
Once that’s done, covenant campaign stage 3 unlocks if u have the renown, else you’re now free to do what you like. It takes about 2 hours tops and a good chunk of that is the torg run and flight paths. I’ve done this on two alts now and within an hour or so of hitting 60 I was either spamming dungeons for gear or spamming bgs depending on whether they are a PvE/PvP char.
I’m pretty sure in older versions of wow u have to do way more than an hour or two of rubbish to access whichever part of the game u like. Old raids were locked behind huge attunement quests for example. Even in Wrath u couldn’t queue the PoS/HoR dungeons without doing a questline first. So no you couldn’t do “any content you like” once hitting max, some of it was still gated behind the story.
No grind SOns of Hodir? No max level enchants for shoulders for you then. Same for other rep vendor stuff like max level recipies etc and these reps were all gated behind questing content and couldn’t be earned by just spamming dungeons. I remember the pain of doing those stupid Hodir dailies every day and the same for the cata ones for Therazane.
Think the OP finally got the energy to do “all these quests” and got totally caught up in the content.
So much questing.
Think some people get away with trolling others on here, just so long as the mods agree with them and they have friends to click the flag on the posts they disagree with to get them removed.
Seems to be a behind the scenes community on these forums, just like with other games.
Mod visits topic, deletes loads of posts, leaves posts with blatant spam and trolling, such as…
Hmm,
I agree with this part. If you didnt want to do something you didnt have to. I honestly hate the endless grind. Theyve managed to add a grindy system to PvP as well now, to upgrade gear, get higher rating to upgrade further and get higher renown to upgrade as well. Its truly sh*t. I wish there was no rating requirement. 2 sets of seasonal pvp gear (honor and conquest) and the item level be on par with PvE. Theres too much variation in item level at the moment and thats whats making the game a bad experience imo. That and having to grind boreghast, world quests/callings and renown. All they need to do is have an honor set at 180 ilvl and increase to 200 in PvP, a conquest set at 190 ilvl and increase to 210 in PvP. Then heroic items should be 180 ilvl, Mythic should be 190 ilvl, raid finder 195 ilvl, normal 200 ilvl, heroic 210 ilvl and mythic raiding 215 ilvl.
No upgrading of items, no required rating or renown to upgrade items. No renown extra stamina. Higher rated PvP players should get cosmetic rewards and mounts.
Mythic+ dungeons should then be run at higher keys for cosmetic rewards, mounts, titles, leaderboards etc. Maybe they could turn mythic+ into races, like 2 groups sign up and race each other for rating or something. Give it a more competitive side.
They just seem to have made end game the biggest grind, no matter what content youre doing. There is not an ‘end’ to enjoy.
To be fair, they didn’t get rid of it. They still gated racial unlocks behind Dungeons, meaning that your ability to get them is 0% related to your own ability or effort. Just related upon you trusting upon the goodwill of others, or simply overpowering the Dungeon.
Classy move. Completely makes sense (In an alternate reality where such things make sense)
What, Players are allowed to whinge here, it isn’t restrained to just PvP or PvE raider complaints!
I want to achieve things based on my Skill, damn it Blizz!
You laid it out in good detail. I mean, I understand that they want Mythic dungeons to be more like an e-sport, where just PvP used to be the sporty side of the game. But item level gap would create imbalance in any competitive game. The “good sport” starts when everyone has the same level items (or there about).
If you mean the loot system… I think they should bring back Need Before Greed looting. We can’t rely on people to offer things up for rolls. We shouldn’t have to click inspect on people or rely on an addon, then sit whispering people like avid stalkers to ask them for the loot they got (which they don’t need but you do).
I call the current loot system “Auto Ninja”. Blizz made it this way because they were sick of people complaining about players “ninja’ing” loots. Ironic tbf.
You know there’s more players out there…
You know where they are…
Let them fly, and they will play too!
