is it just me ? ive played wow since the beginning, except for WoD, and ive never seen my mage being so weak… i chaged spec from arcane to fire, becasue arcane became a joke with the global cd changes and mark of aluneth being removed, plus the other nerfs he got… fire is still pretty boring and low, u can kill people only with greater pyro, and nobody let u cast it, ever, even when u fake them, they will have ccs to stop you, or defensive to counter you, and its impossible to sheep and free cast in 1vx
im squeezing everything i can out my class plus engineering, its the first time i ever had such a hard time, i feel weak, and easy to counter, and it just keep getting worse…

For fire go with versatility instead of haste and 3x flame of alacrity or 2x with battlefield focus.

Your burst comes from combustion only, so for your pvp talent tree you pick firestarter/flamecanon and the basic temp.

You can play with greater pyro if you have 3x flame alacrity granted that your fireball does not crit and you are able to stack up many haste with enhanced pyrotechnic.

But its only good in arenas or battleground when you have team, but if you want to go 1 vs 1 then the class just sucks with whatever spec you are trying.

lol im playing that spec now, flamecannon, fireball spam, don’t have the traits, but w/e

and yes, in 1v1 or 1vx, u always suck, u cn escape reset or try the 1shot, otherwise ur dead meat.

Arcane is actually probably the most direct spec atm, but lacks versatility and utility. Missiles are boring because they’re not even affected by the mastery anymore, the spec feels gutted. Still it feels the most fun spec to play atm.

Fire losing the baseline Phoenix’s Flames was a critical mistake from Blizz, with that gone and Living Bomb being undertuned Fire has absolutely zero versatility in how to initiate damage.

Frost is doing good because it has a lot of versatile procs that can be used to deal damage and a relatively short cooldown on Frozen Orb for massive burst windows especially on AoE. And has the simplest AoE just hit Blizzard on cooldown and you’re OK without giving it a second thought.

yeah… it’s so freaking sad and frustrating. I’m still trying to squeeze out at least something from Arcane, with Engineering and Tailoring and potions and vendor bombs… in 8.1 it became just a $#!7show.

The only trait that gave any game-play customization is nerfed and doesn’t do that anymore. Nothing is done about damage distribution of spells, only more nerfs and less damage when Arcane already had VERY LITTLE. 2 new bugs make 2 talents useless. Nothing fixed or improved. More → 8.1 has landed on Arcane Mage

All of that makes other design problems pop out even more: interrupt with longest CD in the game, worst CC in the game that heals enemy and only works in groups because it’s on a separate DR, Dispellable Ice Block that disables you on 5 min CD like it’s the same as non-dispellable free action Paladin bubble.

With all these weaknesses, flaws, clunkiness, lack of flow and synergy, and BUGS - Arcane currently is the worst spec in the game.

They claim they are fake Vurtne. But the more I watch them starting from Legion, the more I think they are real.

Yeah, Vurtne & Drakedog were awesome, they inspired me a lot back in the day - all that items research, trying different setups and builds, engineering, learning about other classes and improving in pvp… That was so good! WPvP & BGs are my favorite activity in WoW to this day.

I like 3x frigid grasp with thermal void and Ice form as frost. Pair it with a 1min cd on use trinket (like off darkshore world boss) and you get a 3k int bonus and immunites for 20sec every minute. Chuck in lonely winter and concentrated coolness and frozen orb is a very strong cd. Frigid grasp only works at 66% but it’s still strong stacked. I was using a Legion tier 2 peice aswell but it got nerfed :frowning: I do use the one for +10% arcane missles dmg sometimes just for fun.

Could give Fire atleast Cone Of Cold back jesus… We are sitting ducks and melees hava audacity to whine about Greater Pyro.
