Worth trying out?

Hi guys i’m looking at getting into classic and was wondering if anyone could answer some questions i have.

What realm is best for PVE?

What class is best for solo leveling?

How easy would it be to find a guild to join?

the pvp realms pretty much always have the best guilds, so Spineshatter is the only option.

Hunter is the best for solo leveling with single target. Mage is the best thanks to aoe leveling, but it requires you to not be a complete bot like you can be with hunter.

It’s very easy to find a guild, but some classes have much more demand than others. In classic ideal raid comp is like 40% warriors in very casual guilds and like 70% warriors in serious guilds. Hunter & Mage are very popular compared to their demand in raids, so not the best choices if you want to have a lot of options. Warlock is not played by many, it’s easy to level, slower than a hunter though, very easy to find non hardcore guilds as lock.

You will spend far more time at 60 than you wil leveling regarldess of what class you pick. Warior is boring and slow the first 30 levels, but after that it’s probably just behind mage, hunter, lock and priest.

Are you interested to play ERA or Anniversary? Both versions have only one PvE realm (ERA has connected PvE realms in, like in retail). If you’re looking for a small, tight group of people, then ERA is a good choice. But if you want to find groups fast and you love to see more people around you, then pick Anniversary.

For classes, it all comes to the individual preferences. Some classes/specs are more in demand, some less but it all comes to how do you see yourself in the game and what do you enjoy? Do you want to heal, tank or do demage? Maybe you like to have more options. I always recommend Druid as very versatile class. Jack of all trades, master of none. If you want smooth leveling and want to be able to solo the content, then Hunter or Warlock. Mage is very good class for farming gold and melee classes are great in the end game content. All hybrid classes usually go as healers later, butnif you’re in a casual guild, you won’t have an issue to play other specs (meme specs).

It all comes to how you see yourself and what do you like. Try to explore as much as you can and to enjoy. Classic is fantastic. Hope you will have a great time and that we will hear your feedback any soon.

Is there any real difference between era and anniversary when it comes to content?

All raids are open in Era.
In Anniversary only Onyxia and Molten Core is open. Rest will open over time, and by the time you are level 60 at least BWL and maybe more would be out.

Anniversary is probably best place to start, as there are still many new levellers. Bit the big question is what happens when TBC is out: we still don’t know if it will be possible to move characters to Era or not.

Thank you. will make my character on anniversary realm soon.

I have to say this is the lowest quality playerbase I have ever seen, so keep that in mind.

We really hope to get the option to transfer to ERA.

So the PVP servers usually has the best guilds and players, but also the most degen losers.
PVE will have lower player and raid quality but probably a more friendly atmosphere since you won’t get camped by some loser while trying to quest.
If you’re playing a healer or warlock is will be very easy to join a raid or guild, however I’m very happy at the moment raiding in PUGs since GDKP is banned and all the PUGs are softres.
For solo leveling no class is explicitly bad, but druid and hunter are the fastest.
I wouldn’t recommend to make my class decision based on the leveling experience.

Edit: If you plan to play on the PVE server maybe give Hardcore a try, since your character will migrate to the PVE server when it dies anyways. Hardcore probably has the best overall gaming and leveling experience but with the risk of losing it all.
