At this point i rather get void storage or something similar so i get finally cleanup my bank
Everytime the subjects of Transmogg comes up, I just gotta ask.
Do other armor types really get that bad looking gear?
Because for Cloth i never felt like i don’t enjoy the look of my gear.
How can you even ask such thing? As far as I can remember, every RPG game I’ve played had better design for cloth robes compared to leather, mail, and sometimes even plate armor.
Problem with WoW Classic is that only decent looking gear comes from raid or PvP, and getting full raid gear of the same tier is not easy task and you wouldn’t even use the full (graphical) set since some non-set items provide better stats and are considered best in slot.
I always thought that this was the main reason why transmogrification was added in Cataclysm to the game in the first place. To give players option to set the look of their gear to be for example, more like this:
or this, if you like the Siegebreaker Battlegear look
instead of mismatched mayhem like this
And while you don’t really need transmogrification to have the full Siegebreaker Battlegear, you might loose your place in the raid as tank to those who goes for BiS instead of color matching gear.
Speak for yourself. Transmog was once one of the most requested things until blizz finally caved and introduced it in Cata. Even when wrath was still current the forums were flooding with requests to alter the look of your gear, as other mmo’s at the time offered this feature.
And yeah it’s mostly for yourself but in retail I often see sets or combinations that insipre me to make my own.
Most people that play since 2019 classic have saved their full t3 set just for transmog when it will come out, fyi.
Exactly, people would use older sets that look great together.
My mage looked nice during the entirety of OG classic back in 2019.
I pretty much skipped TBCC so i dono about that, and my warlock have looked nice throughout pre-BiS, naxx and now ulduar.
It’s just my personal opinions i guess, thus why i am asking, since imo… it has looked great
Got my Ashbringer sitting in my bags for this very reason.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, big issue for many players is mismatched look of the armor that provide best stats. Be it during the leveling or at max level.
Cloth wearing classes do not have that much issue with this since only visible mismatch can be gloves, belt and shoulders. Other pieces of armor are either hidden under the robe or can be toggled off to not display at all.
Highest value in transmogrification for me was not to get retro look using vanilla, BC or WotLK gear in Cata. It was to have color matching armor all the time.
Designed as complete set by Blizzard if possible, if not, then most matching alternative.
I’ve never played Retail that much to have full armory of countless transmog sets, but even when leveling up, I was focusing on doing quest-lines that rewards armor that is part of visual set like this one:
This is anice suggestion.
Do you want to display your transmogs? YES/NO
Do you want to see other people’s transmogs? YES/NO
A feature that is completely optional for everyone involved would definitely go over a lot better.
Actually, you looking like a fool next to somebody who is trying to RP a serious story is more than influencing others. It’s pretty much trolling.
Wrath gear is extremely dull. Back in Classic you were hard pressed to find two items with the same model in a raid tier. Now in Wrath you have 1 model for each item, copied 4+ times. Tiers still look good, but offset items and even weapons all look the same.
No, just no…
Enjoy the damn lootz you get in each new raid tier.
Final Fantasy is full of woke snowflakes, transgenders, vegans and global warming activists though - they all enjoy playing fancy dress too.
Can I interest you in a can of Bud Light?
Earlier, I attacked your post on a personal level, that was not classy of me. I deleted that and this is my reply instead.
If those are your concerns it’s good to take them serious. Is it so that you are offended by people RPing or the transmog system? If you’re offended by people RPing around you there’s an easy way to fix it. You could mute the person. There can’t be too many people to mute, cause not a lot of people RP on Gehennas.
If you take offence to people wanting to match armour I invite you to come with arguments why you take offence to that.
Sorry, maybe I wasn’t clear enough. Maybe an example will help. Let’s see…
Imagine a group of people roleplaying a knightly order. Then a female night elf wearing nothing but a diving helmet runs in and starts dancing in the middle and refuses to go away when asked. Or people roleplaying a group of DEHTA druids and someone runs around them wearing one of the Wolfshead type helmets.
My point was that inappropriate clothing can be as disruptive as inappropriate behaviour, and unless silencing players will be able to also remove them from your vision there is nothing anyone can do about it.

No, just no…

Just for the record, I’m not pushing to get transmog included, was just explaining why somebody might want to.
Thanks for clarifying! I understand your point of view better now. The examples helped a lot!

As a mage gearing in BiS or close to BiS PvE gear, I didn’t wear a nice looking set since P3 of Classic when Bloodvine was introduced. With a possible exception of T5, which was okay, but nothing to write home about. And there’s nothing to look forward to until t11 in Cata.
Perhaps they can fix gear being actually EQUIPPED, rather than PAINTED on your character first.
Transmog is cancer and it killed the game. Only insightful people can understand what kind of damaging impact it did on WoW. I might even make a post about it soon on retail forum and get all the hate.

Alright, have at it. Please explain to me how having matching weapons and armours and not looking like a cut&paste clone of literally everybody else damaged the game.
Because good gear with unique appearance has value.
Anyway, if you want transmog, why not just play retail? The feature is in that version of wow, and it sounds like that may be a better fit for your requirements.

There are no unique appearences in WoTLK, every tier has a specific class set and a non-class specific recolour.
On top of that, your appearance is hidable by multiple forms of cosmetics, such as deviate delight, noggenfogger etc etc. As well as things like Tabards. Realistically, you can only see somebody’s set via shoulders, legs and gloves (head is already hidable)

Anyway, if you want transmog, why not just play retail?
Fun fact, transmog was one of the most requested things throughout all of original WoTLK.

The feature is in that version of wow, and it sounds like that may be a better fit for your requirements.
I personally don’t care. Your arguments are just plain old dumb for the reasons I’ve already expressed.
The only valid argument against transmog is that it wasn’t a part of WoTLK. Which is utterly irrelevant anyway thanks to other dumb updates.
