According to this article, Chinese players will be able to obtain these these brand new mounts (among other things, such as the Spectral Tiger) thanks to the addition of loot boxes:
These mounts look pretty nice.
Would you like to see them added in the Western version of the game?
They not really unique mounts. They simply recolors so nothing special except to those collectors who will demand to have access to them and never use them.
If you want to make every flight painful for your eyes, do petition for the golden ashes of al’ar to be added in europe it would be a portable lantern standing out from the crowd at night, for those willing to use it… makes me think of the end time dungeon, entering the sand place with the timeglass, extremely bright.
Sure, after they give us the Spectral [flying] Tiger mount for €250.
People in China have more money than sense with this Gacha nonsense… prime suckers.
The moment they bring that here will be the day I call quits with WoW. WoW is a subscription game with purchased expansions… if Blizzard ever did that would be a huge middle finger to us players.
And they already have with the AH mount of recent… nevermind the fact they’re already utilising F2P methods for player retention – actually surprised we don’t have daily Login bonuses.
To expand on what Puny said, you can’t sell lootboxes for real money in the EU. Only Blizzard game I’m aware that still has lootboxes is Heroes of the Storm and they had to disable the ability to buy them with money for that reason. Now you either buy them with HotS gold (which again can’t be bought with real money) or earn them with leveling your profile. Or people can pay money to buy skins and mounts directly.
